CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
Created and led the XYZ Asia Pacific Financials Shared Service with 35 businesses across 13 countries in
support of an aggressive regional acquisition strategy. Agreed an implementation program (covering both
business and technology) with regional and business CFO’s and built the team and relationships required
to execute over a 3 year term.
Reduced the cost (40% unit cost reduction) and Risk (50% reduction in production defects) of mainframe
development by building a skilled team of 115 offshore resources and implementing intellectual capital
and risk management strategies.
Reduced outstanding mainframe high severity support issues from greater than 100 to less than 10 by
exiting an underperforming vendor and restructuring support model with new vendor.
Successfully secured multi-million dollar funding for JKL enhancement by articulating the business case
and vision to members of the executive.
Delivered 35% cost savings, while protecting grade of service, of midrange development and support by
identifying and rationalising services, engaging 3rd parties for appropriate outsource opportunities, and
managing all internal and external stakeholders.
Graduate of Jilly’s Experienced Information Management Program (EIMP) where participation is via
invitation/selection only, and targeted at employees earmarked for the CIO ranks. Attended classroom
based sessions in Crotonville, NY and MIT, Boston, plus two international projects, in this case
conducted at NBC/Universal in New York, and Jilly Capital International in Tokyo.
Achieved organisational acceptance of cross functional architectural and execution methodology change
within specified time frame by communicating actions and impacts with senior executives and other key
stakeholders.
Implemented over 20 National Pollutant Inventory (NPI’s) and regulatory and industry requirements such
as Myer Visa card, Harvey Norman GO MasterCard, Wizard Clear Advantage MasterCard.
Improved time to market by reviewing, analysing, then implementing changes to successfully reduce
project initiation lifecycle from 12 weeks to 3 weeks.
Executed outcomes while successfully addressing continued accountability for Asia Pacific Shared
Service responsibilities as Application Development Support Leader.
Created a single team from the previously separate Mainframe and Midrange teams, setting the vision and
integrating the culture and behaviours required for a high performing team.
Addressed this role while successfully maintaining full accountability for Asia Pacific Shared Service
Mid range Development and support leadership role.
Created a team of 60 through acquisition integration and the requirements driven by technology evolution
and developed, mentored and led to ensure production was addressed on time and within quality
standards.
Maintained this role while also successfully addressing continued accountability for Asia Pacific Shared
Service Financial leader role.
Established a cost and service model that was considered global best practice within Jilly. As an example
of success, the Indian businesses outsourced their finance system to the Australian operation – quite a
reversal of the norm.
Migrated all acquired companies within the region to the Alot Finance System and Chart of Accounts
within the 100 day “non-negotiable” period.
