Say hello to the NONOs, a notorious crochet gang, which was created to remind us it‘s ok to say

NO every now and then, when everybody around wants something from you. Also watch out for

their bigger versions, which you can find on my website www.polaripop.com.

POLARIPOP WISHES HAPPY CROCHETING WITH THE NONOS!

MATERIALS & TOOLS

- Yarn scraps in 5 colors of choise (sport/fingering) *

- additional white yarn for boots, paws & faces

- additional dark yarn for eyes & snouts

- Crochet hook 2,5 mm / US B1 *

- Tapestry needle (blunt), scissors & some stuffing

- Pliers or tweezer (optional)

The size of your NONOs will be ~ 15 cm / 6 inches

with suggested materials

* I am using Catania by Schachenmayr for most of my smaller dolls, but of course you can choose any yarn or material you want to.
For making amigurumis I recommend using a crochet hook at least 1 size lower/smaller than the suggested size (usually you can find
the suggested size stated on the label of your ball of yarn). This will make your creations strong and sturdy, and you will be able to
stuff them well and tight.

ABBREVIATIONS

To follow the pattern you‘ll only need some basic crochet knowledge. Please have a look at my website

www.Polaripop.com or my youtube channel youtube.com/c/Polaripop for useful tips & tricks.

Note, that the boots, bodies and arms of all Mini-NONOs are the same. Therefore I am showing you how to crochet

these parts only once, and I am using the piglet as an example. You will start all boots with white yarn, and then switch

to the color you chose for the body of your NONO. Same with the arms: start all arms with white yarn, and when the

chart tells you to „change colors“, this is when you change to any color chosen by you for the doll.

BOOTS & LEGS (x2)

Start with white yarn. Don‘t forget to stuff the legs every 3-4 rounds.

Rd 1: MR, and into the ring 5 sc = 5 st

Rd 2: ( inc ) * 5 (+5) = 10 st

Rd 3: 1 rd sc into BLO = 10 st

Rd 4: 1 rd sc = 10 st

Rd 5: 3 sc, dec, dec, 3 sc (-2) = 8 st

Rd 6: 3 sc, dec, 3 sc (-1) = 7 st

Rd 7-9: 3 rds of sc = 7 st

Change colors.

Rd 10: 1 rd sc into BLO = 7 st

Rd 11-20: 10 rds sc = 7 st

LEG 1: Add another 3-4 stitches in the round, until you reach the

back of the leg. Finish off, cut the yarn and weave in the end.

LEG 2: Repeat round 1 to round 20, and add another 2 stiches in the

round, until you reach the crotch of the doll, but do not finish off.

Leg 2 is ready. Do not finish off, but make 3 chains to connect Now make a sc into each of the 3 chains connecting the legs,
leg 2 with leg 1. Now continue with 7 sc around leg 1 (starting and then another 7 sc into the stitches of leg 2. This leaves you
at the crotch of leg 1). with a round of 20 stitches (3 chains, 7 sc around leg 1, sc into
each of the connecting 3 chains, and another 7 sc around leg 2).

BODY

Don‘t forget to stuff the body every now and then. The round

connecting the legs will not count as around. Continue like this:

Rd 1-7: 7 rds of sc = 20 st

Rd 8: ( 3 sc, dec ) * 4 (-4) = 16 st

Rd 9: 1 rd of sc = 16 st

Rd 10: ( 2 sc, dec ) * 4 (-4) = 12 st

Rd 11-13: 3 rds of sc = 12 st

Rd 14: ( dec ) * 6 (-6) = 6 st

Rd 15: 1 rd of sc = 6 st

Finish off and cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for attaching the head.

TIPPS & TRICKS

For a nicer result hold your
NONO upside down, and crochet
1 white rd of slip stitches around
the sole of the boots as shown
in the picture to the left.

ARMS (x2)

Start with white color. Do not stuff the arms.

Rd 1: MR, then crochet 6 sc into the ring = 6 st

Rd 2-3: 2 rds of sc = 6 st

Change colors.

Rd 4: 1 rd of sc into BLO = 6 st

Rd 5-24: 20 rds of sc = 6 st

Finish off and cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for attaching the arms.

This picture shows how to

arrange the arms. Use the tails
you left to attach them to the
body just 2 rounds underneath
the very last round of the neck.

As mentioned before, all bodies and arms of the „NONOs Mini“ are made the same way. Now we come to the heads,

and this is where the NONOs vary. Let‘s give these little guys some personality. We start with Timmy Tough, the piglet:

tapestry needle, and sew the tail through all front loops of the 12

stitches of your previous round. Weave in the ends.

EARS (x2)

Chain 4, and then crochet into these chains (starting with 2. chain from hook): 1 sl st, 1 sc, 1 hdc

Finish off, and use the tails to attach the ears to the rear third of the head.

EYES (OF ALL NONOS):

All NONOs Mini have the same stubborn eyes. Timmy Tough, the piglet, shows you how to embroider them in the

pictures above. One eye should be 5 stitches wide, and positioned approximately 3 stitches underneath the ears.

HARNESS, NOSTRILS & HAIR

Chain 20, and check if the ring is already

fitting around the snout. Add or reduce

some chain stitches if necessary. Close

the chain ring with a slip stitch, and chain

another 25, connecting both sides behind

the head. Reduce or add stitches until it

fits well, and then close with a slip stitch.

Use your crochet hook to attach some

hairstyle to your Willy Wont. If you want

you can also add nostrils to the doll.
