and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia
and New Brunswick.

Location:
Canada’s Atlantic Provinces are located on the east coast of Canada next to the Atlantic
Ocean. They are to the east of Ontario and Quebec. They have unique cultures with
French, Celtic, English and First Nations heritage. Nova Scotia is the only constitutionally
official bilingual province in Canada.

Environment:
The Atlantic Provinces have milder weather because they are next
to the Atlantic Ocean. Their summers are hot and fog and rain
are not uncommon. Winters are cool and winter sports such as
skating, skiing, snowboarding are popular. Along the coasts of these
provinces, the weather remains mild in the winter.

Natural Resources:
The Atlantic Provinces are known for fishing.
Farming is also prevalent in these provinces.
Prince Edward Island is well known for its
potatoes.

Wildlife:
Some of the animals that live in the
Atlantic Provinces include: whales, puffins,
seagulls, seals, moose and more.
