1 Check the following parts for wear of damage and replace if necessary.
A) Bearings
B) Pump Shaft
C) Back Cover
D) Gland Packing Monthly
E) Wear rings

2 Bearings must be lubricated to prevent intermetallic contact between the

rolling elements and to prevent the ingress of moisture and foreign matter If needed
into the bearing itself. Monthly

3 Maintain cleanliness of pump room & pump pipes. Weekly

4 Maintain cleanliness of control panel box Daily
5 Check if power indicator pilot light is illuminated Daily
6
Testing of Fire Pump - Check for the following when doing No flow test:
a) Leaks on pipe connections
b) Check pressure gauge should be within allowable range- fire pump will
Monthly
start if the pressure drops to 140 psi.
c) Check for unusual noises
d) Check Pump if overheat

7 Annual Testing of Firepump by Fire pump professional Yearly

JOCKEY PUMP
1 Maintain cleanliness of control panel box Daily
2 Check if power indicator pilot light is illuminated Daily
3 Test pump automatic response using drain valves
When testing check pressure gauge if within outlet and inlet pressure Weekly
range.
4 Check for leaks on pipe Daily
TRANSFER PUMP

GeneralMaintenance for thi pump includes the following:
a) Pump room should be clean & free from any dust particles or any related
matters to maintain the smooth operation of pump & motor bearings,
Mechanical seals and Motor exhaust Fan.
b) Floor of pump room or storage should be dry, free from any stagnant
water to avoid certain accidents. Daily
c) No moisture or humidity exists inside the pump room or storage.
Necessary ventilation system is required.
d) Pump room or storage must be secured, free from any thieves and
trespassers. Only authorized personnel or maintenance should have an
access inside.
2 Check the bearings for possible wear damage Weekly
3 Check Mechanical Seal if there leakage is found Weekly
4
Check electrical conditions such as:
a) Power voltafe fluctuations
b) Electrical Motor, Check for wires/cables terminations inside panel box

SLUDGE PUMP
1
Make sure that the cable intry flange and strain relief clamp are tight.
2 Inspect the cables for cuts, scrapes or sharp bend.
3
Megger the insulation resistance between the phases and between any
phase and ground. Resistance value should be greater than 1 megaohm

4 Make sure all screws, bolts and nuts are tight. Check condition of pump
lifting eyes and replace if damaged or worn, Replace any external part that
appears worn or damaged.
SUMP PIT PUMP

ELEVATOR PIT PUMP
1
Check current and ammeter fluctuation daily. If ammeter fluctuation is
great, even though within the limits of pump rating, foreign matter may be
clogging the pump.
If the quantity if liquid dischraged fall suddenly, foreign matter may be
blocking the sunction inlet.
2
Measure Insulation resistance. The Value should be more than 1 megaohm.
3 Replace Oil in the mechanical seal chamber once a year.
GENERATOR
1 Maintain cleanliness of generator casing and ensure that no foreign object
is scattered inside the generator.
2 Check for gerenator system leaks eg. Lubricant, Coolant, Air Intake, Fuel and
exhaust leaks.
