1. Motivations ( 5 minutes)
Objective:
- Ss know the lessons objectives.
- Introduce the topic of breathing
- Gain the interest of children in the topic.
- Post, read, and explain the content and
language objectives of this lesson to students. - Read the language objective

 Warm up/ Building background:
- Teach breathing and focus students on their

breaths in and out. Tell them they are quite
slow. - Join in the activities.
- Tell Ss to stand up with space around them.

the spot. After about one minute, clap for
them to stop.
- Ask them what they notice about their
breathing now. Is it faster?
- Lead Ss in the topic: “Breathing”.
2. Presentation ( 15 minutes)
Objectives:
- Define the phrases: breathing, breathe in, breathe out.
- Understand the new vocab about breathing (air, lungs, chest).
- Extend Ss’ understanding of breathing and lungs.

- Remind Ss the objective: check for


comprehension throughout and discuss
unknown words.
- Tell the students we are going to learn new
words for “breathing” today. Introduce
Breathe in and Breathe out.
- Introduce the new phrases and new words by
using photos: - Develop a vocabulary card for
breathe in, breathe out, chest,
air, and lungs. Write the new
words in a notebook.

3. Practice/ Applications ( 10 minutes)

- Review the process of breathing.
- Apply to find out how much breathe there is in the lungs.
- Enable Ss to learn by doing.

experience with the class:
1. Write down how tall you are.

2. Take a balloon and take a deep breath.
3. Now blow all the air in your lungs into the
balloons.
4. Ask a friend to tie a string around the mouth of
the balloon.
5. Now measure around your balloon and write
your result. Look at your friends’ results. What do
you notice?

do.
- Put Ss into group 4.
