Meeting called to order promptly at 9:30 AM in attendance 17

Joannie Shalls with SCPS opened the meeting Joannie Introduced herself and the members made introductions.

Approval of Minutes:
Joannie Shalls approved and Rachel Slavkin seconded.
Presentation ● Jess Miller from Best Buddies International presented information
regarding their services and the inclusive programs they offer for
people with intellectual disabilities. Best Buddies offers 4 pillar
programs: Friendship, Jobs, Leadership Development, and Living.

Announcements ● SCPS Transition Fair will be January 20th 9AM-12PM at Winter

Springs High School
● Camp Challenge has begun their weekend camp programs.
● Magnify will have career camps March 11th-14th and 18th-21st
for students as young as 14 years old. They are also offering
Discovery Services.
● Orange Technical College:
o Build Your Future is conducting interviews and accepting
applications for August enrollment. They will be adding
Lodging Operations to the program next school year.
o OTC Expo will be held on February 26th on their south
campus. The Expo highlights all their programs and is
primarily for students in high school looking for their
next steps.
● NonPareil will be hosting a fashion show in April highlighting
their students’ digital creations.
● RAISE is starting to take applications for September enrollment.
● Progressive Abilities Support Services (PASS) has a new initiative
to engage the community and expand their mission. They are
reaching out to community partners to participate in speaking
engagements to educate the community to increase diversity and
inclusion.
● Goodwill is promoting the transition services they offer beyond
retail.
