FNAF LORE TIMELINE

Intro
This timeline is the complete FNAF Story (so far) and if you are wond
ering what the full story of FNAF is, this thing will show you everythin
g you need to know.

Fazbear Entertainment Created

Sometime in the 1970s-80s in Hurricane, Utah: Fazbear Entertainmen
t was founded by two entrepreneurs William Afton and Henry Emily
(which really quickly, I want to point out these aren’t the only two wo
rking in this business throughout all these years, there are definitely
unnamed employees in the background of these locations). These tw
o engineers created a diner called: Fredbear’s Family Diner.

Fredbear’s Family Diner Opens

The diner would’ve probably been completely absolutely fine on its o
wn, but they came up with an idea of springlock suits, these were an
d two-in-one type of suit. One side being that these suits could be we
arable costumes by employees by the springlocks holding the endosk
eleton its folded position, allowing the employees to be inside. But a
nother side to these suits can be animatronics performing for custom
ers automatically by having its endoskeleton in its usual position. Alth
ough quick disclaimer, too much water and moisture inside of the sui
t while in its folded position may cause it to spring into its usual/perf
ormance position, the same will happen if the springlocks aren’t wou
nd all the up and/or done correctly. The first two created were Fredb
ear and Springbonnie, both with a golden and purple color code. This
location was probably successful with the new invention of these spri
nglock suits, so Fazbear Entertainment created a new location: Fredd
y Fazbear’s Pizzeria.
Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Opens
This location featured four animatronics; Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie the
Bunny (well rabbit), Chica the Chicken and Foxy the Pirate Fox, all wit
h an “Endo-01” version of the endoskeletons. This caused them to cr
eate the Fredbear and Friends TV Shows, and Toys and Masks both b
ased on the animatronics. Around this time Henry created an animatr
onic called Security Puppet, created purely to help protect his daught
er Charlie just in case anything goes awry.

But one night, the Security Puppet was trapped inside of its box by a
group of bullies, bullying Charlie by leaving her outside. This night Wil
liam Afton (not gonna assume the motives by the way), murders Hen
ry’s daughter Charlie in the backally of… where? Fredbear’s or Fredd
y’s? Although its not 100% confirmed, it seems as though Charlie was
killed at Fredbear’s Family Diner thanks to the Ultimate Guide written
by Scott Cawthon himself mentioning so.

Later That Night Minigame

But either way, William drives away from his first murder, while the S
ecurity Puppet goes outside to Charlie, only for her to be given new li
fe, possessing the Puppet animatronic.

Circus Baby’s Pizza World Opens under Afton Robotics

Sometime after this, William Afton wants to kill more, so he creates h
is own Circus-themed Funtime animatronics and puts them in his ow
n location: Circus Baby’s Pizza World, under his side-company Afton R
obotics. His daughter Elizabeth seemed to fall in love with Baby and
wanted nothing more than to see her with her own eyes. But William
wouldn’t allow her to do so as these Funtime animatronics were mad
e to specifically lure, capture, then kill children. In order to help him d
o this, Circus Baby has an internal icecream dispenser, Ballora has det
er and misdirect remote activation, Funtime Freddy has both group c
oordination and voice mimicking and finally, Funtime Foxy has parent
al voice replay and variable scent release.

Elizabeth Afton dies (Circus Baby Icecream Minigame)

Although being told not to, one day Elizabeth goes to see Circus Baby,
(“Where did the other children go?” - Elizabeth) she realizes she’s on
her own, only for Baby to capture her, murdering her in cold blood. T
his would lead Elizabeth to possess Circus Baby.

Circus Baby’s Closes

After Elizabeth died, that incident caused William to close Circus Bab
y’s Pizza World.

FNAF 4 Minigames (Days until party)

William youngest son, Evan (also known as the crying child) has a ma
ssive fear of the animatronics, his brother Michael tormenting him ni
ght after night.

The Bite of ‘83

Evan ends up having his birthday party at the diner with other kids be
ing invited as well which by the way it seems like he didn’t organize hi
mself as the day of the birthday party he’s seen literally crying on the
floor, only to be picked on and picked up by Michael and his friends. T
hey carry him to the stage and put him inside Fredbear’s mouth as a j
oke, and they’re all laughing. But their laughter ends as Fredbear bite
s down and crushes his skull, eventually causing the death of the bite
victim.

After that incident, it caused Evan to possess Fredbear and causing Fr
edbear’s Family Diner to close.

The Missing Children’s Incident in 1985

Now there’s only one location open, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. Fredb
ear and Springbonnie are retired to this location, put into a safe room
away from any regular employees. William is just out of his mind at t
his point, so he gets into the Springbonnie suit and murders five child
ren at the pizzeria. Not all at the same time by the way because, (“I w
as the first I have seen everything” - Chica) he murders a girl with blo
nde hair named Susie by luring her away from the arcades, claiming h
er dead dog is still alive and to follow him. William stuffed these child
ren into the main five animatronic suits. Gabriel gets put into Freddy,
Fritz gets put into Foxy, Susie into Chica, Jeremy into Bonnie, and final
ly Cassidy into the Golden Freddy who at this point is a run-down Fre
dbear suit. This became the infamous Missing Children Incident.

