4.0 REPAIRING OF EXCESSIVE OUTER DAMAGE

1. Using a knife cut the cover rubber and floatation materials to the depth of
the damage and removes the unwanted part.

Note:
a. Cut the edges of the cover rubber to be removed at an angle of
approximately 45 to the inside.
b. Round of the four corners of the cover rubber that is to be cut and
removed.

2. Using disc sander or wire brush remove marine algae and sea shell from
the cover rubber in the periphery of damaged portion, buff until a fresh
surface of the cover rubber appears. Remove extraneous substance
adhering to floatation material by using of the wire brush.

3. If the floatation materials have absorbed an excessive amount of

moisture, press a waste cloth against the flotation materials and remove
as much of the moisture as possible.

4. Remove all loose surface contamination and degrease with Belzona®

9111 (Cleaner/Degreaser) or any other effective cleaner which does not
leave a residue, e.g. methyl ethyl ketone (MEK).

5. Apply Belzona 9111 to draw/remove the processing oils and waxes to the
surface of some rubbers, particularly when new, which then impairs
adhesion of Belzona 2211. Test for this on a small area. If, on rubbing with
