LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, most of the pupils will be able to:
1. Understand the main idea of simple texts of one or two paragraphs
2. Understand specific information and details of simple texts of one or two paragraphs

LEARNING OUTLINE
Pre-lesson:
Pre-Lesson Task 7: Beat The Teacher - Introduce the topic of recycling.
Lesson development:-
1. Use the flashcard for ‘recycle’ to elicit materials that can be recycled. Ask pupils what they recycle.
(21st CA)
2. Play the CD Vocabulary (Track 27). Pupils point and repeat.
3. Show pupils the paragraph headings (These could be as questions, e.g. What is recycling? / What
can we recycle? / How can we recycle?)
4. Have pupils read the text about recycling and match the paragraphs to the headings. (HOTS)
5. Pupils listen to the CD (Track 28) and read. (Activity 1)
6. Pupils look at the grammar box at the top of page. Explains to pupils.
7. Pupils read again and write T for True or F for false (Activity 2). (CBA)

Pre-Lesson Task 10: Say What’s Missing-To review topic vocabulary
