Accomplished Teacher Observation Forms 3.) Narrative of Teacher Observations for the Month In Ms. Ke-e’s Grade 11 HUMSS B class in General Mathematics 1, the teacher provided an activity that will help assess student’s attainment to the lesson’s objective which is to compute interest, maturity value, future value and present value in simple interest. The teacher utilizes a PowerPoint presentation and student books in conducting the activity. The students interacted and participated well by asking clarifications in completing the task provided. But as lots of students seek help to the teacher, the classroom to become a bit noisy but the teacher smoothly manages the students to calm down and kept the students to be on track in achieving the lesson’s goals.
In Mrs. Sumonod’s 11 STEM A class in General Mathematics 1, the students
showed active participation as they had discussions on determining intercepts, zeroes, and asymptotes of an exponential functions and graphing it too. The teacher utilizes technology by allowing students to use the desmos app for their graphs. Despite that the students utilizes their phone to use the desmos app and be more engaged and actively participate in the lesson, the teacher checks their phone activity by randomly providing students with prompt questions related to the activity and calling them to solve the problem on the board. This method helps students to gain skills in handling technology involving graph simulation and at the same time, they can manually support their answers through written solutions.
In Mr. Maravelles’ 12 STEM B class in General Physics 1, the students actively
participated in their class discussion on determining the net gravitational force on a mass given a system of point masses. The teacher utilizes reference books and allows students to use scientific calculator to solve the amount of gravitational forces experienced by point masses relative to earth. The teacher provides a board activity where students have to solve series of word problem and explain how they come up with the solution. Some students become way too engage with the lesson that they become a bit overpowering to the rest of the students. But the teacher handled the situation really well by providing these students the chance to expressed their ideas every after doing the board activity. 4.) Other Matters Teachers are reminded with the task submission and values integration every class. Science Month culminating activity was successfully conducted last September 28, 2023, 2:00 – 4:00 in the afternoon for the senior high school department and September 29, 2023, 10:00 – 12:00 in the morning for the junior high school department. The program started on time and ended on time. For further improvement, the participants of the contest that has to be conducted during the culminating activity should be given a re-orientation on the rules to have a more continuous flow of the program. Overall, the students enjoyed and were delighted that a lot of them receive awards from the ample activities conducted during science month.
