1. Ifa says that it foresees the ire of victory for the person for

The insect consumes Abo tree
Ifa’s message for Olukoso lalu, Sango
Jenrola who 200 pebbles to overcome enemies
And have heavy dew to overcome conspiracies
When he was in the midst of uprising and crisis
He was advised to offer ebo
He complied
Before long, not too far
Join us in the midst of victory

2. Ifa says that it foresees success for this person from outside
his/her domain. Ifa assures this person that where he/she is
going will be successful. Whatever is agitating the mind of
this person shall be resolved in his/her favour when he/she
gets to where he intends going. Ifa advises this person to
offer ebo with two roosters, two guinea-fowls, two pigeons
and money. He/she also needs to feed Aje as prescribed by
Ifa. On this, Ifa says:

Translation
Tightly do we knit cowries
Tightly do we knit beads
And tightly do we meet the beads in the waist of a bride
Ifa’s message for Sekere
When going to the land of financial success
She was advised to offer ebo
She complied
Sekere please do not quarrel anymore
It is in your body that we find Okun bead
And it is from your body that Aje germinates

3. Ifa warns this person not to travel at this period. Ifa says that
there is danger and disaster that could cost this person
his/her life. Ifa advises this person to offer ebo with one
hunter uniform, one hunting rifle, three roosters, three hens
and money. on this, Ifa says:

Translation
The dungeon with it wide opening
The awo of Ode the hunter cast Ifa for the hunter
They said this year he will go to hunt in the forest
And maggot wll be coming out of his body
He was advised to offer ebo
He delayed in offering the ebo
He went to the forest
He died in the forest
Does searching for his corpse
They meant his maggot infested body

4. Ifa advises a barren woman to offer ebo in order to receive


the blessing of the fruit of the womb. Ifa advises this woman
to offer ebo with three hens, three pigeons, four rats, four
fish and money. She also needs to feed Osun with one hen
and plenty of Akara. On this, Ifa says:

Ebo ni won ni ko waa se

Translation
Owonrin sidin
Idin wonyin lobe
They cast Ifa for my mother the Otooro of Efon land
Offspring of the heavy down pour that took over the whole of
Ido land
When she was lamenting her inability to secure her own
baby
She was advised to offer ebo
She complied
Please help me plead with Osun
Alakole who never uses the broad sword to cut the okra
Please help me to plead with Osun.

5. Ifa says that there is a young woman here who is an Amere


woman and who loves to doubt everything to her peril. This
woman hates to hear the truth but she needs to act on the
truth if she does not want to regret for the rest of her life.
This woman must marry someone who is a practicing Ifa
priest or who is initiated into Ifa. Ifa also says that there is a
woman who is looking for the blessing of the fruit of the
womb. This woman will receive this blessing and it is going
to be a female child. Ebo materials: four guinea-fowls, four
hens, four pigeons and money. She also needs to feed Ifa
with eight rats and eight fish.

Translation
Igba tree germinates like other Igba trees
And Eme tree germinates like othe Eme tree
While Andoro tree produces fruits like other Andoro trees
If Igba tree fails to germinates like other Igba trees
And Eme tree refuses to gerimates like other Eme trees
Let us just leave it to die
Let it face the wrath of the axe
Ifa’s messages for Olooya-Iyun
When weeping in lamentation of her inability to beget a baby
She was advised to offer ebo
She complied
When it was time for her to deliver
She gave birth to Aworoseju
Aworoseju developed rapidly
Owolu dogbogbo fopa luu
Owo pelebe ni won fi nho su je
Ifa’s message for Aworoseju
The daughter of Olooya-Iyun
She who rejected Ifa worship
And declare that she would have nothing to do with Ifa
She was advised to offer ebo
She eventually comply

6. Ifa says that it foresees ire of victory over enemies for this
person. This person needs to propitiate Ogun because this
Irunmole is directly in charge of his/her victory. Ebo
materials: three roosters, three hens, one machete, one
cutlass, one knife and money. He/she also needs to feed
Ogun with one matured dog. On this, Ifa says:

When going on military campaign to Ejigbomekun Eseji land
He was advised to offer ebo

Please accord me full respect both in the farm and by the
stream

7. Ifa advises a family head to offer ebo so that what he knows


nothing about will not be linked to him. It is a taboo for this
person to stand surety or guarantor for anybody. Ebo
materials: one matured he-goat and money. He also needs
to feed Esu with one rooster. On this, Ifa says:

