her night dress, but she stops him. Removes his hand.
SIDNEY
Okay. Okay, okay. Time's up, stud
bucket.
BILLY
See what you do to me?
Sidney laughs.
SIDNEY
You know what my dad will do to you?
BILLY
Yeah. I'm going.
SIDNEY
Okay.
24. .

They both gets. Billy goes to the window -- Sidney behind.

They kiss once again.
SIDNEY
You know, I -- I appreciate to
romantic gesture.
BILLY
Okay. About the - uh - the sex
stuff? You know, I'm not trying to
rush you at all, I was only half
serious.
SIDNEY
(chuckles)
Okay.
Sidney kisses him one last time. Billy finally goes out
through the window when:
SIDNEY
Hey, Billy. Would you settle for a
PG-13 relationship?
BILLY
What's that?
FROM BEHIND SIDNEY: She unbutton the top of the night dress,
showing her breast to Billy. He laughs. She laughs.
BILLY
My God. You're just a tease.
Billy disappears out of the window. Sidney turns. Silence.
Quiet.

40 EXT. WOODSBORO HIGH SCHOOL - MORNING 40

The CAMERA pulls down from the sky. We see the WOODSBORO HIGH
SCHOOL. An old simple school. Nothing special. The CAMERA
pulls down showing the whole school from the top to the bottom.
DISPATCHER (O.S.)
(on police radio)
35-14... Situation under control.
MAN (O.S.)
Roger, dispatch. 35, I copy.
The CAMERA pulls down as we see now: RED and BLUE LIGHTS. Four
POLICE JEEPS and three NEWS VANS besides the SIDEWALK. COPS in

uniform and REPORTERS are everywhere. Some students walk,

going to school. We go down on the--

41 EXT. SIDEWALK - MORNING (CONTINUOUS) 41

We finally see Sidney coming. She seems estranged and confused
by the confusion. The CAMERA follows her through the people.
REPORTER
... are dealing drugs, that they are
high in the classrooms, and that they
are involved in the occult.
WOMAN
Occult?
Sidney suddenly stops.
REPORTER #2 (O.S.)
The small town of Woodsboro,
California, was devastated last night
when two young teenagers were found
brutally murdered.
The CAMERA turns from Sidney to shot the Reporter who is
talking. We see a woman: GALE WEATHERS (middle 30's). She is
talking directly to the camera, hold by KENNY.
GALE (CONT'D)
Authorities have yet to issue a
statement, but our sources tell us
that no arrest has been made, and the
murderer could strike again --
RETURN ON SIDNEY:
A girl approaches Sidney: TATUM RILEY (18). Blonde and pretty-
the type of most popular of the school.
TATUM
Do you believe this shit?
Sidney gasps.
SIDNEY
Tatum, what is going on?
TATUM
You don't know?
SIDNEY
No.
26. .

TATUM
Casey Becker and Steve Orth were
killed last night.
SIDNEY
What? No way.
TATUM
And we're not just talking killed,
we're talking splatter-movie killed,
ripped open from end to end.
SIDNEY
Casey Becker? She sits next to me in
English.
TATUM
Not anymore. It's so sad. Her mom
and dad found her hanging from a
tree, her inside on the outside.
SIDNEY
Oh my God. Do they know who did it?

42 EXT. SCHOOL - MORNING (CONTINUOUS) 42

Sidney and Tatum -- walking through the people -- arrive to the
school entrance.
TATUM
Fucking clueless. I mean, they're
interrogating the entire school,
teachers, students, janitors.
SIDNEY
They think it's school-related?
TATUM
They don't know. I mean, Dewey was
saying this is the worst crime
they've seen in years, even worse
than --
Tatum stops. Looks at Sidney. The school bell RINGS.
TATUM
Well... It's bad.
Tatum walks away -- leaving Sidney.
27. .

43 INT. SCHOOL - CLASS - MORNING (LATER) 43

An empty seat. Casey's. Sidney is staring at it -- as
everybody else.
STUDENT (O.S.)
Here you go, Mrs. Tate.
MRS. TATE (O.S.)
Thank you, Jimmy. Sidney?
Sidney turns the look to Mrs. Tate.
MRS. TATE
It would appear to be your turn.
Sidney gets up and goes.

44 INT. SCHOOL - PRINCIPAL OFFICE - MORNING (SAME MOMENT) 44

Three men -- two older, one younger. The PRINCIPAL HIMBRY
(50's) standing up. The SHERIFF BURKE (60's) sitting. Agent
DEWEY RILEY (25) -- Tatum's brother -- leaning on the wall.
SHERIFF BURKE
Who's up next?
PRINCIPAL HIMBRY
Sidney --
HIMBRY/DEWEY
Prescott.
PRINCIPAL HIMBRY (CONT'D)
She was daughter of...
Dewey clears his throat. There is Sidney standing on the door.
PRINCIPAL HIMBRY
Sidney.
(to Woman)
Thank you.
WOMAN
Okay.
Himbry let Sidney sits on the chair in the middle of office.
SHERIFF BURKE
Hi, Sidney.
SIDNEY
Sheriff Burke. Dewey.
28. .

DEWEY
That's Deputy Riley today, Sid.
SHERIFF BURKE
How is everything?
SIDNEY
Good.
SHERIFF BURKE
And your dad? How's he doing?
SIDNEY
We're fine, thanks.
PRINCIPAL HIMBRY
We're gonna keep this very brief,
Sidney. The police just wanna ask
you a few questions. You okay?
Himbry caress Sidney's face.
SIDNEY
Mm-hmm.
Sheriff looks really bad at Himbry. What did he do?
SHERIFF BURKE
Sidney, were you very close to Casey
Becker?
CUT TO:

45 EXT. PARK - DAY 45

An announcer in a little park near the school, starts:
PRINCIPAL HIMBRY (O.S.)
(via PA)
Remember, your principal loves you,
and I want you to be safe. All
students are encouraged to return
their homes promptly from school
grounds. Avoid strangers. Walks in
twos or threes groups --
The CAMERA pulls down the announcer to reveal: the Gang.
Billy, Sidney, Tatum are sitting on the edge of a fountain.
With them there are STUART MACHER (18) -- Tatum's boyfriend --
and RANDY MEEKS (18).
29. .

TATUM
(to Sidney)
What kind of question did they ask
you?
SIDNEY
They asked me if I knew Casey.
TATUM
Yeah, they ask me that, too.
STU
(to Billy)
Hey, did they ask if you like the
hunt?
BILLY
Yeah, they did, they asked you?
TATUM
Hunt? Why would they ask you if you
like the hunt?
RANDY
'Cause their bodies were gutted.
BILLY
(ironically)
Thank you, Randy.
TATUM
They didn't ask me if I like the
hunt.
STU
'Cause there's no way a girl could
have kill 'em.
TATUM
That is so sexist. The killer could
easily be female. Basic Instinct?
RANDY
That was an ice pick. Not exactly
the same thing.
STU
Yeah, Casey and Steve were completely
hollowed out. The fact is that takes
a man to do something like that.
TATUM
Or a man's mentality.
30. .

SIDNEY
(thinking)
How do you gut someone?
Silence. Everybody turns to Sidney. Nobody is talking.
STU
You take a knife... and you slit 'em
from groin to sternum.
RANDY
Hey! It's called tact, you fuck-rag.
SIDNEY
Hey, Stu didn't you used to date
Casey?
STU
(laughing)
Yeah, for like two seconds.
RANDY
Before she dumped him for Steve.
TATUM
(surprised)
I thought you dumped her for me.
STU
I did it, he's full of shit.
RANDY
And are the police aware that you
dated the victim?
STU
Then, what are you saying? That I
killed her?
RANDY
That would certainly improve your
High School "Q".
TATUM
Stu was with me last night, okay?
STU
Yeah, I was.
RANDY
Was that before or after he sliced
and diced?
Sidney seems feeling this inappropriate.
31. .

TATUM
Fuck you nutcase. Where were you
last night?
RANDY
Working, thanks.
TATUM
Oh, at the video store? I thought
they fired you, sorry ass.
RANDY
Twice!
Randy smiles to her. A little strange.
STU
I didn't kill anybody.
BILLY
Nobody said you did.
STU
Thanks, buddy.
RANDY
Besides...
(imitating Stu)
It takes a man to do something like
that.
STU
I'm gonna gut your ass in a sec, kid.
RANDY
Tell me something.
(cartoon voice)
Did you really put her liver in the
mailbox? 'Cause I heard that they
found her liver in the mailbox next
to her spleen and her pancreas.
TATUM
Randy, you goon, fuck! I'm trying to
eat here. Uh?
STU
She's getting mad, Randy. Better
leave 'er alone.
In the meanwhile, Sidney -- exhausted -- takes her rucksack.
She kisses Billy. Then she gets up and goes away from them.
Stu starts laughing.
32. .

