PROTOCOL :
Plain CT scan of Brain done taking thin contiguous axial sections in MDCT
SUPRATENTORIUM
• Old lacunar infarct in right parietal and in left frontal region
• Gliotic focus in right corona radiata
• Bilateral periventricular hypodensities noted
• Bilateral lateral ventricle and third ventricle are dilated
• Cortical sulci appear dilated
• Basal cistern/ sylvian fissures appear dilated.
• Sella and parasellar regions appear normal.
• No e/o subdural/extradural collection.
POSTERIOR FOSSA
• Bilateral cerebellar hemispheres appear normal.
• IV ventricle appears dilated.
• Old lacunar infarct in pons
• Prepontine and CP angle cisterns appear dilated.
Globes and orbit appears normal.
Bony calvarium appears normal.
IMPRESSION:
• Old lacunar infarct in right parietal, left frontal region and in pons
• Gliotic focus in right corona radiata
• Bilateral periventricular ischemic changes
• Age related atrophic changes in the brain
