강강술래는 손잡고 원을 그리며 가무하는 기본형을 바탕으로 여러 가지 놀이가 결합된

가무놀이다. 강강술래라고 부른 이유는 노래의 매소절마다 ‘강강술래’라는 받는 소리가 붙기
때문이다. 강강술래의 말뜻은 정확히 밝혀지는 바 없다. 전통적으로 강강술래는 우리나라의
대표적인 세시절기인 설, 대보름, 단오, 백중, 추석, 9 월 중구 밤에 연행되었으며 특히 팔월
추석날 밤에 대대적인 강강술래 판이 펼쳐졌다.

강강술래는 노래, 무용, 음악이 삼위일체의 형태로 이루어진 원시종합예술이다. 춤을 추는

여성들 중에서 노래 잘하는 한 사람이 설소리(앞소리)를 하면 모든 사람들이 뒷소리를 받는
선후창의 형태로 노래되며, 노랫소리에 맞춰 많은 여성들이 손에 손을 잡고 둥글게 원을 그리며
춤을 춘다. 민요와 민속무용이 일체화되며, 북이나 장구 등 한국의 전통적인 농악기로 반주를
하여 민속음악이 흥을 더한다.

Ganggangsullae is a traditional Korean circle dance that combines various games based on the
basic form of holding hands and creating circles. It is called Ganggangsullae because the sound
"Ganggangsullae" is added to each verse of the song. The exact meaning of Ganggangsullae is
not precisely known. Traditionally, Ganggangsullae was performed during Korea's major
traditional festivals such as Seollal, Daboreum, Dano, Baekjung, Chuseok, and on the night of
the 9th month. Particularly, a grand Ganggangsullae event unfolded on the night of Chuseok in
the eighth month.
Ganggangsullae is a primitive comprehensive art form that combines song, dance, and music.
When a woman who dances well among those dancing starts singing, others follow in a call-and-
response form, holding hands and dancing in a circle. Folk songs and traditional dance are
integrated, accompanied by traditional Korean musical instruments such as the drum and janggu,
enhancing the appeal of folk music.

protection. Traditionally, clothing has been a significant means of indicating the social status of
the wearer, and even today, clothes remain a crucial means of self-expression. The phrase
'clothes are wings' encapsulates this function of clothing. People generally form impressions of
others based on their outward appearance, and 'clothes' play a vital role in this process. Wearing
good clothes can make a person look appealing, while poorly chosen clothes may have the
opposite effect. Consequently, the treatment one receives can vary based on their clothing
choices.