STU
"Leave 'er alone"!
Stu continues to laugh. Billy hits him.
STU
Ouch... Leave 'er. Liver. Liv --
It was a joke.

SIDNEY
So, you sure I can stay over? 'Cause
my dad won't be back till Sunday.

No prob. I'll pick you after
practice.
Sidney walks up the stairway.
TATUM (O.S.)
You okay?
SIDNEY
Uh-huh.

Hello?

Practice ran late, I'm on my way,
okay?
Sidney looks at the clock.
SIDNEY
It's past 7:00.
TATUM (O.S.)
Don't worry. Casey and Steve didn't

SIDNEY
Oh. Oh, that's comforting.
35. .

TATUM (O.S.)
I'm passing by the video store. I

SIDNEY
Whatever, just -- hurry up, okay?
TATUM (O.S.)
Ta-ta, Sid.
Sidney hangs up. As she puts the phone right back the phone

SIDNEY
Tatum, just get in the car --
VOICE (O.S.)
Hello, Sidney.
Is HIM. Is the voice of GHOSTFACE.
SIDNEY
(confused)
Uh -- Hi. Who's this?
VOICE (O.S.)
You tell me.
SIDNEY
Well, I -- I've no idea.
VOICE (O.S.)
Scary night, isn't it? With a murder
and all it's like right out of a
horror movie or something.
Sidney laughs.
SIDNEY
Randy you gave yourself away. Are
you calling from work? 'Cause Tatum
is on her way over.
Sidney turns on a lamp.
VOICE (O.S.)
Do you like scary movies, Sidney?
SIDNEY

What's your favorite scary movie?
SIDNEY
Oh, recall, you know I don't like

VOICE (O.S.)
Why not? Too scary?
SIDNEY
No. No, it's just the point.
They're all the same: some stupid

going to the front door, it's
insulting.
VOICE (O.S.)
Are you alone in the house?
SIDNEY
Randy, it's so unoriginal. I'm
disappointed in you.
VOICE (O.S.)
Maybe that's because, I'm not Randy.
SIDNEY
So, who are you?
VOICE (O.S.)
The question isn't "Who am I?" The

Uh-huh.
SIDNEY
Oh, okay.
She puts a finger in the nose.

Leave Sid alone.
Kenny arrives. The camera ready.
KENNY
Where she gone?
GALE
Look, Kenny...
KENNY

BILLY
Everybody's got one, sheriff. I

MR. LOOMIS
Why don't you check the phone bill

Comp, they got the records of every

SHERIFF BURKE
Thanks, Hank. We're on top of it.
(to Billy)
What were you doing over Sidney's
house, tonight?
BILLY
I wanted to see her, that's all.
SHERIFF BURKE
And last night? Sidney said you
crawled through her window last

SHERIFF BURKE
What about that cellular phone bill?
DEWEY
Well, we're pulling Loomis's account.
We won't know anything until the

TATUM

Oh, come on.
DEWEY

Twenty years ago, I would have say

Hey, Dewey, can we go, now?
DEWEY
Hold on a second.
TATUM
Goddamned it, Dewey.

of law.
TATUM
(louder)
I'm sorry, Deputy Dewey boy, but
we're ready to go. Now, okay?!
Some agents laugh. Tatum takes Sidney and goes to Dewey.
SHERIFF BURKE
Take 'em out of the back way, avoid
that circus.
Dewey -- angrily -- grabs Tatum.
DEWEY
C'mon. C'mon!
TATUM
Don't touch me.
DEWEY
(re: Burke)
He's my superior.
TATUM
Janitor's your superior.
Sidney, Tatum and Dewey exit. The door SHUTS.
SHERIFF BURKE
Let's get back to work!

70 EXT. SIDEWALK - NIGHT (SAME MOMENT) 70

Gale and Kenny are standing on the sidewalk, near the police
station.
GALE
Isn't there a back way out of this
place?
KENNY
Yeah. Down that alley, I think.
The CAMERA pulls right, letting Gale and Kenny away. We moves
through the alley to arrive to --

71 EXT. ALLEY/POLICE STATION, BACK WAY - NIGHT (CONTINUOUS) 71

Dewey opens the door. Sidney and Tatum exit.
DEWEY
You guys just stay here, I get the
car. Don't move. Don't make a
sound.
As the door closes, Gale and Kenny appears in the background.
GALE
There she is. Sidney! Hi, some
night. What happened? Are you all
right?
TATUM
(annoyed)
She's not answering any questions,
alright? Just leave us alone --
SIDNEY
No. No, Tatum, it's okay. She's
just doing her job, right Gale?
Other reporters arrive.
GALE
Yes, that's right.
SIDNEY
So, how's the book?
GALE
Well, it'll be out late of this year.
SIDNEY
Oh, I'll look for it.
Sidney turns, when...
GALE
I'll send you a copy.
She turns back and PUNCHES Gale, who falls in Kenny's arm.
Gale looks at Sidney. Sidney is fierce of her act.
KENNY (O.S.)
Nice shot.
GALE (O.S.) KENNY (O.S.)
Bitch. No, I mean the camera. Nice
shot.
50. .

Dewey arrives and brings Sidney and Tatum to the car.

DEWEY
Where you learn to punch like that?
FLASH. CUT TO:

72 INT. RILEY'S HOUSE - TATUM'S BEDROOM - NIGHT (LATER) 72

Two bed. In one there is Sidney. In the other Tatum.
TATUM
God, I loved that. "I'll send you a
copy". Bam! Bitch went down. "I'll
send you a copy". Bam! Sid, super
bitch. You were so cool.
Dewey comes in with an ice bag.
DEWEY
Thought you might want some ice for
that right look.
Dewey throws it to Sidney, who grabs it.
SIDNEY
Yes.
DEWEY
I'll be right next door. Try to make
some sleep.
TATUM
Yeah, yeah.
He goes away, shuts the door.
TATUM
Do you really think Billy did it?
SIDNEY
He was there, Tatum.
TATUM
He was destined to have a flaw. I
knew he was too perfect.
Somebody knocks. The door opens to reveal MRS. RILEY (50's).
MRS. RILEY
Telephone, honey.
51. .

TATUM
Who's there?
MRS. RILEY
For Sid.
SIDNEY
(hoping)
My dad?
MRS. RILEY
I don't think so.
TATUM
Take a message.
SIDNEY
No. I -- I'll get it.
Sidney gets up and exits.
MRS. RILEY
How she doing?
Tatum shrugs.

Looks like you fingered the Dewey! Dewey!
wrong guy. Again.
SIDNEY TATUM
Who are you? Hang up, Sid.
VOICE (O.S.)
Don't worry. You'll find out soon
enough, I promise.
The LINE GOES OFF. He hanged up. Dewey comes running
DEWEY
What?
TATUM
What!
Sidney and Tatum goes in the bedroom. Dewey hangs on:
DEWEY
Hello?

54. .

Sidney and Tatum go away, walking down the sidewalk.

DEWEY (O.S.)
She just want to get an education.
Sidney stops Tatum.
TATUM
What?
SIDNEY
Wait a sec.
Sidney turns and walks to the "Top Story" van. Gale is putting
make up on her face. Hiding the bruise.
GALE
Stop right there.
SIDNEY
I'm not here to fight, I just need to
talk.
GALE
Kenny, the camera, now.
KENNY SIDNEY
Yep. Off records, no camera.
GALE
Forget it.
SIDNEY
Please, you owe me.
GALE
I owe you shit.
SIDNEY
You owe my mother.
Kenny takes the camera. Gale stops him.
GALE
Your mother's murder was last year's
hottest court case. Somebody was
gonna write a book 'bout it.
SIDNEY
Right, and had to be you with your
lies and bullshit's theories.
55. .

