1. DRAWING PAPER A3 SIZE (297 X 420 MM)

Drawing paper is the paper, on which


drawing is to be made.

Desirable properties a good drawing


paper:
❑ It should be smooth and uniform in
thickness.
❑ It should be thick, strong and tough.
❑ Fibers of drawing paper should not
be disintegrated when a good eraser
is used on it. Fig. 1.3 Standard size of drawing paper

2. DRAWING BOARD A3 SIZE (45 X 35 CM)
• The flat surface of the drawing board is used to
hold the drawing paper while the drawing is being
made.
• The ebony strip of the board is used as a guide for
the stock of the T-square.

3. TRIANGLES (SET SQUARE) 30 CM


• Used to construct the most common angles (i.e.
300, 450, 600) in technical drawings.
• Used to draw parallel and perpendicular lines
quickly and conveniently.

4. T- SQUARE 45 CM
It is used primarily to draw
horizontal straight lines and
for guiding the triangles
when drawing vertical and
inclined lines.

5. PENCILS 2H & HB
• Pencils are used to draw different lines, shapes, symbols and to
write texts in engineering drawing.
• Lead pencils are classified in three major grades as hard,
medium and soft.

6. COMPASS
• Compass used to form a circle line or arc.
• Consisting of two sticks that the one end
could be met and can be adjusted.
• One end contain trick to be put on-
centred something circle, or arc and end
that another is pencil to draw line.

7. DIVIDER
• Nearly identical with compass, the
difference divider have two needle
points.
• Divider used to divide something
distance to several same division too or to
move something distance once or repeat.

8. SCALE (RULER)
Scales are used to make drawing of the
objects to proportionate size desired.

9. PROTRACTOR
To get point of angle or to measure the angle.

10. PAPER MASKING TAPE


To help keep the paper well positioned.

11. PENCIL KNIFE AND SHARPENER


Tool for sharpening a pencil’s writing point
by shaving away its worn surface.

12. ERASER
• Used to erase line that draw by pencil.
• High quality eraser required : to avoid
line that erase not leave effect to drawing
paper surface.

13. ERASER SHIELD


To allow erasers to be used through them to
erase lines and text without removing lines
close by which do not need to be (or should
not be) erased.

14. FRENCH CURVES AND FLEXIBLE CURVE


It is used to draw irregular curves that are not
circle arcs.
