(Pupils starts reading the story)

My family and I always want to go to
different beaches here in the
Philippines. We do a lot of fun and
exciting things at the beach. At the
seashore, we see a lot of children
joyfully doing sandcastles which we
also love doing. Others excitedly
make sand balls and throw them in
the water. While my brothers seriously

dig a big hole as a trap for us, we
actively play volleyball using our
favorite colorful beach ball. Those
activities are some of too many things
that truly make us joyful.

They often end in "-ly" and tell us more
about the verb in a sentence. For
example, "quickly," "slowly," "carefully,"
and "happily" are all adverbs of manner
because they describe how something is
done.

E. VALUING PROCESS

Why is it important to study adverbs of

manner?

Very good! Studying adverbs of manner

more detail. By using adverbs like
"quickly," "slowly," or "carefully," we can
add nuances to our communication,
making it clearer and more descriptive.
Adverbs of manner also help us express
emotions and attitudes about actions. For
