Subject: Dust Suppression for Coal Storage Yard

QUERY 1
DESCRIPTION:

According to Section 4.2.2, Book 7 - P2C7S4 of Contract document, a dust suppression water spray system shall be
provided for coal stockpiles. Water sprays shall be provided on both sides of each stockpile. Spray guns shall be
selected and positioned to achieve full and effective coverage of the stockpile faces.

As per the requirement of Contract document, the spray guns will be selected and positioned to achieve full and
effective coverage of the stockpile faces. And, the water spray will be provided on both sides of large coal pile (90m x
473m) but the spray gun will be arranged at the one side only in case of small coal pile (45m x 473m) as shown in
below scheme which had been applied for numerous coal fired power plants in world as well as in Korea. Even
though the spray guns are arranged at the one side only, it can be achieved full and effective coverage of the
stockpile faces as the reference projects in attached. Thus, this scheme has several advantages for O&M points and
spare parts because same size of spray gun is applied. In case of the spray gun arrangement on both sides of small
size stockpiles, the different size of spray gun with one of large stockpiles will be applied and the spare parts should
be also considered.
The Owner, therefore, review and advice for us considering the reference projects and their advantages.

DESCRIPTION:

As large stockpile width is double of small stockpile, spray gun can be cover small pile from one side. EPC
Contractor proposal is acceptable. The Owner is kindly request to make decision.
Moreover, any such agreement or any review shall not relieve the Contractor from any obligation or responsibility.
