Welcome to the (Health Grade 9 Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) Module on ( Defines community and
environmental health) !
This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by educators both from public and private
institutions to assist you, the teacher or facilitator in helping the learners meet the standards set by the K to
12 Curriculum while overcoming their personal, social, and economic constraints in schooling.
This learning resource hopes to engage the learners into guided and independent learning activities at their
own pace and time. Furthermore, this also aims to help learners acquire the needed 21st century skills while
taking into consideration their needs and circumstances.

What I Need to Know
Today our way of living is greatly affected by the Global Covid-19 Pandemic, especially our community environmental
health. These module will guide you to understand the importance of community and environmental health management to be a
healthy individual, and it will give alternative learning. As a student, you can take part in maintaining and promoting a healthful
community and environmental. This module is for you to reflect and what you should do to sustain community and environmental
healthy, in the midst of crisis today. In the pre-assessment, you will be asked to recall what you had learned from meaningful
experiences of your life relevant to environmental destruction.
The varied competencies shall be your guide on what you are expected to accomplish in this module.

HEALTH mean? What is Community? What is the definition of Community Health? Let us look at more concepts.
What is It
According to the World Health Organization. Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not
just the absence of disease or infirmity. It leads to a socially and economically productive life.
Community is defined as a sociologically group in a large place sharing one environment. It therefore includes the individual
and the family.
Community Health is defined as the art and science of maintaining, protecting and improving the health of all the members
of the community through organized and sustained community efforts.
Environmental Health comprises those aspects of human health that are determined by physical, chemical, biological, social
and psychosocial factors in the surrounding environment.
According to the World Health Organization (2002), the characteristics of a healthy community include:
1. A clean and safe physical environment
2. An environment that meets everyone’s basic needs
3. An environment that promotes social harmony and actively involves everyone

4. An understanding of local health and environment issues
5. A community that participates in identifying local solutions to local problems
6. A community whose members have access to varied experiences, means of interaction and communication

Our government believes that a strong nation needs healthy citizenry. In orders to achieve this, the Department of Health
promoted community health with the partnership of community, barangay, government, and non-governmental organization
through the program called Primary Health Care.

talk to address your sentiments to the people, what would be the content of your message.
1. What are the problems of Mother Earth?
Today with enormous growth in population and the attendant expansion in the exploitation of
energy and material resources, we are faced with concerns regarding the sustainability of
humankinds continued developed on Earth. These concerns, when translated into political debate,
place the citizens, whether or not a scientist, in the position of evaluating the arguments made.
2. How can Mother Earth address her sentiments to the people?
We are encourage to spent much time we care the land, because with out the land we get everything
we need, in order to live to survive. Some people not recognize that Mother Earth is teaching us to
understand life, and through Nature we are able to hear the voice of that spirit through the wind the
bird, the animals the trees and all requires us an individual to make and efforts like to go to the
land to be with in the land.
3. How can she regain strength to reshape her condition amidst the threats she is suffering
nowadays?
What does creation say back. The voice of how much love us Mother Earth want to share with us.
That the message of Mother Earth to bring you love, the responsibilities to reciprocate that love bring
back to her by taking care, respecting look after. The voice of Universe heard from the heart itself.
How do we offer love back to Mother Earth? The human law are people always practice in order to
express/show love to the Earth, never take more them what you need in order to live one of the
beautiful things that Mother Earth to enjoy it offer words of gratitude to her giving
for all thanks that she give us in order to live and to survive and all it about values, and teaching
you, know that return the express of love that come from the Earth itself.
As a humanity in order to learn in this one simple basic throught that the Earth is a living entity,
she’s alive just like any creation where we seen, if Mother Earth did not have spirit of life and how
can we have life.
