COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course deals with building acoustics and lighting and how they are applied
in architectural design.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES

Acquire knowledge on the different aspects of acoustics and lighting

principles, design, and application;
Recognize the importance of acoustics and lighting in the design of
buildings or structures;
Gain considerable knowledge on the practical application of the concepts
and principles in acoustics and lighting relative to designing space and
building envelope; and
Establish fundamental knowledge on the psychological and physiological
effects of sound and light on building occupants.

MODE OF DELIVERY

This course will be delivered through Hybrid learning. Using Google

classroom as the main platform in Issuing requirements and Face to Face
classes in executing and submitting requirements. An option for which platform
to use for synchronous classes can be discussed depending on the platform
available to students. Quizzes and exams will be conducted through face face
set up.

disregard of unnecessary embellishments and
use of materials in their truest form.

CLASS RULES

Your attendance will be measured through your presence in

accomplishing your quizzes, group works, and exams.
Late submissions may be accepted but will be penalized with
deductions. However, since this is online learning: connectivity issues
may arise; emergencies may also happen. If this is the case polish a valid
reason and proof. Send it to my email with the email subject
"Surname_Subject_ExcuseLetter"
Be polite and let's respect each other
I will not grant an extension of plates for the whole class unless there
will be force majeure and/or events that overlap with the submission of
the activity.
Do not send me a personal message if it is about the activity, you can
directly send it to the group chat for this class so that everyone of you
will be well informed.
Acknowledgment in the form of a reply or like or a positive emoticon
would suffice if I will be having an announcement via group chat, this
way i can track if students got the message across.
If you will not be able to attend the zoom class meeting. you do not
need to message me. just leave or do not attend totally. It will be fine,
just find a way to be updated with what was discussed or given.
I do not check attendance. read the first item again.
We will have class codes. It will be given to you once the list of
BUILDING UTILITIE 3 are completed.

MAJOR PLATE RULES
Upon having late submission of your Activities. You will automatically get
the lowest score of the students who passed on time. Be it a passing
score or not.
Be disciplined, do your course requirements now and procrastinate
later. Time Management is a very important skill that you should develop
here in your architecture journey.
Make reading a habit! Do not ask me for information that was already
given to you. Always take the initiative to research and process ideas.
Let's be on track with the course requirements for Building Tech 1 and
you will be on your way to the next sem.
Each activity will have its own project brief with a set of rules and
guidelines. You must read it thoroughly.
Do not compare your scores to others, every one of you is unique so find
your groove and do what works for you and then develop, improve and
grow.
If you will not make it this semester, do not falter. Everyone has his/her
own pacing.
Failing a subject doesn't mean you are a failure. It means you are in that
situation because you are being prepared for something much bigger.
If you will be asking me a question. As much as possible it should be
answerable by yes or no only.
Students who will submit a late plate, will not receive any comments or
remarks on their plates.

GRADING RULES
I will release scores of your activity after a week. This is the reason late
activities and extensions of deadlines will not be tolerated that much.
0-based computation shall be used for computing your grades. please
see the percentage of course requirements below.
At the end of every term, you will be able to compute for your term
grade wherein you can access and recalibrate what and where to focus.
