Task Overview:

In this summative task, you will explore the life of an immigrant from Bangladesh who has

My research question:

"What drives Bangladeshi immigrants to relocate to China, and what challenges do

they face during the migration process and as they adjust to their new life?

Justification of my research question:

Since it is clear and focuses on the goals, challenges, and adaptations faced by
Bangladeshi immigrants in China, this research topic is perfect. Its summarised
structure guarantees a targeted investigation of the principal elements of the
experience of immigrants. The significance of the question comes from its capacity
to provide insightful information and conduct a thorough analysis of the encounter.
By indirectly promoting comparison analysis, it advances a thorough understanding
of how these components may vary among Bangladeshi immigrants in China. Its
open-ended nature also makes it possible to create a complex narrative with a
variety of viewpoints and contexts, which makes it a strong starting point for a
thorough analysis of the experience of immigrants.

Push factors:

Economic challenges, political instability,

social or religious issues, environmental
hazards, overpopulation, limited educational
opportunities, healthcare concerns, and
natural resource depletion all contribute to
migration in Bangladesh. The interconnected
nature of these factors drives individuals to
seek better opportunities abroad,
highlighting the complexities of the reasons
for Bangladeshi migration.

Challenges faced

Despite the positive pull factors, immigrants

in China, including those from Bangladesh,
face a variety of difficulties. These difficulties
include cultural adjustment, language
barriers, and the possibility of
discrimination. Navigating complex legal
systems, finding work, and finding suitable
housing can be difficult tasks. Overcoming
these obstacles requires resilience, strong
community support, and efforts to promote
inclusivity.

Contribution

Bangladeshi immigrants enrich Chinese

culture by sharing their customs, cuisine,
and traditions. This cultural exchange
benefits local communities by encouraging
diversity and understanding. Their unique
perspectives and skills contribute to a more
inclusive and vibrant Chinese society in the
workplace and in social settings. Bangladeshi
