1. What makes a person Filipino? If a person has Filipino parents but born in another
country, is he/she still a Filipino? What about if a person with foreign parents is born
and raised in the Philippines, he/she Filipino? Explain your reasoning.
Being Filipino is often associated with cultural identity connection to the
Philippines and a sense of belonging if someone has a Filipino parents but born in
another country that may still be considered as Filipino by heritage and cultural ties.
On the other hand a person with foreign parents born and raise in the Philippines may
also identify as Filipino due to their up bringing and integration to the local culture.

2. Have you interacted with people who have a different culture from yours? How
was Your interaction with them? Was it productive? Was it respectful? What could
you had done for a better interaction?
Yes, the outcomes of interactions with people from different cultures and
productive, respectful interactions and its involves of open mindedness curiosity and
willingness to understand their perspective.

3. What is your attitude toward people who have a different culture from yours? Do
you celebrate how they are different from you? Do you look down on them?
I do not look down on them instead I respect their own culture and Ill try to
understand their perspective and our social differences.

4. Consider regional discrimination in the Philippines: If a woman speaks Cebuano or


Bisaya in Manila, she is often assumed to be a maid or yaya; If a man speaks Tagalog
with a heavy, provincial accent, he is often assumed to be a laborer, driver, or
involved is some form of manual or servile labor. What are your own discriminatory
practices?
The said discriminatory practices are base on stereotyping individuals base on
their regional language or accent associating them with specific occupation or social
roles. This type of discrimination stems from preconceive notions about people from
certain regions, leading to unfair assumptions and biases.

5. What skills and knowledge do you need to improve in to become multicultural


literate?
Becoming a multicultural literate involves developing skills and knowledge in
cultural awareness and understanding and appreciating diverse culture including their
costumes, tradition and values. Communication skills being able to effectively
communicate across cultural differences recognizing and respecting different
communication styles.
6. Why should you as an individual respect and value people who are different from
you?
You should possess the acceptation and respecting of cultural differences
cause we are living in one place where love is universal.

1. Describe globalization to a peer.
Globalization refers to the inter connectedness and inter dependence of
nations economies, culture and societies on a global scale . It involves the exchange of
good ,services, information and ideas across boarders, facilitated by advancements
and technology, communication and transportation.
2. Explain to a peer what multi-cultural literacy is.
Multicultural literacy is the ability to understand, appreciate, and effectively
engage with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. It involves developing
awareness, knowledge and skills to navigate and communicate in a world that is
increasingly interconnected.
3. With a partner or triad, share answer to the following question: How can you teach
multicultural literacy in the classroom?
Fostering inclusion and awareness around multicultural education and taking a
culturally responsive approach to teaching benefits all students. Not only does
creating greater multicultural awareness and inclusion help students with different
backgrounds and needs succeed, but it encourages acceptance and helps prepare
students to thrive in an exponentially diverse world.

What environmental issues and concerns move you and provoke you to action? What
efforts and practical steps do you influence others to take action? Global Warming
and Climate Change are the issues provoking me to take actions. The change will start
with me so I need to change my ways, re-calibrating my mind and redirecting my
steps steps. By Promoting the conservation of natural resources , tree plating and
proper waste segration we can make this world a greener, cleaner,safer and healthier
environment.

Sustainability is the practice of meeting the needs of the present generation without
compromising the ability of future generation to meet their own needs.Its involve
finding a balance between environmental, social and economic factor to ensure long-
term wellbeing for both people and the planet.
Ultimately, sustainability is about recognizing the inter connectedness of all aspects of
life and striving for a harmonious and balance existence.

2. What are greening initiatives done by your department or colleges?

Green Building Practice: Constructing or retro fitting buildings to meet green building
standards,such as LEED certification. Which focuses on energy efficiency, water
conservation, and sustainable materials.

Environmental Awareness: In connection on sustainability to curriculum, organizing


workshops, seminars,and events to educate students and staff about environmental
issues and sustainable practices.

3. What personal greening initiatives would you propose to your own campus,
community, and home?

Campus- Implementing recycling programs and ensure proper waste management.


Community- Organize tree planting and clean- up drives initiatives to increase green
spaces and improve air quality
Home- Create a backyard compost-pit and backyard garden grow own food and
