1 QUARTER NATIONWIDE SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL

I. BACKGROUND:

The 2022 1st Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill was scheduled by
the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) and the Office
of Civil Defense (OCD). These agencies had informed all Local Disaster Risk Reduction and
Management Council (LDRRMCs) in Region XII through the Office of Civil Defense
Regional Office XII.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council through the
Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office headed by Diosdado F. Duque,
MDRRMO, had spearheaded the activity which was participated and supported by the
Municipal Employees, Antipas PNP and BFP. It was conducted at the Municipal Hall,
Antipas, Cotabato.

The activity had ensured that the health protocol was observed to minimize COVID -
19 incidents and safeguard them for infections.

The activity equipped the participants in earthquake preparedness awareness and have
learned the things to do during and after the earthquake especially the concept and purpose of
duck, cover, and hold.

The Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) refers to an NDRRMC event conducted
to test the preparedness of the society in times of sudden calamities.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council Chairman Hon. Egidio D.
Cadungon Jr. and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Head Diosdado F. Duque
spearheaded the 2nd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill. The activity was
participated by MDRRMO staff and facilitated the teachers and students on different elementary
schools in the municipality.

The activity had ensured that the health protocol was observed to minimize COVID -19 incidents
and safeguard them for infections.

The activity has provided the students information on the earthquake preparedness and response
in the event of earthquake. They were thought on how to duck, cover and hold.

Cadungon and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Head Diosdado F. Duque
spearheaded the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill. The activity was
participated by different personnel and offices of the LGU.

The activity had ensured that the health protocol was observed to minimize COVID -19 incidents
and safeguard them for infections.

The activity has provided the students information on the earthquake preparedness and response
in the event of earthquake. They were thought on how to duck, cover and hold.
