EXPERIENCE IN USING AI TECHNOLOGY (CHATGPT) IN

ENGLISH WRITING SKILLS FOR SEMESTER 5 STUDENTS OF


CLASS B. MORNING

Abstract
The research titled "Experience in using AI Technology (ChatGPT) in English Writing Skills for 5th Semester of
Class B Morning" aims to explore the effectiveness of using AI technology, specifically ChatGPT, in enhancing
the English writing skills of students in the 5th semester of Class B Morning. The study is conducted by
researchers from the English Language Study Program, Faculty of Language and Art, IKIP PGRI Pontianak.
The research methodology involves a qualitative approach. The study is based on a survey questionnaire, which
is distributed to 25 students in the 5th semester of Class B Morning. The questionnaire consists of 10 questions,
with 5 questions for each of the two main aspects of the study: the use of ChatGPT and the improvement of
English writing skills.The study also includes a focus group discussion with 10 students who have actively used
ChatGPT in their English writing assignments. The focus group discussion aims to gather in-depth insights and
experiences from the students regarding the use of ChatGPT and its impact on their English writing skills.The
research objectives are to:Investigate the extent to which students in the 5th semester of Class B Morning use
ChatGPT in their English writing assignments.Examine the effectiveness of ChatGPT in improving the English
writing skills of students in the 5th semester of Class B Morning.Identify the challenges faced by students in
using ChatGPT for English writing assignments.Suggest recommendations for the use of ChatGPT in English
writing assignments for students in the 5th semester of Class B Morning.The study's findings will contribute to
the existing body of knowledge on the use of AI technology in English language education and provide valuable
insights for educators, students, and policymakers. The research will also help to inform the development of
future studies and initiatives related to the use of AI technology in English language education.

INTRODUCTION
In this day and age of globalization and technological advancement, bilingual
education is becoming more popular and promoting the use of artificial intelligence
(AI) as a cutting-edge educational tool. Class B Morning 5 th-semester students are at a
n essential stage in their studies, where they must considerably enhance their English
writing skills. Experience with AI technology, particularly 5 th-semester chatGPT, can
be an intriguing thing to investigate in the context of improving writing skills.
Artificial intelligence (AI) has a long history in education, with early develop
ments dating back decades. In the 1960s, researchers began to explore the potential of
AI in education, especially in the field of intelligent tutoring systems (ITS). As stated
by Smith (2018), "The arrival of ITS marks a significant milestone in the integration o
f AI in education, as these systems aim to provide personalized instruction and adapt t
o the individual needs of learners." Using ChatGPT as a writing aid provides the possi
bility for students to engage in more personal interactions with technology. By utilizin
g artificial intelligence, students can develop their writing skills through a more respo
nsive and adaptive process. This opens up new opportunities in designing learning str
ategies that suit individual student needs. Experts have recognized the potential of AI i
n education, highlighting its ability to provide support that engages students, and prov
ides appropriate feedback. Dr. Johnson, an expert in educational technology, asserts,
"AI has the potential to change the way we teach language, making it more accessible
and efficient for learners from a variety of backgrounds." Johnson (2019) However, d
espite growing interest in AI applications, there remains a research gap regarding its e
ffectiveness specifically in the context of English language teaching.
Research has explored the impact of interactions with virtual tutors and AI-bas
ed chatbots on language learning outcomes. Chen et al. (2021) found that learners wh
o interacted with virtual tutors and chatbots showed significant improvements in spea
king ability, fluency, and confidence in using English. This AI-based conversational a
gent provides learners with the opportunity to practice language authentically and rece
ive immediate feedback, which contributes to their communicative competence. The u
se of AI-based speech recognition systems has been researched to determine their effe
ctiveness in improving learners' pronunciation abilities. Liu and Kong (2019) highligh
ted that learners who used speech recognition technology showed significant improve
ments in their pronunciation accuracy and fluency. The real-time feedback provided b
y the AI system allows learners to identify and correct their pronunciation errors, resul
ting in more accurate and clear English pronunciation.
The importance of understanding students' experiences in using ChatGPT to i
mprove their English writing skills lies in its potential to create learning that is more f
ocused on the needs and ability levels of each student. In the context of class B morni
ng semester 5, it is hoped that the use of this technology can have a positive impact on
student learning outcomes and increase time efficiency in developing their writing skil
ls. AI technology such as ChatGPT also gives students access to broader and more up-
to-date learning resources. By utilizing artificial intelligence, students can receive inst
ant feedback and suggestions that can help them understand certain aspects of English
writing. This can increase the effectiveness of learning and speed up the process of un
derstanding the principles of good writing.
In addition, students' experiences in using ChatGPT can also provide insight in
to the obstacles and challenges they may face in adopting this technology. Factors suc
h as comfort level, technical understanding, and level of trust in technology can influe
nce the extent to which students can integrate ChatGPT in their English learning.
In this perspective, this research will explore how 5th semester students of clas
s B morning experience and respond to the use of ChatGPT technology to improve the
ir English writing skills. By understanding this experience, we can open the door to th
e development of more contextual learning strategies and support students' success in
mastering English writing skills at advanced levels of study.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
A. Research Methodology
This research uses a qualitative ethnographic approach. According to Dedi Irwan
(2023) in his book, ethnographic research is a type of research that aims to describe a
phenomenon that is used as an object of study related to social and cultural sciences
(Anthropology). In this study we used an observational research design. Observational
research design is a research design that involves observing and analyzing results
without intervention or manipulation by the researcher. To obtain more significant
data by using qualitative studies as stated by Abd. Hadi (2021) qualitative studies
intend to understand the phenomena experienced by research subjects, for example
perceptions, motivations, actions, etc., by means of descriptions. in the form of words
and language in a special natural context by utilizing various natural methods. From
the opinions of the experts above, it can be concluded that ethnographic research is a
useful initial approach for collecting information.

