There are two sets of teeth (dentition) which
develop within a life-time. The first set of
teeth, called the deciduous or milk teeth,
includes 20 teeth, which erupt between the
ages of 6 months and 36 months. The teeth
in the lower jaw usually erupt earlier than
those in the upper jaw; the first deciduous
teeth to appear are the lower central
incisors. In each quadrant of milk dentition
there are two incisors, one canine and two
molars; the two premolars are missing.
Later the deciduous teeth. are lost and
replaced by the permanent teeth, usually
painlessly and without bleeding. The first
per- manent teeth to erupt are the first
molars at the age of about 6 years. The last
milk teeth, the canines, are usually lost and
replaced in the 12th year.

Istnieją dwa zestawy zębów ("uzębienia"),

Pierwszy zestaw zębów, zwany zębami
mlecznymi, obejmuje 20 zębów, które
