MOST ESSENTIAL LEARNING 2. Evaluates a function.
COMPETENCIES (MELCS)

At the end of this lesson, the learners will be able to:

1. Define and illustrate functions using ordered pairs, table of values, graphs, equations, and
SPECIFIC LEARNING OUTCOMES real-life situations;
2. Evaluate functions;
3. Determine the domain and range of a function.
TIME ALLOTMENT 4 hours – 2 sessions

PROCEDURES MEETING THE LEARNERS’ NEEDS

1. INTRODUCTION Teacher Tip:
 The teacher asks the students if they have the idea/s how to make a shake (like mango
shake,chocolate shake and etc.)
 The teacher shows pictures of the things needed in making the shake (ingredients,
blender machine)
 The teacher shows the students how to make a shake.
 The teacher relates the procedure of making a shake to a function.
2. MOTIVATION Teacher Tip:
 The teacher introduce the mini game called “PAIR ME”.
 The teacher gives instructions how the game is done.
 The teacher introduce the topic.
3. INSTRUCTION Teacher Tip:
 The teacher discusses the topic to the class.
 The teacher gives more examples.
 The teacher apply function in real-life situations.

4. PRACTICE Teacher Tip:

 The teacher gives more examples and let the students answer the examples.

5. ENRICHMENT Teacher Tip:

 The teacher let the students do the board work activity.

6. EVALUATION Teacher Tip:

 The teacher gives written activity to the students.
