16 TENSES SYIFA

1. Simple Present Tense: Subject + Verb 1 (Present Form)


Kalimat Positif (Positive):
“They speak Javanese fluently.”
“I am a student in a Senior High Schooll.”
“He prays diligently.”
Kalimat Negatif (Negative):
“They don’t speak Javanese fluently.”
“I am not a student in a Senior High Schooll.”

2. Present Continuous Tense: Subject + am/is/are + Verb -ing (Continuous Form)


Kalimat Positif (Positive):
“She is walking with her friend.”
“I am doing my homework now.”
“Riana is talking with her mom.”
Kalimat Negatif (Negative):
“She is not walking with her friend.”
“I am not doing my homework now.”

3. Present Perfect Tense: Subject + has/have + Verb 3 (Past Participle Form)


Kalimat Positif (Positive):
“She has cooked Ayam Bakar.”
“I have watched Korean Drama.”
“They have sung Indonesia Raya together.”
Kalimat Negatif (Negative):
“She has not cooked Ayam Bakar.”
“I have not watched Korean Drama.”

4. Present Perfect Continuous Tense : Subject + has/have + Verb 3


Kalimat Positif (Positive):
“She has been singing for 30 minutes.”
“I have been reading newspaper for 10 minutes.”
“They have been living here since 1990.”
Kalimat Negatif (Negative):
“She has not been singing for 30 minutes.”
“I have not been reading newspaper for 10 minutes.”

5. Simple Past Tense: Rumus: Subject + Verb II


Kalimat Positif (Positive):
“He bought a new car last month.”
“Diana folded a paper.”
“Dad drove his car quickly last night.”
Kalimat Negatif (Negative):
“He didn’t buy a new car last month.”
“Diana didn’t fold a paper.”

6. Past Continuous Tense: Subject + was/were + Verb -ing


Kalimat Positif (Positive):
“I was watching drama when you phoned me.”
“She was studying English all day yesterday.”
“They were eating seblak when I slept two days ago.”
Kalimat Negatif (Negative):
“I was not watching drama when you phoned me.”
“She was not studying English all day yesterday.”

7. Past Perfect Tense: Subject + had + Verb 3


Kalimat Positif (Positive):
“He had finished the meal before the teacher came to the class.”
“Ani had sent the letter before She talked to her dad.”
“Dad had seen the rainbow before the rain poured.”
Kalimat Negatif (Negative):
“He had not finished the meal before the teacher came to the class.”
“Ani had not sent the letter before She talked to her dad.”

8. Past Perfect Continuous Tense : Subject + had + been + Verb -ing


Kalimat Positif (Positive):
“She had been training pencak silat all day.”
“Bayu had been learning Indonesian all day.”
“When she finished the dinner, we had been waiting for an hour.”
Kalimat Negatif (Negative):
“She had not been training pencak silat all day.”
“Bayu had not been learning Indonesian all day.”

9. Simple Future Tense: Subject + will/be going to + Verb 1 & S + be (is /are/am) +
going to + Verb 1
Kalimat Positif (Positive):
“I will swim on the pond.”
“Mom is going to cut the water spinach.”
“They will run together.”
Kalimat Negatif (Negative):
“I will not swim on the pond.”
“Mom is not going to cut the water spinach.”

10. Future Continuous Tense: Subject + will + be + Verb -ing


Kalimat Positif (Positive):
“She will be making a cake tomorrow .”
“Dad will be working tomorrow.”
“Teacher will be using a chalk at 7.00 a.m.”
Kalimat Negatif (Negative):
“She will not be making a cake tomorrow .”
“Dad will not be working tomorrow.”

11. Future Perfect Tense: Subject + will have + Verbs 3


Kalimat Positif (Positive):
“We will have traveled to Pangandaran by tomorrow.”
“Dad will have returned to his office by next day.”
“Adele will have finished her singing tour to 5 countries by next month.”
Kalimat Negatif (Negative):
“We will not have traveled to Pangandaran by tomorrow.”
“Dad will not have returned to his office by next day.”

12. Future Perfect Continuous Tense : Subject + will + have + been + Verb -
ing
Kalimat Positif (Positive):
“You will have been relaxing at villa when I go there.”
“They will have been painting my house for a week.”
“The farmer will have been spreading fertilizers for a week when the seeds is ready.”
Kalimat Negatif (Negative):
“You will not have been relaxing at villa when I go there.”
“They will not have been painting my house for a week.”

13. Simple Past Future Tense: Subject + would + Bare Infinitive atau Subject +
was/were + going to + Bare Infinitive
Kalimat Positif (Positive):
“You would understand the lesson.”
“She said that he would move to Padang next day.”
“Mom told me that she would exercise everyday.”
Kalimat Negatif (Negative):
“You would not understand the lesson.”
“She said that he would not move to Padang next day.”

14. Past Future Perfect Continuous Tense: Subject + would + have been +
Verb -ing
Kalimat Positif (Positive):
“I would have been working in Bekasi last year.”
“I should have been telling you abou the news by last sunday.”
“By this time yesterday, you would have been practicing Biology.”
Kalimat Negatif (Negative):

“I would not have been working in Bekasi last year.”

“I should not have been telling you abou the news by last sunday.”

15. Past Future Continuous Tense: Subject + would + be + Verb -ing


Kalimat Positif (Positive):
“I would be meeting at your house yesterday, but I didn’t because I had an accident.”
“I would be dancing with you last Sunday.
“They would be building a house last year.”
Kalimat Negatif (Negative):
“I would not be meeting at your house yesterday, but I didn’t because I had an accident.”
“I would not be dancing with you last Sunday.”

16. Past Future Perfect Tense: Subject + would + have + Verb 3


Kalimat Positif (Positive):
“He said that he would have been in Malaysia this afternoon.”
“I should have seen Ariel Noah if I had come earlier.”
“They would have won the games if they had practiced well.”
Kalimat Negatif (Negative):
“He said that he would not have been in Malaysia this afternoon.”
“I should not have seen Ariel Noah if I had come earlier.”
