Inferring the Target Audience

Audience – refers to the viewers or people who watch films or television programs. Also, it is the assembled
spectators in shows and events performed live.

Authentic Texts – are texts or other materials that are used in real-life functions such as to inform,
entertain, explain, instruct, or convince.

Informational Texts – is a kind of text that is intended to provide information about people, objects, or
events.

Form – is a kind of document that requires users to fill out space or lines with details and information as
required by the form provider.

Glossary – is an alphabetical list of words found usually in the final pages of a book.

Index – is an alphabetical list of words without their definitions.

MATHEMATICS

Objectives:

Lesson 10 – Understanding ratio

- The “word notation” is simply the notation or ratio in words.

- Ratio is the comparison of two or more quantities that may or may not involve the same type of
objects.

- Fractional notation is the notation used when fractions are used to express ratios.

- Odds notation is the notation for ratios that state the odds in which an event would happen.

- A scale factor is a number in which we multiply or divide each term into ratio

- Ratios that can be obtained by multiplying or dividing a scale factor are said to be equivalent ratios.

Lesson 3: Cardiorespiratory System

Cardiorespiratory System
- is the body system specialized in carrying out this process in our body. The human cardiorespiratory
system is composed of different parts that work together. They carry out the essential task of gas
exchange.
Main Parts of cardiorespiratory system
1. nasal cavity
2. Pharynx- throat, larynx-voice box
3. Trachea-wind pipe
4. Bronchi, bronchioles and alveoli
5. Lungs- main organ for breathing
Alveoli- it is where the exchange of gas happen.
6. Diaphragm- controls breathing.
Other components of Cardiorespiratory system
1. Heart - pumping organ of cardiovascular system.
4 chambers of the heart: left and right atria and left and right ventricle
Atria or atrium- responsible for receiving blood coming from all parts of the body.
Ventricles- pumping chambers of the heart
2. Blood vessels – network tubes.
a. Arteries- blood vessels that carry blood away from the heart
Aorta- largest artery
Arterioles- smallest artery
b. Veins- blood vessels that carry blood toward the heart
Vena cava- largest veins
Venules-smallest veins
c. Capillaries- smallest blood vessels

Blood Circulation
1. Pulmonary circulation- is the movement of deoxygenated blood from the heart and into the lungs.
2. Systemic circulation- movement of oxygenated blood from the heart going to the different parts of the
body.

Lesson 4: Appropriate food items to Preserve

Appropriate food groups include fruits, vegetables, meat, and fish.


The qualities of food items used to process for preservation influence the fin product in terms of taste,
appearance, and flavor. Good quality ingredients result excecellent product.
Study the following pointers in the selection of food to preserve:

Digital painting- is an avenue for an artist to transform their ideas, images and feelings with the use of
technology.
Brushes- are the heart of painting software programs
Brushes that illustrate the range of artists brushes
1. Impasto- uses technique so that it achieves a kind of three-dimensional quality. Uses by Vam Gogh
and Rembrandt.
2. Spattering- the technique is about the application of paint onto a surface by flicking, dripping or
whisking the paint from a brush. Jackson Pollock uses this technique.
3. Pointilization- refers to the digital process of rendering a figure or shape in dots or small brush
strokes of colors.
Pointilist Brush allows you to mix color optically and provides impressive colorful dots.
4. Hard-Edge- thin or wide lines can be created to help define shapes and set off the colors.- Frank
Stella is the famous painter in herd-edge.
5. Impressionist- imitates the style of painting of late 19th century impressionism.
6. Palette-knife does not add color, it just smears the colors that are already present, including any
background color.
Lesson 5: Graphic Design (Poster Layout)
Graphic design-helps in communicating specific message through the use of words and pictures.
Posters- are visually appealing that make them effective medium for selling or advertising.
Poster layout- refers to how elements found within the poster or arranged . The right typeface or font
style used in posters helps communicate message more effectively.
