MY UNIVERSITY EXPERIENCE

In my experience since I have been studying at university, I have experienced that

it is not the same as in high school. At high school you do not do everything on
your own because the teachers are always there to help you.

Firstly financially, at the university I always worry about money for buying data so
that I can access the information that I need. Also I have to have transport money if
I want to attend classes because the venues are in town, whereas in high school I
would walk and I did not have to pay for information that I needed because
everything was provided freely. At the university if you do not have a Financial
Aid or a bursary to pay for your studies, you also have to worry about how you are
going to pay for your studies. When I was still studying at high school, I was
treated as a child and now since I am in university I am treated as an adult so I
have to work full time and study at the same time, of which makes it so difficult to
study at university.

Another thing at the university is the lifestyle; it is not the same as the one I have
experience in high school. In high school I always used to wear uniform and now I
always have to worry about what I am going to wear if I want to attend classes
because there is no uniform. I also have to worry about what I will eat since there
is no food provided just like high school.

At university I have also adapted a new way of studying, I have to study alone at
home with no one to help me where as I used to have teachers who were always
there to help if I needed someone to help me if I did not understand something.

Another thing is since there is lockdown in our country due to covid19, it made it
even more difficult because I do everything online, of which challenges me even
more financially. It makes me buy data that will be enough for my examination.

Studying at the university also made me want to learn more than four languages
besides English because there are too many races of people who are studying there,
even though English is the one we use to communicate. At high school the teachers
used to tell us everything in class and now I have to check for my emails for
notices of which also put more pressure financially.

The university lifestyle just thought me that I must not depend on other people
even though I might need them, but I must learn to stand on my own feet. It also
made see that I will have to grow at the end learn to support myself. It made me
grow financially and thought me to manage money wisely.
