Read the story below. Circle the action words used in the story.

The Peacock and the Crane

Aesop’s Fable

A peacock meets a crane one day. The peacock tries to

impress him by spreading his gorgeous tail.

"Look," he said. "What do you have that compares with this? I

am dressed in all the glory of the rainbow, while your feathers

are gray as dust!"

The crane spread his wings and flew up the sky.

"Follow me if you can," he said. But the peacock stood among

the barnyard birds while the crane soars in freedom far up

into the blue sky.