GALE
What is your problem? You got what
you wanted: Cotton Weary is in jail.
They're gonna gas him. A book's not
gonna change that.
SIDNEY
Do you still think he's innocent?
GALE
Your testimony put him away. It
doesn't matter what I really think.
SIDNEY
During the trial you did all those
stories about me. You called me a
"liar".
GALE
I think you falsely the identify him.
Yes.
SIDNEY
Have you talk to Cotton?
GALE
Many times.
SIDNEY
And has his story changed?
GALE
Not one word. He admits having sex
with your mother, but that's all.
SIDNEY
He's... lying. She never would have
touch him. He ripped her and then...
He butchered her. Her blood was all
over his coat.
GALE
He was drunk that night. He left his
coat at your house, after your mother
seduced him.
SIDNEY
I saw him leaving wearing it.
GALE
No, you saw someone leave wearing
that coat.
Gale so sure. She knows what she is talking about.
56. .

GALE (CONT'D)
The same some who planted in Cotton's
car, framing him.
SIDNEY
No. Cotton murdered my mother.
GALE
You're not so sure anymore, are you?
Tatum reappears behind Sidney.
TATUM
Nice welt, sweetie. Let's go, Sid.
GALE
The killer's still on the loose,
isn't it?
TATUM
Come on, Sid.
GALE
Those murders are related.
SIDNEY
I'm sorry I mangled your face.
GALE
Wait. Sidney, don't go.
Gale calls Kenny. Tatum and Sidney go away.
TATUM
Just stop.
Kenny is ready with the camera.
GALE
(laughs)
Jesus Christ. An innocent man on
death row, a killer still on the
loose. Kenny, tell me I'm dreaming.
KENNY
Wanna go live?
GALE
No-no-no. It's too fast, we don't
have anything concrete.
57. .

KENNY
This is huge. You can't just sit on
it?
GALE
I know. That's why we need proof.
If I'm right, I can save a man's
life. Do you know what that can do
for my book's sales?
Gale slaps Kenny.

80 INT. SCHOOL - HALLWAY - MORNING 80

Sidney and Tatum are looking their lockers. Stu is there too.
SIDNEY
This is a mistake. I shouldn't be
here.
TATUM
I want you to meet me here, right
after class, okay Sid?
SIDNEY
(to Stu)
Hey, I haven't seen Billy around,
yet? Is he really pissed?
STU
Oh, do you mean after you like
branded him like Candyman?
Tatum punches Stu.
STU (CONT'D)
No, his heart's broken. Ow.
TATUM
Stu!
SCREAM. GHOSTFACE, running down the hallway, scaring everyone.
Sidney gasps. Stu is hardly laughing. The BELL RINGS.
SIDNEY
Why are they doing this?
STU
Are you kidding? Look at this place,
is like Christmas.
TATUM
Stupidity leak.
58. .

Tatum hits Stu with her lollipop. Sidney walks away.

STU
Ow. Easy.
TATUM
Sidney?
Sidney running down the hallway, when she hits...
SIDNEY
Jesus. Shit.
BILLY
It's just me.
Sidney steps back.
BILLY (CONT'D)
Woah, woah, woah, woah. You still
think it's me?
SIDNEY
No. No, I -- I don't. No, it's
just... somebody was there, Billy.
Someone tried to kill me.
BILLY
I know. I know. The cops said I
scared him away. But, it wasn't me,
Sid.
SIDNEY
I know. He called me, again, last
night, at Tatum's house.
BILLY
You see? Couldn't be me. I was in
jail. Remember?
SIDNEY
(whispering)
I'm so... sorry. Please, understand.
BILLY
Understand what? That I've a
girlfriend who would rather accuse me
of being a psychopathic killer than
touch me?
SIDNEY
You know that's not true.
59. .

BILLY
Then, what is it?
SIDNEY
What... is it? Billy, I was attacked
and nearly filleted last night.
BILLY
I mean, between us. You haven't been
the same since...
Silence. Awkward silence.
BILLY (CONT'D)
Since your mother died.
SIDNEY
Is your brain leaking? My mom was
killed. I can't believe you're
bringing this up.
BILLY
It's been a year --
SIDNEY
(correcting him)
Tomorrow. One year, tomorrow.
BILLY
I know. I think it's time you got
over that. I mean... when my mom
left my dad, I accepted it. It's the
way it is. She's not coming back.
SIDNEY
Your parents split up. This is not
the same thing. Your mom left town.
She's not lying in a coffin
somewhere.
BILLY
Okay-okay-okay. I'm sorry, it's a
bad analogy. But it's just that... I
want my girlfriend back.
Sidney looks disgusted at Billy. Then she walks away.
BILLY
Sid.
SIDNEY
I'm sorry if my traumatized life is
inconvenient you and your perfect
existence.
60. .

BILLY
What? Wait. Nobody said that. Sid!
She runs away.
BILLY
(to himself)
Stupid.

81 INT. SCHOOL - PRINCIPAL OFFICE - MORNING (SAME MOMENT) 81

The Principal Himbry SHUTS the door.
PRINCIPAL HIMBRY
You make me so sick.
Two STUDENTS wearing GHOSTFACE MASKS. Himbry removes a mask to
one.
PRINCIPAL HIMBRY (CONT'D)
Your entire whole havoc-inducing,
thieving, whoring generation disgusts
me. So...
Himbry takes the scissors.
PRINCIPAL HIMBRY (CONT'D)
Two of your fellow students just
savagely murdered, and --
Himbry grabs the grabs the other mask and starts cutting it.
PRINCIPAL HIMBRY (CONT'D)
-- this is the way you show your
compassion and insensitivity, huh?
I'm saying you something: you're both
expelled. Get out.
STUDENT #2
Oh, come on, Mr. Himbry, it was just
a joke.
STUDENT #1
Is not fair.
PRINCIPAL HIMBRY
You're absolutely right. It is not
fair.
Himbry plays with the scissors, attacking them.
61. .

PRINCIPAL HIMBRY (CONT'D)

Fairness would be to rip your insides
out, hang you from a tree so we can
expose you for the heartless,
desensitized little shits you are.
A door opens.

82 INT. SCHOOL - GIRLS BATHROOM - VARIOUS - MORNING (SAME) 82

Is Sidney. She goes to the sinks, when...
GIRL (O.S.)
(re: Sidney)
She was never attacked. I think she
made it all up.
GIRL #2 (O.S.)
How could she lie about it?
GIRL (O.S.)
For attention. The girl has some
serious issues.
The FLUSHING DEVICE. Sidney enters in a WC. She closes the
door, hiding.
The GIRL exits. It's a BLONDE cheerleader.
BLONDE GIRL
And what if she did it? What if
Sidney killed Casey and Steve?
GIRL #2 (O.S.)
And why would she do that?
BLONDE GIRL
Maybe she was hot for Steve, and
killed them both in a jealous rage.
GIRL #2 (O.S.)
Why would Sidney want to be with
Steve?
The FLUSHING DEVICE, again. The GIRL exits. A brunette girl.
BRUNETTE GIRL (CONT'D)
She has her own bubble-butt-boyfriend
Billy.
BLONDE GIRL
Maybe, she's a slut. Just like her
mother.
62. .

BRUNETTE GIRL
You're evil.
BLONDE GIRL
Please, it's a common fact. Her
mother was a tramp.
BRUNETTE GIRL
Cut some slack. She watched her mom
getting butchered.
Sidney is listening. Weakens.
BLONDE GIRL
And fucked up her royally. Think
about it. Her mother's death leaves
her distraught and hostile, in a
cruel and inhuman world. She is
delusional. "Where is God?",
etcetera. Completely suicidal, one
day she snaps. She wants to go
herself, but she realizes team
suicide is out this year and homicide
is a much healthier therapeutic
expression.
BRUNETTE GIRL
Where did you get this shit?
BLONDE GIRL
Ricki Lake.
BRUNETTE GIRL
You are pathetic.
Blonde and brunette leave. The door SHUTS. Sidney finally
exits from the WC. She goes to the sink. Wipes her nose.
SIDNEY
Pathetic.
Sidney looks into her rucksack, when...
VOICE (O.S.)
(whispering)
Sidney...
Sidney turns to the stalls, recognizing the VOICE. Looks down.
SIDNEY'S POV: Nothing. Noises all around makes the atmosphere.
VOICE (O.S.)
(whispering)
Sidney.
63. .

SIDNEY
Someone's there?
SIDNEY'S POV: Looking down again. No feet, nor sign of people
around.
Sidney gets up, when... two feet goes down from a stall. There
are his shoes. Slowly, the black bands of the costume go down.
The door UNLOCKS.
Sidney stars running, but GHOSTFACE EXITS from the STALL. He
SCREAMS. Sidney slips down. He doesn't catch her. She gets
up and steps back. Ghostface follows her.