B. Data Collection
1. Experiment
An experiment in research is a procedure carried out to support or refute a hypot
hesis, determine the efficacy or likelihood of something previously untried, or exa
mine the validity of a hypothesis. Experiments are conducted with a scientific app
roach, using two sets of variables: one set acts as a constant to measure the differe
nces of the second set. There are three primary types of experimental design: pre-e
xperimental, true experimental, and quasi-experimental.
Key elements of an experiment include:
1. Manipulation: Something is purposefully changed by the researcher in th
e environment
2. Control: Used to prevent outside factors from influencing the study outc

the population to ensure representativeness.

itative, providing researchers with detailed information about the participants. The

According to (Dr.R.A.Fadhallah, 2021) an interview is communication between
two or more parties which can be carried out face to face where one party acts as a
n interviewer and the other party acts as an interviewer with the aim of obtaining i
nformation or collecting data. The interviews we conducted used open-ended ques
tionsso that researchers found out about their experiences after using ChatGPT.
Interviews regarding the experiences of 5th-semester students in class B Morning
were conducted after the completion of the announced questionnaire. The intervie
ws described are conducted periodically by researchers who have a clear understa
nding of the information they seek from research subjects.

3. Techniques Sampling
In this research, the sampling technique used by the research team was typical
case. Where according to Dedi Irwan (2023) the sample was selected from values
with characteristics possessed by the average person in the group being studied.
The object of this research is 5th-semester B.Morning Class students who have
experience in using AI in writing skills to create essays.

4. Population
The research focused on participants who were 5th-semester students,
especially those taking part in the English language education program at IKIP
PGRI Pontianak. By narrowing the scope of the research, the aim is to obtain data
regarding their experiences in using chatGPT as a tool to assist in writing skills.

5. Sample/Participants
The participants in this study were students from class B.Morning enrolled in
the English Language Education program at IKIP PGRI Pontianak.

6. Instrument
In this study, we used narrative analysis. According to Riessman (2008),
narrative analysis is defined as an approach that examines how individual stories
reflect their experiences and how these stories help form identity.

FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION

A. Experiment Result
Experiments in changing sentence structures in texts have brought about signific
ant transformations, resulting in more dynamic and direct narratives. In the section
"MY ROOM," there is a shift from the passive sentence "Whenever I am tired, wo
rn out, or angry, my room witnesses everything" to a more direct active sentence,
"My room bears witness to moments of fatigue, weariness, and even anger." This
shift brings more clarity and intensity to the experience in the room.
In the section "MEATBALLS," the change from the passive sentence "Meatball
s are usually served in various shapes" to the active sentence "The presentation of
meatballs varies" changes the focus from general characteristics to concrete action
s. This transformation gives new life to culinary descriptions, emphasizing the var
iety and action involved in serving the meatballs.

cipated." This change not only gives liveliness to the sentence, but also increases t

English for speakers of other languages). English as a second language also refers to
a special approach to language teaching designed for those whose primary language
is not English.

In some countries, English has become a second language for society, because the
role of English as an International communication language is very important for
various sectors. And Indonesia is one of countries that now uses English as a second
language. Although not all Indonesian people are good at speaking English.
Indonesia as a historic country and has cultural diversity, making Indonesia one of
the destinations for foreigh tourists.

Five participants were interviewed after distribution of the questionnaire asking
questions about this research. From interviews, data was collected. The general
finding was that each interviewee explored their own opinions regarding their
experiences in using ChatGPT. To make the interview process easier, we used
Indonesian during the interview.

