MONDAY

Our team was assigned to the San Fernando Health Office, where our Clinical Instructor was Ms. Ruselle
Leah P. Tiu. Our duty lasted for 8 hours, starting from 8 am to 4 pm on Mondays and Tuesdays. I usually
arrive 30 minutes earlier for my shift.

The tasks and routine for each day depended on the area we were allocated to. This could include the
Triage, OPD, treatment area, Dental, or Animal Bite Center. However, today I was assigned to the OPD
area. As an OPD Nurse, our role is crucial in preparing patients for procedures. This involves ensuring
that all necessary assessment checks are completed. One of our main tasks is performing the initial
assessment, which includes checking vital signs. Additionally, our Clinical Instructor takes the time to
share her knowledge and experiences with us..

TUESDAY

During my clinical duty at the Treatment area, I had the opportunity to closely observe the roles and
responsibilities of various facility members. It was a valuable learning experience as I observed and
learned from each person’s approach to their job. Through my interactions with the nurses, I gained
knowledge about medications, documentation, assessment, wound care, and other essential skills. The
nurses also provided me with the opportunity to administer shots to patients and check their blood
pressure. It was fascinating to witness the diverse dynamics among the nurses, as each one had the
same tasks and responsibilities for the day but executed them in unique ways. I consider myself
fortunate to have worked with different nurses, as it allowed me to gain a fresh perspective each time
and observe their individual approaches to their work
