INTRADISCIPLINARY PERFORMANCE TASK IN PHYSICAL SCIENCE

FIRST SEMESTER, S.Y. 2023-2024

Rationale:
The teaching process within the integrative intradisciplinary subjects is expected
to align with the constructivist approach, which attributes a central role to the
teaching/learning process, as learners become active participants in constructing their
own meaningful, unified body of knowledge (Kara, 2018; Kimhi, 2023). An
intradisciplinary approach involves an arrangement of the knowledge and skills within
one subject area. This approach respects the subject's way of knowing distinct
conceptual structures and methods of inquiry. It aims at integrating the subject's
knowledge and skills into a coherent whole (Manitoba Education and Training, 1997).
Performance tasks can be designed and explicitly taught using a common rubric with
corrective feedback, aiding both the development and assessment of critical thinking
(Cargas, Williams, & Rosenberg, 2017).

Objectives:
1. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the Theory of Relativity.
2. Create a creative, interactive, and educational video presentation showcasing
the impact of the Theory of Relativity to humans.
3. Analyze and evaluate the implications of the Theory of Relativity on various
aspects of human life.

Date: January 19, 2023

Activity Title: “Timeless Legacy: Exploring Theory of Relativity’s Impact on
Humanity"
Purpose: This task aims to spark curiosity and stimulate further inquiry into scientific
theories and their real-world implications especially on the human development.
Working on a video presentation encourages collaboration among students as they
research, brainstorm ideas, and collectively create a coherent narrative.

GOAL Create a video presentation that details the impact of the Theory of
Relativity to human
ROLE Vlogger Physicist
AUDIENCE Science enthusiasts
SITUATION You are a physicist who studies Einstein’s Theory of Relativity and with that
you have been invited to a Science Exhibit to present the impact of his
theory to humans. Create a video explaining his theory, you may use props
or materials to effectively discuss the theory. There should be performers, a
videographer, and presenter or narrator.
