REC Open Talent Hunt Program Junior & Sub Junior Boys and Junior &

Sub Junior Girls - 2024

Introduction

Boxing Federation of India in association with Rural Electrification Corporation & Sports Authority of India is
conducting the 4 Region REC Open Talent Hunt Program and 1 Combined National Level Talent Hunt Program
for the holistic development of Junior & Sub Junior Boxers in the country. The aim of this Open Talent Hunt
Program is to identify and help recognize the talent at the Elite and Youth levels in the country.

*Boxers from any Region can participate in all 4 Regional Open REC Talent Hunt Program

Format of REC Open Talent Hunt Program

Junior Boys / Girls: From each Group/Region Boys -13 x 4 = 52 boxers, Girls 13 x 4 = 52 boxers in each
Group will be selected for the REC Talent Hunt Program. Thus, the total number of boxers so selected will be
208 (13 x 4 x 4) Boy Boxers & 208 (13 x 4 x 4) Girl Boxers.
Sub Junior Boys / Sub Junior Girls From each Group/Region Boy -14 x 4 = 56 boxers, Girl 14 x 4 = 56
boxers in each Group will be selected for the REC Talent Hunt Program. Thus, the total number of boxers so
selected will be 224 (14 x 4 x 4) Boy Boxers & 224 (14 x 4 x 4) Girl Boxers.

Format of REC Open Talent Hunt Program

On this basis about 208 Junior Boys Boxers & 224 Sub Junior Boys Boxers and 208 Junior Girl Boxers and
224 Sub Junior Girls boxers will be eligible to participate in the Combined National Level Talent Program. In
the REC Talent Hunt Program, the bouts will be held on knock-out basis. During the REC National Open Talent
Hunt Program, Scholarships will also be given according to merit.

If a boxer has come in the top 4 ranking in any Region of the REC Open Talent Hunt Program, then,
that boxer will not be eligible to participate from any other Regions If there is a violation to this rule,
he/she will be disqualified.

Competition Format Three (3) rounds of two (2) minutes, One (1) minute rest between
rounds. IBA’s 10 points must scoring system shall be followed.
Championship will be conducted as per IBA`s/BFI AOB Technical
& Competition Rules.

Eligibility for Junior Boys &


Junior Girls Boxers born during the year 1st January 2008 - 31st December 2009
are eligible.
Eligibility for Sub Junior Boys &
Sub Junior Girls Boxers born during the year 1st January 2010 - 31st December 2011
are eligible.
Entries will be accepted only after the registration on the given link.
All Boxers must have their Original birth Certificate, Aadhar card &
Medical Book. Photocopy of the original Birth Certificate and Aadhar
card must be submitted at the time of Initial weigh-in and medical
examination. All boxers must comply before registration, with an age
verification test report as per NCAFS norms and formats.

Medical & Weigh-in Daily weigh-in and medical examination will be held at the
venue from 0600-0700 hrs. for those boxers who are drawn to box on the
respective days from 11th March to 18th March 2024.

Draw Draw will be held on 11th March 2024 at 5:00 pm.

Team officials The participating teams are entitled to bring three (3) coaches at their
own expense.

Dress Competitors shall Box in Boxing shoes or shoes minus spikes and
without heels, shorts not exceeding knee length, and a vest covering the
chest and back. Boxers shall wear a Red & Blue Vest depending on the
color of the Corner. Where vests and Shorts are of the same color, the
Beltline must be clearly indicated by using an elastic waistband 10 Cm
wide of contrasting color.

Boarding/Lodging (For Boxers


And coaches) All the boxers & coaches have to manage their own Lodging &
Boarding.

Boarding/Lodging (For Technical Technical Officials are only entitled to the Boarding and Lodging
Officials) from Host.

Arrival particular All the boxers & Team Officials have to manage their own
transportation. To & Fro to the place of stay to the competition venue.

Conveyance Transport will only be available for Technical officials to and fro the
place of stay to the venue of the championship and back.

Registration The entry will be done by boxer himself / herself by visiting the given
registration link.

NTO & RJ’s NTO’s and RJ’s will be appointed by Boxing Federation of India

Important
1. To and Fro cost of travel to Assam, Guwahati and back of the Team / Officials will be
the responsibility of respective units.
2. The Team / Officials shall not arrive at venue earlier than the 11th March, 2024 and
shall leave by 18th March, 2024 by noon.
3. IBA / Boxing Federation of India qualified officials representing affiliated units must bring
a nomination letter from their respective units President / Secretary intimating that they have
been nominated as Ring official.
4. All boxers must possess their own Gum shield (not of red or partially red color) Red & Blue
Vest & Shorts/Skirt according to their respective corner allocation.) Pubic protector or
breast protector may be worn if needed.
5. The Boxer’s weight should not exceed the maximum of the Boxer’s weight class nor be
below the minimum of the Boxer’s weight class. However, for daily Weigh-in Boxer need
to maintain his weight so as not to exceed upper limit of weight class.
6. No body piercing and body accessories are allowed to be worn during the bout and Medical
Examination & Weighing In.
7. Women are permitted to wear sports hijab should they want to due to religious reasons.
8. Boxers must carry their Boxer Record Book. They should also carry their original Municipal
Birth Certificate or School Leaving Certificate (SLC) or Original copy of Age verified by
the School on their letter head or Mark Sheet of 8th / 10th standard for Boxing Federation of
India’s registration purpose, along with Aadhar Card.
9. “Age Estimation Certificate” for all participating Boxers conducted at a Government
Hospital as per SAI norms is needed to be submitted during Medicals.
10. All boxers must carry a recent Hepatitis B, C and HIV test certificate (Valid for 3 months).
11. All participating Boxers and RJ’s also need to submit Annual Medical Fitness Certificate
as per AIBA Valid for 1 Month).
12. The Organizing Committee will provide Boxing gloves and Head Guards to all the Boxers for
their respective bouts. Hand Bandages will be provided as well.
13. Adherence of strict discipline will be observed at the place of boarding/lodging and at the
venue. Any breach of discipline will result in withdrawal of boarding and lodging
arrangements, followed by disciplinary action.
14. The Championship will be conducted as per AIBA / BFI AOB Competition and Technical Rules.
15. Borrowing of boxers from any other unit, other than those approved by BFI is strictly prohibited.
16. Persons accompanying the team as Manager and / or Coach will not be permitted to
officiate TO / RJ in the championship.
17. No extra member in the team will be allowed.
18. Entry will be allowed ONLY to Boxers / Coaches / R&J's who have BFI Registration Number.
19. Boxers from any Region can participate in all 4 Regional REC Open Talent Hunt
Program
20. If a boxer has come in the top 4 ranking in any Region of the REC Open Talent Hunt
Program, then, that boxer will not be eligible to participate from any other Regions If
there is a violation to this rule, he/she will be disqualified.