Researcher's Interpretation:

A. What is your experience with the use of ChatGPT in a writing context . ?


a. HELP

The experience of using ChatGPT in a writing context can be seen from the
responses of respondents 1, 3 and 5, who consistently stated that they felt helped
by the existence of ChatGPT. This response includes aspects of assistance in
correcting written results as well as getting inspiration for writing. Respondents
stated that ChatGPT made a positive contribution in improving the quality of their
writing and provided new ideas that could be applied in the writing process. Thus,
the research results show that the use of ChatGPT has a positive impact in helping
users optimize their writing results and stimulate creativity and ideation.

b. KNOW MORE

The experience of using ChatGPT in a writing context is reflected in the


response of respondent 2, who indicated a significant increase in knowledge
while using ChatGPT. Respondents said that the success of this AI in responding
to user commands, as well as its ability to improve the quality of writing
according to standards, had a positive impact on the writing experience, quoted
from the respondent "My experience is that I know more that this AI can answer
what is ordered and make Our writing becomes better and more in line with our
understanding. “ . In the context of this research, the results of respondents'
responses provide a deeper understanding regarding ChatGPT's ability to support
the writing process, strengthening the perception that this technology can be an
effective tool for improving the quality of writing in accordance with established
needs and standards.

c. ANSWER REFERENCE

Based on the experience expressed by Respondent 4 in the context of using


ChatGPT in writing activities, it appears that the respondent adopted a certain
approach to using ChatGPT. Respondents stated that ChatGPT was used mainly
when dealing with questions that were considered difficult and required
comprehensive references. In answering questions that require clarity and
scientific depth, ChatGPT is considered a reference source that can provide
clarification and complete information. The respondent explained, "My
experience while using ChatGPT was only to answer several questions which I
thought were difficult to answer completely and scientifically. So sometimes I use
ChatGPT as my reference in answering to make it clearer and more complete."

This approach reflects ChatGPT's role as a tool in supporting the


understanding and presentation of more detailed information, especially in
situations where complete and scientific answers are required. Even though
ChatGPT is used selectively , respondents emphasized that the presence of this
technology helps in increasing the accuracy and completeness of the answers
given. Thus, the use of ChatGPT can be seen as a strategy implemented by
respondents to enrich written content and answer complex questions.

B. In your opinion, what benefits can result from the integration of ChatGPT technology
in learning to write ?
a. FINDING OUT
In the first respondent's view, the integration of ChatGPT technology in the
writing learning process is considered to bring significant benefits. Respondents
emphasized that ChatGPT acts as an effective tool in improving understanding of
grammar and word choice. The use of this technology allows students to quickly
and easily search for information related to correct grammar and appropriate
word choice. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of ChatGPT in learning
to write can be a valuable resource, helping to improve fundamental linguistic
aspects and facilitating the efficient development of writing skills.

b. FIX

Based on the opinion of respondent 2 in this research, it was revealed that


integrating ChatGPT technology has significant benefits in the writing learning
process. Respondents stated that ChatGPT can effectively assist in improving
writing according to certain standards, providing clear direction regarding aspects
that need to be improved. Meanwhile, respondent 3 emphasized that ChatGPT
plays an important role in improving vocabulary and grammar, providing
contributions in the form of new ideas and suggestions. Apart from that,
respondents also noted that using ChatGPT improved writing skills and was able
to hone thinking abilities. Thus, the integration of ChatGPT technology can be
considered an effective tool in facilitating the writing learning process by
providing specific guidance, supporting vocabulary development, and stimulating
creativity and thinking skills in students.

C. What difference do you feel in your writing results since using ChatGPT?
a. DIFFERENCE

In looking at the differences in writing results since using ChatGPT, this


variable was obtained from the answers of respondents 1 and 3. These two
respondents stated that they felt a significant difference in their writing results
after using ChatGPT. However, there are differences in views between the two
regarding the final quality of the essays they submit to ChatGPT. Respondent 1
stated that the final result of his writing looked a bit stiff, indicating perhaps
stiffness or a lack of flexibility in expression. Meanwhile, respondent 3 thought
that the final result was almost perfect, indicating a high level of satisfaction with
the results produced by ChatGPT. These differences suggest that perceptions of
the quality of writing output using ChatGPT may vary across individuals, and
factors such as writing style preferences and expectations may play a role in their
evaluation of the results produced by this model.

b. CHANGE

This variable was obtained from respondent 2's response regarding the
difference he felt in his writing results after using ChatGPT. According to the
respondent, there was a significant change in the quality of his writing, where he
stated, "Of course I have experienced a lot of changes. My writing can be easily
improved by this AI." This statement reflects that the use of ChatGPT positively
influences respondents' ability to improve the quality of their writing. The main
advantage felt was the ease of making improvements to writing, indicating
ChatGPT's positive contribution in supporting and improving respondents'
writing skills.

