intensity in which the use of a drug takes on a high priority thereby creating a strong
desire to take the substance
drug misuse- incoherent or inconsistent intake of drugs with the prescribed dosage or frequency of
use
 Gateway Drugs- long-term effects are coma, cancer, cardiovascular diseases, etc.
 Depressant Drugs- Slow down a person’s Central Nervous System
