evidences, assertion is declared often
with no support or proof.

These are the features of an exposition:


1. Using mental process – is to state
what the writer thinks or feels about
the issue.
2. Using the material process – is to state
what happened.
3. Using relational process – is to state
what is or should be.
4. Using simple present tense – is to tell
about the present event.
5. Using transitional signals to show
contrast. (although, however, and etc.)
6. Using con\necting words – firstly,
secondly, thirdly, before, additionally,
however, etc.
7. Using emotive words – words like
woman and child are neutral words as
no feelings arise about them.

caused by smoking. If we smoke five
cigarettes a day the risk is nineteen greater.
Ninety-five percent of people who suffer of
bronchitis are those who are smoking.
Smokers are two and half times more likely to
die of heart disease than non-smokers.
Additionally, children of smokers are
more likely to develop bronchitis and
pneumonia. In one-hour smoky room,
nonsmoker breathless as much as substance
causing cancer as if he has smoked fifteen
cigarettes.
Smoking is really good for tobacco
companies because they do make much
money from smoking habit. Smoking however
is not good for everybody else.
