I. OBJECTIVES Annotation
(PPST-RPMS-COT)
A. Content Standards Force that can change the
shape, size, or movement
of objects.
B. Performance The learners demonstrate
Standards conceptual understanding
of properties/
characteristics of light,
heat and sound.
C. Learning Characterize magnetic
Competencies/ force

IV. PROCEDURES Teacher’s Activity Pupil’s Activity
A. Review Previous Use of Game “EAT” OR
Lessons “BULAGA”
Directions: Read and
understand each
statement. Write EAT if
it is correct and
BULAGA if it is not.
1. Force is a push or
pull. EAT
2. Without force, a
moving object
will stop.
BULAGA
3. Without force, an
object at rest will
not move. EAT
4. A force can
change the size
and shape of an
object. EAT
5. Force can cause
an object to
move, stop, or to
change direction.
EAT

B. Establishing Use of ICT

purpose for the Localization and
Lesson Contextualization
Video Presentation

Ask:
1. What was the
video
presentation all
about?
2. What do you
mean by
magnets?
3. What does
magnets do?
C. Presenting Objects Objects
examples/instances attracted not
of the new lessons by the attracted
magnet by the
magnet

Experimental Activity

Directions: Identify the

objects attracted by a
magnet. Gather all the
materials on the table,
place each one of them
near the end of the
magnet. Observe what
happens and record your
observations on the table
below.

Materials:
Magnet, ball pen cap,
bits of paper, can opener,
coins, eraser, nails, sharp
pencil, paper clips, piece
of cloth, plastic spoon,
rubber band, plastic ruler,
thumbtacks, tin can,
copper wire

D. Discussing new Discovery Learning

concepts and Use of Game “What’s
practicing new the Missing Letters?”
skills #1. Free-discussion

M G N T S
Have an invincible
magnetic field. Magnets
will not attract all kinds
of metals. Only objects
made of iron, cobalt and
nickel will be attracted to
magnets.

There are several types

of magnets like ring
magnets, rectangular
magnets, horseshoe
magnets and bar
magnets.

1. Ring Magnet
2. Bar Magnet
3. U-Shaped Magnet
4. Horseshoe Magnet

The ends of the magnets

are called poles. One
pole is called north
pole (N), the other is
south pole (S). A
magnet has always
both north pole and
south pole though you
break it. So, when we cut
a magnet into two parts,
two new magnets are
formed each with a
north pole and a south
pole (magnetic dipole).

If the poles of a magnet

are the same and placed
near each other, then they
will be pushed away or
will repel each other.
Either both south poles
and both north poles will
result to repulsion (like
poles repel).

E. Developing Differentiated Activities

mastery Group Activity

GROUP 1 TEAM
ARTS

Directions: Make a
poster showing what you
have learned from
today’s lesson.

GROUP 2 TEAM
MUSIC
Directions: Compose a
song showing what
you have learned from
today’s lesson.

GROUP 4 TEAM
LITERARY ARTS
Directions: Make a poem
showing what you have
learned from today’s
lesson.

F. Finding practical Use of Game “Complete

application of Me”
concepts and skills Directions: Complete the
in daily living following Science
concepts.
1. A ______ can pull
objects from a distance.
These objects are metal
and are made up of
either ______, ______,
or_____.
2. A magnet comes in
different shapes such as
________, _______, and
_______.
3. A magnet always has
____ poles however you
break it.
4. Two intersecting
magnets will _____ when
two unlike poles are
brought closer together.
While two like poles are
brought closer the
magnets will _____ each
other.
