Part 1: Theoretical Calculations

Please fill table with calculated and measured values

Calculated ZInternal 1001.97 Angle 3.6 degrees Ohms

LTspice ZInternal 1001.97 Angle 3.6 degrees Ohms

Calculated RLoad 1000 Ohms

Calculated CLoad .253 uF

Question: Show calculations for Zinternal, RLoad, and CLoad.

1
Z = jwL + R

= j(20pi)+1000

= 1001.97 angle 360 degrees

C = 1/(10,000*pi*2pi)

= .253 uF

Rload = Rinternal = 1000 Ohms

Question: Screenshot and paste network analysis of Zinternal from LTspice.

The quality is better if you zoom in

Part 2: Testing Rload

Question: Plot a graph with Pload on the y-axis and Rload on the x-axis, and screenshot
and paste it below. Which Rload values has the highest Pload?

3
The 100 ohm resistor load has the highest Pload, as seen in the graph above.

Question: How do these measured values compare to the theoretically calculated values?
Please explain any differences or similarities.

They are quite different, which could be due to the fact that we're using non-ideal voltage
sources, or that the signal being outputted by the ADALM is different than what we
anticipated, resulting in the calculated and measured values not aligning

Question: Plot a graph with Pload on the y-axis and Cload on the x-axis, and screenshot
and paste it below. Which Cload values has the highest Pload?

5
The highest Pload is .1 uF as seen in the graph above

Question: How do these measured values compare to the theoretically calculated values?
Please explain any differences or similarities.

The measured and calculated value are similar enough we can assume any discrepency is due
to unideal elements. Most values between .1 uF - .3 uF were fairly close anyways, so it makes
sense that the measured values would also be very similar.
