“Patterns”

Dr. Hemant Petwal

What is Pattern ?
• Once data is collected from either single source or multiple heterogeneous sources, It
is analysed.
• The analysis is performed to find the hidden knowledge from the data.
• The hidden knowledge can in various form such that
Events
Repeated Sequence of Shapes
Objects

These Repeated Sequence is called “Patterns”

Let’s Understand Patterns in Depth
• A pattern is a group of data with a recognized structure that analysts try to identify.
• A pattern in the economy is defined as a specific price movement that happens over and
over again.
• A pattern is a series of data that repeats in a recognizable way.
• It can be identified in the history of the asset being evaluated or other assets with similar
characteristics.
• A pattern means that the data (visual or not) are correlated that they have a relationship and
that they are predictable.
• A data pattern is a set of data that follows a recognizable form, which analysts then attempt
to find in the current data.
• When you find a pattern, you can have a good idea when or where something will
happen before it actually happens.
• In other words, a data analysis pattern is a sort of model expressed in a language that
logically describes a solution to a recurring data analysis problem in software engineering.
Various Types of Patterns
• Change:
The trend or instance of observations becoming different over time.

• Clustering:
Collection of data points with similar values
Various Types of Patterns
• Relativity: Observations considered in relation or in proportion to something else

• Ranking: A position in a scale of achievement or status

• Correlation: A mutual relationship or connection between two or more things.