Ifa’s message for Onitiko
Offspring of Agbo o sora
The snake does not climb the fence in the presence of the
heir apparent
Ifa’s message for Baale the head of the household
When he was advised to offer ebo
So that all people’s problems will not become his own
He failed to offer the ebo on time
He later complied
Onitiko o will have settled the matter in your absence
Offspring of Agbo o sora
We have settled the matter in your absence please return
home

8. Ifa says that it foresees the ire of prosperity for this person.
He/she will become a leader of note. Ifa advises him/her to
offer ebo with two pigeons and money. He/she also needs
to feed Ifa as prescribe. On this, Ifa says:

Segede-segede laa loro
Eeyan o tosi niran temi ri

Ti ntorun bow aye
Ebo ni won ni ko waa se

Translation
Gradually do we become financially successful
Systematically do we become prosperous
Nobody had been ever being poor in family before
Ifa’s message for Oririmojo
When coming from heaven to earth
He was advised to offer ebo
He complied
Ifa I become financially successful
It is in your hand
O Oririmojo

9. Ifa says that this person shall succeed where others had
failed. If he/she had gone for interview along with many
others in order to secure a position, he/she shall be offered
that appointment. And also if this person is bidding for a
contract along with many others he/she shall be the one who
will win the contract. If it is contest or competition among
many people he/she shall be the winner. Ifa advises this
person to offer ebo with one matured female sheep, plenty of
corn meal leaf wrappers, yam peelings, and money. He/she
also needs to feed Obatala with one ape, feed Ogun with
one rooster and feed Ija with one rooster. On this, Ifa says:

When going to marry the daughter of Orisa Gbowuji

He was advised to offer ebo

10. Ifa says that this person will be blessed with four great
children in life. Whether he/she offered ebo or not, he/she
will receive this blessing. However, there is the need for
him/her to offer ebo so that he/she will not find
himself/herself socially and physically far away from his/her
beloved children. Ebo materials here are four matured he-
goats, four matured dogs and money. on this, Ifa says:

They cast Ifa for Onimoba
When lamenting his inability to beget his own children
He was advised to offer ebo
He complied
When he will give birth
He first gave birth to Togunde
And Tabode
And to Ladele
And also to Ladiran
He was advised to offer ebo in order to see the child
regularly
He failed to comply
Now Togunde and Tabode and Ladele and Ladiran
I greet you all
All of you with exception

11. Ifa warns this person not to go to pay condolence to


those who just lost their loved ones. It is a taboo for him/her
to do so. If this person is in the habit of paying condolences
to others, he/she runs the risk of being consumed over the
loss of his/her own beloved one too. Ifa advises this person
to offer ebo with one matured he-goat, porcelain plates, and
money. on this, Ifa says:

Translation
The brass gong hits the ground and made a ricocheting
sound
The spear hits the ground and quavered
The porcelain plate hits the ground and broke into
pieces
Ifa’s message for Iyere
The child of Agbonniregun
He was advised to offer ebo
He complied
An awo must not cry over the loss of anyone
It is Iyere that an awo chants

12. Ifa assures this person that he/she will overcome all his
enemies. There is no need for this person to entertain any
fear. Ifa advises this person to offer ebo with one matured
he-goat and money. on this, Ifa says:

When Olu was going to wage war on Ita-gidimoro
He was advised to offer ebo

13. Ifa says that it foresees success and accomplishment

14. Ifa says that this person need to hold unto ifa in
anything that he/she does. Ifa says that it foresees the Ire of
childbearing for this person. ebo materials: four rats, four
fish, two hens and money. He/she also needs to feed Ifa
with two rats, two fish and one hen. On this, Ifa says:

15. Ifa says that it foresees the ire of child bearing for this
person. He/she shall be blessed with many children. Ifa
advises this person to offer ebo with four rats, four fish, two
hens and money. on this, Ifa says:

16. Ifa says that it foresees prosperity, accomplishment and


elevation for the person for whom this Odu is born. Ifa
advises this person not to take note of insults, or abuses in
the discharge of his/her duties and responsibilities. Ifa
advises this person to offer ebo with two pigeons, two
guinea-fowls, two roosters, two ducks and money. on this,
Ifa says:
