Lesson Plan for Popsicle Stick Picture Frame

I. Objectives:
1. To make picture frame with the use of popsicle sticks;
2. To display creativity.
3. To practice fine motor skills.
4. To show to their family the craft for the day.

II. Materials:
1. Colored grove popsicle sticks
2. Glue gun and glue sticks
3. Scissors
4. Picture
5. Gems or other decorations
6. Ribbon, string or magnets (optional)

III. Strategy:

Let the pupils identify the colors of the popsicle sticks

B. Development of the lesson:


1. Introduce the lesson- Popsicle Stick Picture Frame
2. Identifying colors
3. Explain what is the use of a picture frame

C. Procedure:
Prepare all the materials.
Step 1: Line up 8-9 popsicle sticks side-by-side. Orient them horizontally. This will make the base of
your frame. You do not need to glue them together.
Step 2: Hot glue 3 popsicle sticks down on top of the 9 popsicle sticks. Orient these sticks vertically.
Glue one stick in the middle of the frame base. Glue the other two sticks to the left and right of
the frame base. These three sticks will hold the frame base together.
Step 3: Flip your frame over and place the photo on top. Position the photo in the center of the base, but
do not glue it down. You will be using the photo as your template.
Step 4: Glue a stick on each side of your frame base.
Step 5: Glue a stick down and across the top and bottom of your frame base.
Step 6: Decorate your frame
Step 7: Slide a photo down through the top of the frame.
Step 8: At the back of your frame, glue a ribbon on the upper right and left side so it will be able to hang
on the wall.

IV. Evaluation:The teacher rates their work with the following scale: excellent, very good, good and needs
improvement.

V. Assignment:
Show your craft to your family and ask them what they think about it in your room or living room.