83 INT. SCHOOL - HALLWAY - MORNING (CONTINUOUS) 83

Sidney exits from the bathroom. She runs down the hallway,
then goes downstairs.
REPORTER (V.O.)
It would appears to be a prank.
Several students were seen wearing
scary masks. School officials have
yet to comment.

84 EXT. SCHOOL - MORNING 84

The REPORTER is holding a GHOSTFACE MASK.
REPORTER (CONT'D)
(re: the mask)
But, this is known to be the same
costume worn by the killer.
Seventeen years-old, Casey Becker and
her boyfriend, Steven Orth have
already lost their lives. Who's
next?

85 EXT. SIDEWALK - DAY 85

Dewey shuts the car's door. He walks down to the school. Gale
approaches to Dewey. A grin on her shining face.
GALE
Hi, Gale Weathers, field
correspondent, Top Story.
DEWEY
I know who you are, Miss. Weathers.
How's the eye?
64. .

GALE
Productive. Is there a problem in
campus?
DEWEY
No. Everything's under control.
GALE
Well, of course. You are here.
DEWEY
You're not supposed to be here.
GALE
I know.
(laughs)
I should have been in New York,
having the Sharon Stone's stalkers,
but... who knew?
(laughs)
You look awfully under to be a police
officer.
DEWEY
I'm 25 years-old.
GALE
You know, in a demographic study, I
prove to be most popular amongst men
11-24. I guess I just missed you.
Of course, you don't look a day over
twelve. Accept in that upper, torso
area. Does the Force require you to
work out?
DEWEY
No, ma'am. 'Cause my boyish good
looks, muscle mass has increased my
acceptance as a seriously officer.
The microphone CLEARS. Amplifier on. PA starts, revealing:
PRINCIPAL HIMBRY (O.S.)
I need your attention, now, kids.
Due to the recent events that have
occurred, effected immediately, all
classes are suspended till further
notices.
Students in the campus CHEERS.

86 EXT. SCHOOL - DAY (CONTINUOUS) 86

Dewey and Gale moves to the school entrance.

GALE
Looks like we got a serial killer on
our hands.
DEWEY
Serial killer's not really accurate.
Gotta knock off couple or more to get
that title.
GALE
Well, we can help, can we?
(laughs)
I mean, we certainly don't have any
leads. Have you located Sidney's
father yet?
DEWEY
No. Not yet.
GALE
Well, he's not a suspect, is he?
DEWEY
We haven't ruled him out as a
possibility. If you'll excuse me.
Dewey turns to go inside.
GALE
I'm sorry, am I keeping you?
DEWEY
If I may say so, Miss. Weathers...
you're much prettier in person.
He runs up the stairs.
GALE
So, you do watch the show.
DEWEY
I'm 25. I was 24 for an whole year.
66. .

GALE
Please, call me "Gale".

87 EXT. SCHOOL - AFTERNOON 87

Sidney and Tatum exits from school.
TATUM
It was just some sick fuck having a
laugh, Sidney.
SIDNEY
No, it was him, Tatum. I know it.
TATUM
Well, you're not be alone anymore,
right? If you pee, I pee. Is that
clear?
Stu arrives. Gives two flowers to Sidney and Tatum.
STU
Kizool, 'cause schizool is izzout. I
don't what you did, Sidney, but on
behalf of the entire student body, we
all say "Thank you!"

88 EXT. STREET/SIDEWALK - AFTERNOON (CONTINUOUS) 88

They cross the street. To the other sidewalk.
TATUM
Stop it, Stu.
STU
No. I say impromptu party tonight --
my house -- to celebrate this little
siesta. What do you say?
Stu grabs Tatum and puts her on his shoulders.
SIDNEY
Are you serious?
STU
Parents are out of town, and this
little vixen doesn't invite the
entire world, you'll be fine.
Intimate gathering, intimate friends.
He puts Tatum down.
67. .

TATUM
What do you say, Sid? I mean, pathos
could have its perks.
STU
Totally protected. Yo, I am so buff.
I got you covered, girl.
SIDNEY
No...
TATUM
Come on, Sid. For me, it could be
fun.
SIDNEY
Okay, whatever.
STU
Yeah? Nice. Cool, you guys bring
food, all right?
Tatum and Sidney go away. Stu mimics guitar, happy.

89 INT. SCHOOL - PRINCIPAL OFFICE - AFTERNOON (SAME MOMENT) 89

The Principal puts the Ghostface mask on. He growls, looking
at the mirror. Then, laughs. Thinking funny, when... somebody
KNOCKS. Himbry instantly removes the Mask. Goes to the door--

90 INT. SCHOOL - HALLWAY - AFTERNOON (CONTINUOUS) 90

Himbry looks out.
PRINCIPAL HIMBRY
Yes? ... Hello?
Nothing. Quiet. Nobody seems around. He steps back.

91 INT. SCHOOL - PRINCIPAL OFFICE - AFTERNOON (CONTINUOUS) 91

He shuts the door. Turns to the mirror. GHOSTFACE. He catch
him, but it's just the Mask. Seconds, then... KNOCK. Again.
PRINCIPAL HIMBRY
Damn it.
Himbry turns, opens the door--
68. .

92 INT. SCHOOL - VARIOUS - AFTERNOON (CONTINUOUS) 92

Nothing! Again. Himbry throws the Mask away.
He goes to the secretariat. Looking around. Moving through
the desks. Nothing, nobody. Then, he goes to the hallway.
PRINCIPAL HIMBRY
Damn little shits.
FRED
What'd you called me? Huh?
FRED, the janitor is washing the floor. Red and green sweater.
PRINCIPAL HIMBRY
No, not you Fred.
Himbry steps back. The door shuts, when:
FRED
Prick.
Himbry walks back to the office.

93 INT. SCHOOL - PRINCIPAL OFFICE - AFTERNOON (CONTINUOUS) 93

The door is OPEN. Quietly, Himbry turns to the closet. Maybe
someone is there. He slowly goes nearer to it. Then...
FASTER AS EVER, OPENS IT TO SEE... nothing. Nothing but the
clothes hanged. He sights. Goes to the door. He is closing
it, when... GHOSTFACE comes out from behind the door.
Himbry turns, sees him. SCREAMS. Ghostface STABS him in the
chest. Again. Again. And again. Himbry falls.
CU ON HIMBRY'S EYE: Ghostface appears. Himbry looks at him,
before he goes off. The PERFECT SHOT.
Alice Cooper's "School's Out" playing. We see a nice house.
From the window, the CAMERA pulls down to reveal --

94 EXT. RILEY'S HOUSE - FRONT PORCH - AFTERNOON 94

Sidney and Tatum are staying in the front porch. Waiting.
TATUM
What if Cotton Weary is telling the
truth? Maybe, he was having an
affair with your mom.
69. .

TATUM (CONT'D)
I mean, with your dad's always out of
town for business. Maybe... Maybe
your mom was just a very unhappy
woman.
SIDNEY
If -- If they were having an affair,
then how come Cotton couldn't prove
it in court?
TATUM
Well... You can't prove a rumor.
That's why it's rumor.
SIDNEY
Right. Created by that little
tabloid twit Gale Weathers.
TATUM
It goes further back, Sid. There's
been talk about other men.
SIDNEY
And you believe it?
TATUM
Well... I mean, you can only hear
that Richard Gere gerbil story so
many times before, you have to start
believing it.
Sidney knew it. But, at the same, she can't understand. Tatum
doesn't know what to do.
TATUM (CONT'D)
Oh, I'm sorry.
SIDNEY
You know, if I was wrong about
Cotton, then, the killer's still out
there?
TATUM
Don't go there, Sid. You're start
sounding like some Wes Carpenter
flick or something. Don't freak
yourself out, okay? We've got a long
night ahead of us. Okay?
Sidney nods.
TATUM
Let's boogie.
70. .

They go away. We ZOOM on the trees. Nothing strange, when...

GHOSTFACE appears. Fuck. He is chasing Sidney.

95 INT. VIDEO STORE - AFTERNOON 95

Whale's Frankenstein is on, on a TV.
VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN
It's alive! In the Name of God!
The CAMERA pulls back to reveal the video store full of people.
Randy appears. He is "driving" the VHS cart. He hits someone.
MAN
Watch out, jerk.
RANDY
Sorry.
Randy grabs some videos, when Stu hits him. The VHS fall.
STU
(laughing)
Oh!
RANDY
Dork.
STU
Jesus, this place's packed tonight,
man.
RANDY
We had a run in the mass murders
section.
STU
Cool. Comin' to my fiesta?
RANDY
Yeah, I'm off early. Curfew, you
know?
A GIRL approaches Randy.
GIRL
What's that werewolf movie with the
E.T.'s mom in it?
RANDY
The Howling. Horror. Straight
ahead.
71. .

GIRL
(walking away)
Okay, thanks.
RANDY
Oh, no. That's in poor taste.
STU
What?
Randy is referring to Billy. Standing by an isle, talking to
two girls.
RANDY
If you were the only suspect in a
senseless bloodbath, would you be
standing in the horror section?
STU
Well, it was just a misunderstanding.
He ain't do anything.
RANDY
You such a little lap dog. He's got
"killer" print all over his forehead.
STU
(mocking)
Okay, really?
(normal)
And why the cops let him go, smart
guy?
RANDY
'Cause, obviously, they don't watch
enough movies. It's a standard
horror movie stuff. Prom Night
revisited, man.
STU
Yeah? Why would he wanna kill his
own girlfriend?
RANDY
There's always some stupid bullshit
reason to kill your girlfriend.
That's the beauty of it all.
Simplicity. Besides, it gets too
complicated, you lose your target
audience.
STU
Well, what's his reason?
72. .

RANDY
Maybe, Sidney wouldn't have sex with
him.
STU
(laughs)
She saving herself for you?
RANDY
Maybe. Now, that Billy tried to
mutilate her, do you think Sidney
would go out for me?
Stu hardly laughs. He stops.
STU
(serious)
No. I don't. At all. No. Do you
know who I think it is? Yo, I think
it's her father. And why they can't
find her pops, man?
RANDY
Because, he's probably dead.
Stu looks disgusted.
RANDY (CONT'D)
His body will come pop up in the last
real somewhere. Eyes gouged out.
Fingers cut off. Teeth knocked off.
See, the police are always off track
with this shit. If they watch Prom
Night, they'd save time. There's a
formula to it. A very simple
formula! Everybody's a suspect!
Silence. Quietly, everybody turns to Randy, who now regrets
it. Stu jokes about him.
RANDY
Telling you, the dad's a red herring.
It's Billy.
Randy turns to see: BILLY. Standing right here. He scares
Randy. Stu appears behind Randy.
BILLY
How do we know you're not the killer?
Huh? Huh?!
RANDY
Hi, Billy.
73. .

BILLY
Maybe, your movie freak mind lost
reality, but you ever think of that?
RANDY
You're absolutely right. I'm the
first to admit it. If this were
scary movie, I'd be the prime
suspect.
BILLY
That's right.
STU
And what would be your motive?
RANDY
The Millennium. Motives are
incidental.
BILLY
Millennium? Mh, Millennium. I like
that. That's good. Millennium...
Good kid.
STU
Millennium. Good word, my man.
Billy walks away.
RANDY
(pointing Billy)
You're telling me that's not a
killer?

74. .

SIDNEY
God, look at this place, it's The
Town That Dreaded Sundown, huh?
DEWEY
Yeah, I saw that movie. It's about a
killer in Texas, huh?
SIDNEY
Hmm...
TATUM
Hey, Sid, just think. If they make a
movie about you, who's gonna play you?
SIDNEY
I shudder to think.
DEWEY
I see as a young Meg Ryan, myself.
SIDNEY
Thanks, Dewey. With my luck, they
would cast Tori Spelling.

DEWEY
It's just gonna be a few minutes.
You girls don't go too far.
Dewey walks away, too.

98 EXT. GROCERY STORE - AFTERNOON 98

SIDNEY
(pushing the cart)
Billy's right. You know, whenever he

TATUM
You have a few intimacy issues as
results from your mother's untimely
death. It's not big deal, Sid.
You'll thaw out.
SIDNEY
Yes, but he's been so patient with
me. You know, all though the sex
stuff, how many guys would put up
with a girlfriend who's sexually
anorexic?
TATUM
Billy and his penis don't deserve
you. Right?
We stop, as the walk away. The CAMERA turn to the FRIDGES to

Prescott, Sidney's father. He made
the calls with a cellular phone, it's

DEWEY
There's no way a cellular could have
been cloned?
SHERIFF BURKE
There's more. Guess what tomorrow is.

Burke throws the cigarette down. He extinguishing that, when
we notice something... his SHOES! Same we used by Ghostface.
Then, he Sheriff turns and walks into the station. Is maybe
he?
SHERIFF BURKE
You stay close to Sidney. Don't let
her out of your sight.
DEWEY
Yes, sir.
As Burke did with the cigarette, Dewey throws his ice cream.
As he walks away, we--

Gale turns to see: Dewey is there. She gasps.
DEWEY
I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare ya.
GALE
Deputy, that's okay.
DEWEY
What brings you to these parts?
78. .

GALE
Well, you just never know when or
where a story will break.
DEWEY
Not much of a story, here. Just a
bunch of kids cuttin' it loose.
GALE
And what are you doing here?
DEWEY
Just keeping an eye on things. I'm

GALE
Do you mind if I join you?

STU
I'll get it. Hey, Tate grab me
another beer, would ya? There's more
beer in the garage.
TATUM
What am I? The beer wench?
RANDY
(re: Jamie Lee Curtis)
...she was nominated -- She was
nominated for Terror Train.
Stu comes running.
STU
You're not gonna believe who's here.
It's that chick from "Top Story".
RANDY
Gale Weathers?
TATUM
Shit.
Tatum gets up, turns to see: Dewey and Gale. He stops a boy.
DEWEY
(grabbing the beer)
You're under age, Son. I'm kiddin'.
Have a good time. Watch the drivin'.
TATUM
Dewey. Dewey?
He goes to her.
80. .

TATUM
What is she doing here?
DEWEY
She is with me. I'm just checking

As she speaks- the lights turn off.
TATUM
(knocking)
Hey, shitheads!
(silence)
Hello? Shit. Piss.
She turns the light on again. The garage door opens again.
Tatum is going to it when- it stops. Then, goes down. Tatum
turns to see--
GHOSTFACE is closing the garage door.
TATUM
Is that you, Randy?
Ghostface shakes the head- side to side. She sighs.
TATUM
Cute. What movie is this from? I
Spit on your Garage? Loose the
outfit. If Sidney sees it, she'll
flip.
Ghostface shakes the head again.
TATUM
Oh, you wanna play Psycho Killer?
He finally nods.
TATUM
Can I be the helpless victim?
He nods again.
82. .

TATUM
Okay, let's see. No, please, don't
kill me Mr. Ghostface. I wanna be in
the sequel.
Tatum is going to open the door- but he stops her, again.
TATUM
Cut, Casper. That's wrap.

Billy, hmm. What are you doin' here?
BILLY
I was hoping I could talk to Sid,
alone.
SIDNEY
You know, if Tatum sees you here,
she'll draw blood.
STU
I'll tell you what. Why you guys
don't you go to my parents' room?
You guys can talk and whatever.

The van door slides to reveal Gale. The real one.
KENNY GALE
Oh, shit. What?
KENNY GALE
I got a delay. How long is it?
KENNY
I don't know. How'd it take you to
walk from the house. Thirty seconds?
GALE KENNY
It'll be fine. Just record All right.

You damn right.

Billy sits next to Sidney on the bed.
SIDNEY
So, huh...
BILLY
So...
An awkward silence falls between the two.
BILLY
Look, I'm sorry. I've been selfish
and I wanna apologize --
SIDNEY
No. Billy, I -- I'm the one who's
been selfish and self-absorbed with
all this post-traumatic stress.
BILLY
You lost your mom.
SIDNEY
(sobbing)
Yeah, I know, but you're right.
Enough is enough. I -- I can't
wallow i -- in the grief process
forever and... And I can't keep
lying myself about who my mom was.
(sniffles)
Yeah, I think I'm really... scared
that I'm gonna turn just like her.
You know? Like The Bad Seed or
somethin'.
Billy shakes his head.
SIDNEY (CONT'D)
An -- And I know it doesn't make
sense.
86. .

BILLY
Yeah. It does. It's like Jodie
Foster in The Silence of the Lambs
when she keeps having flashbacks of
her dead father.
SIDNEY
But, this is life. This isn't a
movie.
BILLY
Sure it is, Sid. It's all -- it's
all a movie. It's all... one great
big movie.
(caress her cheek)
You can't pick your genre.
She caress him. She goes nearer and they kiss. Then, he
brushes her hair, she hugs him- the head over his shoulder.
SIDNEY
Why can't I be in a Meg Ryan movie?
Or even in a good porno?
He stops.
BILLY
What?
SIDNEY
You heard me.
They go back. Looking each other.