Give Gifts. Give Life.

But the Puppet (now possessed by Charlie), ends up giving new life to
the children, making the possess the suits their dead bodies inhabit. I
just want to point out really quickly, I’m not too sure how the spirits
work, but it seems like some just possess the animatronics like the co
re four, but some are more powerful like the Puppet being able to giv
e new life and Golden Freddy teleporting and doing unnatural things.

First Freddy’s Closes

But back to Fazbear’s entertainment, they shut down the first Freddy
Fazbear’s Pizzeria after an abundance of children went missing.

FNAF 2 Freddy’s Opens

A few years later, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria (but new) opened! Fazbea
r Entertainment decided to let the old withered animatronics reside i
n the back room and (“We just use them for parts now. The idea at fir
st was to repair them… uh, they even started retrofitting them with s
ome of the newer technology, but they were just so ugly, you know?
And the smell…” - Phone Guy) of dead kids, it’s literally the smell of d
ead kids.

Toy animatronics created

Anyway, this new location featured a new variation of our favorite ch
aracters, this time as toy animatronics. These Toy Animatronics featur
ed the new “Endo-02” endoskeletons, they had new advanced mobili
ty that allowed them to walk around during the day, and finally they
also had a facial recognition system. This location also introduced Ball
oon Boy and featured the return of the Puppet from the previous loc
ation. Once again, Golden Freddy and Springbonnie were also here in
a safe room. Throughout only a few weeks’ time , kids just couldn’t b
ehave themselves and kept tearing Mangle apart, staff having to put t
hem back together every shift. (“So eventually they just stopped tryin
g and left him as some ‘take apart and put back together’ attraction.”
- Phone Guy)
Another MCI
One day, William took the Springbonnie suit from the back and killed
another five children, leading them to possess the toy animatronics.
Thanks to the second Missing Childrens Incident, (“The toy animatro
nics have been acting very unusual, almost aggressive towards the st
aff. They interact with the kids just fine, but when the encounter an a
dult, they just… stare.” - Phone Guy)

The Bite of ‘87

This is when the infamous Bite of ‘87 occurs, killing the day shift secu
rity guard causing them to lose the frontal lobe of their brain, making
the day shift available, leaving Jeremy Fitzgerald no reason to be ther
e during the night.

FNAF 2 Gameplay (Highly likely to be playing as Michael)

Just to pause here for a second, Jeremy Fitzgerald is highly likely to be
an alias of Michael Afton, although it’s not actually confirmed. But w
e can assume Fritz Smith is Michael Afton because he was fired for th
e same reason as FNAF 1’s Security Guard (who we know it’s Michael,
more on that in a second), so it would kinda make sense, although ju
st letting you know that it’s not confirmed.

FNAF 2 Closes
Technicality aside, Fazbear Entertainment decided to close the secon
d Freddy’s because of this incident, scraping the new toy animatronic
s, completely destroying their endos and unwillingly freeing the child
ren’s souls, only keeping their animatronic shells (which we’ll see late
r). Fazbear Entertainment had hopes of reopening some day with a m
uch smaller budget, only keeping the original characters.

Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza (1) Opens

Reopen they did with another Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. Only with th
e main four animatronics, this location was smaller with their corresp
onding budget.

FNAF 1 (Michael)
Michael Afton worked as a nightguard under the alias Mike Schmidt.

But in late 1993, the company was running out of money from their a
lready small budget, and after a year-long search for any buyers, com
panies were unwilling to be associated with Fazbear Entertainment d
ue to its history. This is when the final Freddy’s shut its doors.

FNAF 3 Minigames / Remnant / Circus Baby’s Ent. And Rentals

Opens, RENT ONLY opens
Like Circus Baby’s Entertainment and Rentals (an underground locatio
n founded by none other than the murderer William Afton) opens up
a while after (“The unfortunate closing of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza” - H
andunit), The Funtime Animatronics would be rented out for private
parties during the day, which is why they require a technician to get t
he robots back in proper working order before each following mornin
g.
FNAF: Sister Location (Michael)
The oldest son; Michael Afton, is sent down to this location to “find”
and “put” Elizabeth “back together” from Circus Baby. It is worth poi
nting out that (it’s unsure how or why) but William seems to have full
knowledge of Baby being possessed by his daughter, and with that kn
owledge William begins experimenting with remnant to make the oth
er Funtimes alive. But quickly, if you’re wondering “What is remnan
t?” Well, the simplest answer I can give you is that remnant is the aft
ermath of the souls of the children mixing into the metal, which that
metal is then melted and conserved in a container of some kind, and
later on that liquid is then injected into the animatronics to make the
m become sentient and self-aware. However, if the temperature is to
o high, the remnant is destroyed and its effects are neutralized. Anyw
ays William snuck into the most recent yet now-abandoned Freddy’s
and began dismantling the main four animatronics night after night, s
tealing
