A line is defined as the shortest distance between two points. It is something that joins two
points. It has position and length.
A point is something that has position.
TYPES AND USES OF LINES

LINES USES OF LINES

1 Thick continuous line It is used for visible outlines and edges.
2 Thin continuous line It is used for dimension lines, projection
lines and construction lines.
3 Arrow head line It is used at the end of dimension.
4 Thin ruled with zig-zag line It is used for long break lines.
5 Thick short line/thick dash line …………………. It is used for hidden outlines and edges.
6 Thin short line/thin dash line …………………. It is used for hidden outlines and edges.
7 Thick long chain line It is used for cutting and viewing planes.
8 Thin long chain It is used for Centre lines, pitch circle lines,
path lines for indicating movement.
9 Thick wavy line It is used for short break and irregular
boundary lines.
