Most of the students in the public schools in the Philippines are enrolled. Most of

the families in the Philippines both in provincial settings are being stage of average,

according to DepEd a 2020 report, the percentage of public schools that require school

improper uniforms to 51% in the 2017-2018 school year. School improper uniforms

were most frequently required by elementary schools (23%), followed by middle (18%),

because they do not feel comfortable Johnson, et.al, (2011). Results reflected a

environment, criminality rates, student actions, and attitudes Russell (2012) states that

uniforms can also increase attendance rates, and prevent the forming of gangs and

groups that might end in further bad behavior Stephanie (2016)

wearing improper uniforms of Grade 11 GAS in San Juan National High School, this

General Academic Strand (GAS) students in San Juan National High School 2023 2024.

The study will focus only on identifying the factors why students don’t wear proper

uniforms in school, the possible consequences for those students who are not wearing

school uniforms, and the relationship between wearing an appropriate school uniform

and the academic performance of students. Only grade 11 GAS will be the respondents

in this research. Grade 11 students in other academic strands or students from other

grade levels are excluded from this study.

Significance of the study

The findings of the study will be beneficial to the student's parents, teachers, school

staff, and future researchers. For students, it can help them to understand and be

aware that wearing proper school attire for both public and private schools is required

during classes. It allows students to focus on schoolwork.

Parents can also benefited from this research because they will be able to identify

that children have reasons why they are not wearing proper school uniforms. By

knowing about the reason of children, parents can give them advice. This advice can

lead students to realize that wearing school uniforms is important.

This study will help teachers to determine the factors why students are wearing

improper school uniforms. With this knowledge, teachers can guide those students that

wearing proper uniforms is considered the value of rules and regulations.

For school administrators and staff, the findings of the study can be used to

develop new policies that can promote or encourage students to wear proper uniforms

to distinguish the image of the school.