Are you sure?

over?
STU
When do we see breasts? I wanna see
Jamie Lee's breasts. When do we see
Jamie Lee's breast?
RANDY
Breasts? Not until Trading Places,
in '83. Jamie Lee was always the
virgin in horror movie. She never
showed her, till she went legits.
GIRL
Could afford a decent pair.
RANDY
What did you s -- ? That's why she
always outsmarted the killer in the
big chase, at the end. Only virgins
can do that. Don't you know the
rules?
STU
What rules?
RANDY
You don't -- ?
(stops the movie)
Jesus Christ, you don't know the
rules?
STU
Have an aneurysm, why don't ya?
Randy goes near the TV, in front off all the guys.
88. .

RANDY
There are certain rules that one must
be abide in order to successfully
survive a horror movie. For instinct,
you can never have sex.
Guys booing- throwing popcorn to Randy.
RANDY
Big no-no! Big no-no!
STU
I'd be a dead man.
RANDY
Sex equal death, okay? Number two:
you can never drink or do drugs.
Everybody drinks and CHEERS.
RANDY
No. The sin factor. It's sin. It's
an extension of number one. And
number three: never-ever under any
circumstances say "I'll be right
back". 'Cause you won't be back.
STU
I'm gettin' an another beer, you want
one?
RANDY
Sure.
STU
I'll be right back!
Randy is speechless. Guys CHEER- laughing.
RANDY

the kitchen with a knife.

GALE
Well, I like it. It's sexy.
DEWEY
Sexy?
GALE
(chuckling)
Mm-hmm.
DEWEY
Uh, it's just this town way. I'm not
takin' me serious.
GALE
What about Gale Weathers? Sounds
like I'm a meteorologist or
something. People treat me like I'm
an Anti-Christ of television
journalism.
DEWEY
I don't think you that bad.
GALE DEWEY
No? No.
GALE
I think that's 'cause you just kinda

Ghostface goes right behind Randy. He pulls the knife up-
ready to kill.
RANDY (CONT'D)
Behind you. Jamie turn around. Ohh!
God! Yeah!
As Laurie SCREAMS on TV- somebody else SCREAM, but in reality.
It catches Ghostface attention, that doesn't care about Randy.

KENNY
There's a camera in the house. Look.

SIDNEY KENNY
Oh my God, no. Randy! Shit. Behind you, kid!
Behind ya!
Kenny opens the door- to notice the front door is OPEN. He
recalls it:
KENNY
Shit.
SIDNEY
What?
KENNY
We're on 30 seconds delay.
Kenny turns but- Ghostface appears and CUTS KENNY'S THROAT.
Sidney SCREAMS. Kenny turns to Sidney -- dying -- points to
something and then, falls.
Sidney shuts the door, but- Ghostface's faster and stabs her
on the shoulder. Anyway, the door shuts.
Sidney looks at where Kenny pointed to see- a little "DOOR".
Then, she turns- Ghostface is trying to open the sliding door
by the open window.
98. .

Sidney crouches- removes all the things in the space in the

corner of the van and crawls through it- going out. Ghostface
opens the door and goes inside.
Sidney is faster and exits. As she is out, she starts
running- while Ghostface look at her from the van.

128 EXT. ROAD - NIGHT (CONTINUOUS) 128

Sidney runs away from Ghostface- override the fence and goes in
the field.

129 EXT. MACHER'S HOUSE - NIGHT (LATER) 129

Dewey and Gale arrives to the driveway. Pointing the gun-
making light with flashlight- Dewey searching the killer.
DEWEY
(panting)
Is there a phone on the van?
GALE
Yeah.
DEWEY
Lock yourself in in. Call the
Sheriff for backup.
Dewey runs to the front door.
GALE
Be careful.
Dewey arrives to the front porch and enters.

130 INT. MACHER'S HOUSE - VARIOUS - NIGHT 130

SCREAMING. He starts pointing the gun several- to hallway, to
stairs, to living room. The WOMAN SCREAMING continues.

the hallway. The gun still pointed in front of him.
DEWEY
Mr. Prescott?
He opens a closet. Nothing. Dewey finally goes into the
living room and the SCREAM reveals to be- Halloween: is just
99. .

Laurie screaming. Dewey sighs, then he moves to the hallway.

131 INT/EXT. "TOP STORY" VAN - NIGHT (SAME MOMENT) 131

Gale comes running to the van- the flashlight in the hand.
GALE
Kenny! I need the cellular!
She arrives- illuminates inside- but, no one's there. The van
it's empty.
GALE
Kenny?! KENNY!
Her voice echoes. Then, Gale notices she is walking on
something liquid. Looks down and illuminates...
BLOOD. It is Kenny blood. She steps back. Gale worries-
don't knowing what to do. What's happening? Then, she goes
inside- shutting the door. She goes to the guidance.
Gale grabs the cell. Starts dialing. The line BEEPS and --
WOMAN (O.S.)
911. What's --
Randy suddenly appears.
RANDY
What's goin' on?
Gale SCREAMS. Scared -- she starts hitting him with the phone.
Again. And again.
RANDY
Ow-ow-ow!
He falls. Gale turns the engine on. The headlights turn on.
Gale looks up but --
All over the WINDSHIELD is there's something DARK. It prevents
the view. Gale tries to remove the blood from the inside- but
it is out.
She turns the windshield wipers on- those move, washing and
moving that... RED BLOOD.
GALE
Oh God.
Gale reverses. The van goes back. Then, she stops- but --
100. .

KENNY'S BODY slips down the windshield from the roof of the
van. Gale SCREAMS. She panics. What the fuck? She goes
forward- accelerating.
GALE
Oh God, Kenny. I'm sorry but, get
off my fucking windshield.
As Gale curves- Kenny falls over the fences.
She looks at it- then goes down the road. Until: Sidney
appears in the middle of the street. She's blood everywhere.
SIDNEY
Stop!
Gale SCREAMS. She goes off the road- can't stopping. The van
goes on down the ground. Gale doesn't have control of. Then,
the van hits to a tree. CRASHED.

132 EXT. MACHER'S HOUSE - NIGHT (MOMENTS LATER) 132

Sidney arrives running at Marcher's. She approaches by the
driveway. She has blood from head to feet.
SIDNEY
(echoing)
Dewey! Dewey, where are you? Dewey?
As she arrives to the path- the front door opens. It is Dewey.
He slowly moves- seems he can't.
DEWEY
(weak)
Sidney?
Sidney sighs of relief. Happy to see him- until --
He falls in front of her, revealing- a KNIFE stuck in the back.
The killer already attacked him!
SIDNEY
Dewey!
From around GHOSTFACE appears on the door. Standing there.
Sidney steps back. Fuck! Ghostface goes to Dewey, takes his
knife and wipes it.
Sidney runs to Dewey's Jeep- parked in front of the house.
Ghostface follows her- the knife in the hand. She goes to the
guidance and shuts her inside.
101. .

133 INT. DEWEY'S JEEP - NIGHT (CONTINUOUS) 133

Sidney locks the passenger seat near her. Ghostface tries to
open it, but- he can't. Then he goes to her seat. She ups the
window- and locks that, too. Ghostface has no way to enter.
Sidney is going to drive, but there's NO KEYS.
Ghostface hits the window, Sidney looks to see- he's swinging
the keys. Fuck. Then, Ghostface goes down- disappearing.
The LOCK BUTTON of the passengers goes up. Is OPEN. She
instantly closes it. Then, panics noticing the guidance is up.
As she go for it- we see behind her the TRUNK DOOR OPENS. She
doesn't notice as she is giving the back to it. Silence...
DISPATCHER (O.S.)
7825, suspect at 105 North Avenue 52.
As Sidney hear the voice- instantly, she grabs the radio and:
SIDNEY
Hello. Help me, please. I'm at Stu
Macher's house, Turner Lane. It's
261 Turner Lane. Please, he is gonna
try and kill me.
Suddenly, GHOSTFACE JUMPS FROM THE TRUNK- grunting. He grabs
Sidney from the throat- chocking her. She turns and kicks him.
Then, opens the door and falls out on the pavement.

134 EXT. MACHER'S HOUSE - NIGHT (CONTINUOUS) 134

Sidney gets up from the pavement. Turns to Dewey's Jeep and...
SIDNEY'S POV: Nothing. He's gone. Nothing around moves.
She runs to the front porch- crouches over Dewey, when...
VOICE (O.S.)
Sidneeeeeeey!
She goes for his holster- unbuckles it and takes his GUN.
Sidney turns to see the who's the voice. It's RANDY- limping.
RANDY (CONT'D)
Sidney! Jesus, we got to get the
fuck out of here!
She points the gun to Randy. Behind him, Stu arrives.
SIDNEY
Stop, right there.
102. .

