course for Educators

What is the course about?

The course is specifically designed for educators in order for them to develop a deeper
understanding of the various child protection concerns that their learners might face both offline
and online. Crafted by the DepEd Learner Rights and Protection Office and Stairway
Foundation, the course aims to empower educators to be have the knowledge and tools to
participate more in the protection of the learners they work with.

How is the course delivered?

The course is fully asynchronous, and thus, you can take the lessons at any time depending in
your availability. The course contains short videos lessons, interactive content and resource
links.

Objectives of the Course

At the end of the course, participants are expected to;

1. Identify the various offline and online child protection concerns that learners might
encounter.
2. Identify the various means these child protection concerns might be perpetrated.
3. Identify the various means of integrating Child Protection into their lessons.
4. Distinguish what DepEd policy and protocol should be applied for specific child
protection concerns.
5. Be introduced to the various initiatives of DepEd in relation to child protection

1. User Account Creation

2. Course Enrollment
a. After logging in or creating your user account (making sure you are
logged in), come back to this course via

b. Enter the enrollment key DEPEDCHILDPRO2023 via the selfenrollment
section which can be found at the bottom of the self-enrollment page.
c. You are now enrolled! The course will be available in your e-learning
dashboard

1. The course is fully asynchronous and self-paced, with NO webinars.

2. Self-enrollment is from October 16 to December 20, 2023
3. The course will run from October 23 to December 23, 2023
4. The course is FREE of charge
5. The course is NEAP accredited with corresponding professional development credits.
6. The course is CPD accredited as well, with 15 CPD points.
7. Certificates are auto-generated for successful course completers and can be immediately
downloaded.

Course Reminders

1. Access via a laptop or desktop is recommended, as some of the activities in the course are
easier to navigate using such devices. If one uses mobile digital devices such as phones or
tablets, we cannot guarantee an optimal user experience.
2. A working Internet connection of at least 5mbps is required, but the course has been
shown to work even in much slower connections, but this will also depend on other
factors (such as the quality of the Internet connection itself)
