BASIC NEED APPROACH:
The basic needs approach is one of the major approaches to the measurement of absolute poverty
in developing countries. It attempts to define the absolute minimum resources necessary for
long-term physical well-being, usually in terms of consumption goods.

TYPES OF BASUIC NEEDS APPROACH:

There are following general types of basic need approach:

 Food
 Cloth
 Shelter
 Healthcare
 Education
QUESTION: What would be different in current scenario of Corona Lock Down if
Basic Needs Approach was followed in Pakistan?

The general type of basic need approaches as referenced above are directly or indirectly relate
with the economy of the nation. Because of the lockdown circumstance, Pakistan's economy
significantly falls which lead the nation to experience the ill effects of various emergencies. Such
circumstance of lockdown isn't easy for any nation yet at the same time some developing
countries of the world are still figure out how to run their nations in a decent way and giving
their inhabitants with basic facilities. If there should be an occurrence of Pakistan, on the off
chance that we have follow these basic needs approach, at that point today a huge amount of
individuals would not be suffered, the approaches are:
1) Proper Healthcare System
2) Good Education policies
3) In regularized way to provide food and shelter to low class people.

PROPER HEALTH CARE SYSTEM:

Medicinal services system is one of the most important need of the present circumstance of
COVID-19, as Pakistan is a country with just 1300 ventilators which is going to manage 10811
confirmed coronavirus patients. As the circumstance turns out to be worse the nation has to face
deficiency of masks, sanitizers, hand wash and individual protective equipment (PPE) suite,
which are the fundamental sanitary needs of today’s circumstance.
If the Government had taken a precautionary measure before the appearance of COVID-19 in
Pakistan and attempt to deal with the exorbitant measure of sanitary needs and convey it door to
door with the precautionary measure and provide effective awareness among the public to isolate
their selves if they feel any sort of symptoms as well as make a technique for peoples coming
from everywhere throughout the world to Pakistan to isolate them until the report will come
might helped them in future to battle against such kind of deadly viruses or some other disaster..

GOOD EDUCATION POLICIES:

As the circumstance of lockdown emerges, all the educational activities move to Online learning
strategy, which is a good initiative but companies of a lot of problems, for example, internet
lacking, poor learning, electricity issues and workload. If the need of better educational polices
would have been in the fulfillment of basic approaches, then it todays circumstance would be an
different.
For instance, to developed such sorts of academic activities which will upgrade the learning of
the students rather then simply starting the idea of internet based learning. Improve the network
resources, make feasible for the remote area students to learn on schedule and to be present on
time. The policies should be same for the resource person and for the students, there would be
flexibility for students and resource persons. The workload should be less then the ordinary so
that in this critical time, everybody (resource person and students) can handle the academic and
personal activities without any problem. Such kind of approach should be fix in basic need
approach of the nation, so that in coming years, the educational activities could stay practical
without any kind of hazard.

IN REGULARIZED WAY TO PROVIDE FOOD AND SHLTER TO LOW

CLASS PEOPLE:
Pakistan has very dense population and government repeated failed to give adequate housing to
our most vulnerable population means that failure to act currently will lead to catastrophic
consequences. Living in crowded conditions, often without access to running water, our poorest
citizens will be not able to self-isolated, practice social distancing, and frequent hand washing.
Poor people residents are not being provided with the daily basic needs which lead them to leave
their homes facing challenge of COVID-19 to food or money.
The Government should help financially or giving essential needs to the lower class society of
the country, to not only fulfill their demands but to fulfill their responsibility of humanity.
Government should dismiss all the bills of general society, bring down the prices of basic food
item things, giving basic needs which include wheat, milk, ghee, oil, sugar, one or two items of
vegetables on regular basic. Should facilitate the lower class with all the healthcare services give
them every single sanitary items, learn them how to fight against this virus and give free internet
facilities to the individuals who don't bear the cost of fast internet services.