RANDY
Don't shoot. It's me! I found
Tatum, she's dead. I think Stu --
STU
Don't listen to him, Sidney!
SIDNEY
Stay back!
STU RANDY
He killed Billy! He killed Stu did it. No, you did it!
Tatum! You killed my Tatum! No, I didn't, you lie!
Sidney steps back. She points the gun to Randy. Then, Stu.
Then, Randy. So unsure. Both them go nearer Sidney.
STU RANDY
Sidney, baby, please give No, I didn't! I didn't, Sid!
me that gun! Give me that He did it! He did it, Sidney!
gun! Christ, man! I didn't do anything! Please!
SIDNEY
Fuck you both!
With that Sidney steps back in the house. Stu and Randy stay
there- speechless. She goes inside- they run to her, but --

135 INT. MACHER'S HOUSE - FOYER - NIGHT (CONTINUOUS) 135

Sidney locks the door. They starts banging to it- talking one
over the other: "No!" "He's gone crazy!" "Please!" She shouts:
SIDNEY
Leave me, alone!
A THUMP! Is BILLY, over the stairs- he's alive! Sidney turns.
BILLY
Sid?
SIDNEY
Billy?
Billy- weak, starts falling down the stairs. Sidney sobs.
Hitting every step- Billy arrives downstairs. She goes to him.
SIDNEY
Oh. Oh, Billy. Are you okay?
BILLY
Oh, I'm okay.
103. .

SIDNEY
I thought you were dead.
BILLY
No, I'm like a stuck pig, but I'm all
right. Help me.
She helps Billy to get up, he goes to the door- she stops him.
BILLY (CONT'D)
I'm okay. We've gotta get help.
SIDNEY
No. He's out there.
BILLY
No, give me the gun. Give me the
gun, it's okay. It's okay.
She gives the gun. Billy unlocks the door- opens it and...
Randy enters. Billy let him in and then shuts the door.
RANDY
Please, help me. Stu's flipped out.
He's gone mad!
BILLY
(turning creepy)
We all go a little mad sometimes.
RANDY
Oh, fuck!
Sidney tries to stop Billy, but- he SHOOTS at Randy, who falls
backward. Billy creepy laughs. Sidney goes to Randy.
BILLY
Anthony Perkins, Psycho.
(licks "blood")
Corn sirup. Same stuff they use for
pig's blood in Carrie.
What the fuck? Sidney, can't believing- steps back, until she
hits against... STU. Standing on the kitchen door. Petrified.
SIDNEY
Stu. Help me, please.
Stu changes face, grabs a VOICE CHANGER and speak as Ghostface:
STU
Surprise, Sidney.
Wait, what? Sidney can't quiet believe: two killers?
104. .

SIDNEY
No!

136 INT. MACHER'S HOUSE - KITCHEN - NIGHT (CONTINUOUS) 136

Sidney runs to the kitchen, when- Billy stops her. Stu throws
Billy the voice changer, who grabs it and speaks as Ghostface:
BILLY
What's the matter, Sidney? You look
like you've seen a ghost.
She steps in a corner- blocked. Billy points the gun to her.
SIDNEY
Why are you doing this?
STU
It's all part of the game, Sidney.
BILLY
It's called Guess How I'm Gonna Die!
SIDNEY
Fuck you!
BILLY
Oh, no-no-no. We already play that
game, remember? You lost.
STU
It's a fun game. See, we ask you a
question if you get it wrong "BOO-
KA", you die.
BILLY
If you get it right, you die.
SIDNEY
You're crazy, both of you.
Billy goes to her. Stu comes behind Billy.
STU
We actually prefer the term
"psychotic".
SIDNEY
You'll never gonna get away with this.
BILLY
Oh, no? Tell that to Cotton Weary.
105. .

BILLY (CONT'D)
You wouldn't believe how easy he was
to frame.
STU
Watch a few movies, take a few notes.
(chuckling)
It was fun.
SIDNEY
Nooo!
She tries to move, but Billy catches her.
SIDNEY
Why? Why did you kill my mother?
BILLY
Why? WHY?! Did you hear that, Stu?
I think she wants a motive. I don't
really believe in motives, Sid. I
mean, did Norman Bates have a motive?
STU
No.
BILLY
Did they really decide why Hannibal
Lecter like to eat people? Don't
think so. See, it's a lot scarier
when there's no motive, Sid. We did
your mom a favor, Sid. That woman
was a slut-bag whore who flashed her
shit all over town like she was
Sharon Stone or something.
STU
(playing with the gun)
Yeah, we put out of her misery.
'Cause, let's face it, Sidney, your
mother was no Sharon Stone. Hmm?
Sidney looks away- disgusted.
BILLY
Is that motive enough for you? Well,
how about this? Your slut mother was
fucking my father and she's the
reason why my mom moved out and
abandoned me.
A moment of silence makes Sidney looks speechless and shocked
at Billy. Stu's too.
106. .

BILLY (CONT'D)
How's that for a motive? Maternal
abandonment causes serious deviant
behaviors. It certainly fucked you
up. It made you have sex with a
psychopath.
STU
That's right. You gave it up. Now,
you're no longer virgin.
Stu puts the hand over his mouth- scandal! He laughs. Billy
pulls Sidney against him, forward- brushes her hair.
STU (CONT'D)
I said virgin, hoops! Now you're
gonna die. Those are the rules.
BILLY
Let's pretend it's all a scary movie,
Sid. How you think it's gonna end?
Billy points at the basement door. Stu recalls something.
STU
Oh! Oh! This is the greatest part!
You're gonna love it. We got a
surprise for you, Sidney.
Stu puts the SAFETY ON on the gun, and puts it away.
STU (CONT'D)
Yeah, you're gonna love this one.
It's a scream, baby! Hold on a sec.
I'll be right back.
Stu steps back- opens the door and disappears in the basement.
BILLY
You know what time is it, Sid? Is
after midnight: your mother's
anniversary. Congratulations. We
killed her exactly one year ago,
today.
Stu exits from the basement with Mr. Prescott- tied, gagged.
STU
Attention! Oh, what do we have
behind door number three, Sidney?
SIDNEY
(tries go to him)
Daddy!
107. .

BILLY
Woah! Hold on, that's enough.
STU
(on voice changer)
Guess we won't be needing this
anymore, huh?
(holding a cell)
And, oh, look at this. Ring-ring.
Won't need this.
Stu puts the voice changer and the cell into Prescott's pocket.
BILLY
Got the ending figured out yet, Sid?
STU
Come on, Sidney. You think about it,
huh? Your daddy's the chief suspect.
We cloned his cellular. The evidence
is all right there, baby.
BILLY
What if your father snapped? Your
mother's anniversary send him off and
he went on a murder spree, killing
everybody.
STU
Except Billy and me. We were left
for dead.
BILLY
Then, he kills you and shoots himself
in the head. Perfect ending.
STU
I thought of that.
BILLY
Watch this.
Billy pulls Sidney back in the corner- goes to Stu.
BILLY
You ready?
STU
Yeah. Yeah! I'm ready, baby! Yeah,
babe, get up. Hit it.
Billy STABS Stu in the stomach. What? Sidney SCREAMS.
108. .

STU
Good one, man. Jesus. Oh, shit. My
turn.
Stu waits for the knife, Billy gives him.
BILLY
Don't forget: stay on the side, don't
go too deep.
STU
Okay, I'll remember.
This time- Stu STABS Billy, who SCREAMS and breaks a dish.
BILLY
Fuck! Fuck! Goddamn it, Stu!
STU
Sorry, Billy. I guess I got a little
too zealous, huh?
BILLY
Give me the knife.
STU
No.
BILLY
Give me the knife. Now!
Stu gives the knife to Billy.
STU
You see, Sid? Everybody dies but us.
Everybody dies but us. 'Cause we get
to carry on and plan the sequel.
'Cause, let's face it, baby. These
days, ya gotta have the sequel!
On SIDNEY: Stu SCREAMS. Billy's stabbed him. Again.
SIDNEY
You sick fucks. You've seen one too
many movies.
BILLY
No, Sid. Don't you blame the movies.
Movies don't create psychos. Movies
makes psychos more creative!
Billy STABS Stu again, who SCREAMS and... start crying?
109. .

STU
Stop it, Billy. Would ya? All right.
I can't take it, anymore. I feel a
little woozy, there!
BILLY
All right. All right. You get the
gun and I'll untie Pops, okay? Now!
STU
Okay.
Stu moves to the desk, but... there's NOTHING.
STU
Houston, we -- we have a problem,
here.
BILLY
What?
STU
The gun, man! The gun. I put it
right there, and it's not there.
BILLY
Where the fuck is it?!
WOMAN (O.S.)
Right here, asshole!
The CAMERA pulls back to reveal --

137 INT. MACHER'S HOUSE - FOYER - NIGHT (CONTINUOUS) 137

GALE, pointing the gun to Billy. She is all messed up- after
she got crushed. But still though.
BILLY
Man, I thought she was dead.
STU
She looked dead, man. Still does.
GALE
I've got an ending for you. The
reporter left for dead in the news
van, comes to, stumbles on you two
dipshits, finds the gun, foils your
plans and saves the day.
SIDNEY
I like that ending.
110. .

Billy creepy smiles at Gale.

BILLY
I know something you don't.
Gale pulls the TRIGGER and nothing. Again, no happening.
GALE
Fuck. No!
Billy approaches to Gale- takes the gun and KICKS her away.
STU
Yeah, man.

138 EXT. MACHER'S HOUSE - FRONT PORCH - NIGHT (CONTINUOUS) 138

Billy exits. Gale is over Dewey. He points the gun to her.
BILLY
Yeah. Aww. So sweet. It works
better without the safety on.
(cracking neck)
This is Gale Weathers, signing off.
STU
(to Sidney)
Baby, you're gonna love it.

139 INT. MACHER'S HOUSE - FOYER/KITCHEN - NIGHT 139

Stu's smile goes away.
STU
Shit.
BILLY
What?
Stu moves in the kitchen but Sidney and Mr. Prescott are gone.
BILLY
Where are they? Where are they?
STU
I don't know, Billy, but I'm hurtin',
man.
The phone RINGS in the kitchen.
STU
Shall I let the machine get it?
111. .

Billy hangs on:

BILLY
Hello?
SIDNEY (O.S.)
(Ghostface voice)
Are you alone in the house?
BILLY
Bitch! You bitch, where the fuck are
you?
SIDNEY (O.S.)
Not so fast. We're gonna play a
little game. It's called --
(normal)
Guess Who Just Called The Police And
Reported Your Sorry Motherfucking Ass?
BILLY
(to Stu)
Find her, you dipshit! Get up!
STU
I can't, Billy. You already cut me
deep. I think I'm dying here, man.
Billy gives Stu the end. Billy goes searching Sidney.
STU
Hello?
SIDNEY (O.S.)
Oh, Stu, Stu, Stu. What's your
motive? Billy's got one. The police
are on their way. What are you gonna
tell 'em?
STU
Peer pressure. I'm far too sensitive.
Billy takes the end again:
BILLY
I'll rip you off, you bitch! Just
like your fucking mother.
SIDNEY (O.S.)
You've gotta find me first, you pansy
assed mama's boy!
BILLY
Fuck!
112. .

He throws the end- that hits Stu on the head.

STU
You fuckin' hit me with the phone,
dick!
Billy goes in the living room- throwing glass and dishes at the
wall, and then- "slaughter" the couch.
BILLY
Fucker, where are you?! You fuck!
Stu takes the end:
STU
Did you really call the police?
SIDNEY (O.S.)
You bet your sorry ass I did.
STU
(crying)
My mom and dad are gonna be so mad at
me.
BILLY
Bitch!
Billy moves in the hallway- we do the same through the kitchen.

140 INT. MACHER'S HOUSE - HALLWAY - NIGHT (CONTINUOUS) 140

Billy is going at the stairs, when- he heard a noise. He
smiles. Steps back and opens a CLOSET at the end of the
hallway. Looks inside it. Nothing- he turns to the TV.
On SCREEN: Halloween -- Laurie is in the closet- whimpering,
attacked by the Shape.
With Billy distracted, suddenly- GHOSTFACE EXITS FROM THE
CLOSET and "stabs" Billy with a umbrella. And again. He
SHRIEKS and falls. Ghostface takes the mask off, revealing-
SIDNEY!
She's taking the costume off, when- from the kitchen Stu breaks
in. He look at Billy- SCREAMS and then, runs to her. He jumps
over Sidney, and they go into the--

141 INT. MACHER'S HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - NIGHT (CONTINUOUS) 141

Sidney rolls up, and goes over Stu. She kicks him on a wound.
Stu SCREAMS and then punches Sidney, who gets away, but...
113. .

STU
My arm!
Sidney runs but Stu reaches and jumps over her. They both fall
on the couch and then on the floor near the TV. Stu goes over
Sidney. He takes her arms down- trying immobilize her.
STU
I always had a thing for ya, Sid!
She bites his hand. He let her. She grabs a jar and BREAKS it
onto Stu's head, who falls. Sidney gets up and goes to TV.
STU
Bitch.
SIDNEY
In your dreams!
She pulls the TV over the edge- Stu SCREAMS but it's too late.
The TV falls on Stu's head. SPARKS! The TV STRIKE to DEATH
Stu, who tries to move. The sparks end. Stu's DEAD.
Sidney looks at her job and then goes away.

142 INT. MACHER'S HOUSE - HALLWAY - NIGHT 142

Sidney comes in the hallway. She gets down, sitting on the
floor near Billy. As she takes the Ghostface mask a HAND
REACHES Sidney, who SCREAMS. She turns to see it's just--
RANDY
I'm sorry. It's all right?
SIDNEY
Oh my God, Randy. I thought you were
dead.
RANDY
I probably should be. I'd never be
so happy to be a virgin.
A HAND PUNCHES Randy on the face. Sidney turns to see it's
Billy, who takes Sidney down. He takes her by the neck-
chocking her.
BILLY
Fucker! Say hello to your mother.
Sidney puts a finger into a WOUND on his SHOULDER. Billy
SCREAMS- raising the knife up. Sidney tries to defend herself.
He's going to go down with the knife, when...
114. .

GALE SHOOTS TO BILLY! Yes! He falls backward and tries to go

back- crawling. He coughs and spits blood, finishing in a
corner. Dead?
Sidney looks behind- Gale's standing on the door with the gun.
Sidney gets up and helps Randy. They go to Gale- Sidney takes
the gun.
SIDNEY
It's okay.
Sidney goes away. Randy's staring at Gale- speechless.
GALE
Guess I remember the safety that
time, you bastard.
The tree go to Billy. Staring at his (dead?) body. Sidney
kicks a Billy's leg- searching for a reaction, but no.
RANDY
Careful. This is the moment when the
supposedly dead killer comes back to
life, for one last scare.
Billy GRUNTS. Gale and Randy SCREAMS- but Sidney's READY. She
SHOOTS him in the HEAD. The perfect shot. Billy falls down:
this time is finally DEAD.
SIDNEY
Not in my movie.
The three turn, going away- when...
SOMETHING FALLS OUT OF THE CLOSET! All them turn- SCREAMING.
But it's just Mr. Prescott- still tied and gagged. Sidney
sighs.
SIDNEY
Dad. Randy help me out.
Sidney and Randy go to Mr. Prescott. She removes the scotch
over his mouth.
SIDNEY
Are you okay?
MR. PRESCOTT
Yeah.

143 EXT. MACHER'S HOUSE - SUNRISE 143

Dewey is on a stretcher- STILL ALIVE. He is getting
115. .

transported into an ambulance. He is half asleep, half awake.

As we go to --
GALE. Looking right to the CAMERA- ready for her new report.
She speaks:
GALE
Okay. I think it's going to go
something like this. Just stay with
me.
She smiles. Shining than ever.
GALE
Hi, this is Gale Weathers with an
exclusive eyewitness account of this
amazing breaking story.
We pull up to reveal- a CAMERAMAN and a BOOM OPERATOR. Gale
steps back- the other follow.
GALE (CONT'D)
Several more local teens are dead,
bringing to an end the harrowing
mystery of a mass killing that has
terrified this peaceful community,
like a plot of a scary movie. It all
began with a scream over 911 and
ended with a bloodbath that has
rocked the town of Woodsboro.
We continue to pull up- shooting the entire Macher's house- no
more innocent. As we go up, Gale voice fades. We turn to see
the sun setting over the hills of WOODSBORO. We slowly...
FADE OUT TO BLACK.
ROLL CREDITS.
THE END.