D. What do you think about the risks of relying on ChatGPT technology in developing h
uman writing abilities ?
a. LESS

Based on the views of the first respondent in this study, it was revealed that he
saw a risk in relying on ChatGPT technology to develop human writing abilities.
This opinion was expressed by detailing that, according to respondents, ChatGPT
had shortcomings in terms of grammar which seemed very rigid. This insight
highlights concerns about aspects of rigidity in the language structure produced
by ChatGPT, which could potentially limit creativity and flexibility in human
writing abilities. Therefore, this view reflects concern over the possible limited
development of human writing skills if relying solely on ChatGPT technology,
indicating the need for a holistic approach in its use to minimize such risks.

b. DEVELOP

The second respondent's opinion regarding the development of ChatGPT

human writing abilities. Respondents stated that ChatGPT could contribute to
developing writing skills, especially through providing suggestions and ideas that
could enrich writing. Apart from that, ChatGPT is also considered capable of
helping improve vocabulary and grammar in writing, so that writing becomes
more coherent and interesting. This positive assessment reflects the perception
that ChatGPT is not only a tool for finding ideas, but also a means for improving
formal aspects of writing , such as word choice and sentence structure. However,
it should be noted that in developing writing skills using ChatGPT technology,
there are risks associated with excessive dependence and lack of development of
personal creativity. Therefore, further research needs to be carried out to fully
understand the impact of using this technology on the development of human
writing abilities.

c. GIVEN MANY IDEAS

The third respondent's opinion regarding the risks of using ChatGPT


technology in developing human writing skills shows a positive view of the
contribution of this technology. Respondents stated that using ChatGPT had a
positive impact by providing an abundance of ideas and helping in the preparation
of good grammar. In his quote, the respondent stated, "I was given lots of ideas
and of course I got lessons in writing well and organizing good grammar." This
statement illustrates that the experience of using ChatGPT not only provides
creative inspiration in writing but also provides learning related to grammatical
aspects. While this positive outlook reflects the positive potential of technology in
improving writing skills, it is also necessary to consider potential risks, such as
over-reliance on technology and the possibility of losing aspects of uniqueness
and originality in human writing.

E. What challenges did you experience while using GPT chat to write your essay?
a. NOT ACCURATE

In using GPT Chat to write essays, several challenges emerged based on the
experiences of the first respondents. Inaccurate statements were one of the
problems identified by respondents, who believed that Chat GPT sometimes
provided information that was not completely accurate. This challenge is
considered to have the potential to affect the quality of essay writing, considering
that the accuracy of information plays an important role in forming arguments
and essay content. Therefore, it is found that Chat GPT's ability to provide
accurate information is a matter of concern, and authors or users need to be alert
to possible inaccuracies in the information sources provided by this language
model.

b. INCONSISTENT

Two respondents, namely respondents 2 and 3, identified similar challenges in


using GPT chat to compose essays. Both highlighted the inconsistency of the
answers provided by Chat GPT. However, they agree that this obstacle can be
overcome by providing more specific and clear commands or keywords. For
example, respondent 2 stated, "As for the challenge, sometimes CHAT GPT is
inconsistent with the answers, but that depends on the commands we give to
CHAT GPT. we must give commands that are correct and understandable." This
statement shows awareness of the role of appropriate instructions in obtaining
consistent and accurate responses from Chat GPT. Therefore, in utilizing this
technology, providing clear and specific guidance to Chat GPT can increase the
consistency and relevance of the answers produced.

F. Do you still want to use chatgpt beyond this experiment?


a. CONTINUING TO USE

Based on the results of interviews given to respondents 1, 2, and 3, 4, it can be


concluded that the majority of respondents expressed a desire to continue using
GPT Chat after completing this experiment. Some respondents thought they
would use Chat GPT for ideas, while others saw the potential for wider use, not
just limited to writing, but also for other commands. However, there is an opinion
that even though they will continue to use Chat GPT, respondents also feel the
need to utilize help from other sources such as journals and websites. This can be
seen from the statement of respondent 3 who said, "Maybe I will continue to use
it, but I also need help from other sites or other journals too." Thus, the research
results show a tendency to continue to utilize GPT Chat, but with the
understanding that additional information sources are also needed to support their
knowledge needs.
b. USED IN TIME

The survey results show that the 5th respondent made the decision not to use
ChatGPT regularly, but only under certain conditions, especially when facing
urgent situations. The reason is the lack of understanding that still occurs in using
ChatGPT, considering that we are still new to this platform. Respondents stated
that to develop certain ideas or tasks, preference is given to more independent
methods. However, he indicated the possibility of using ChatGPT in situations
where ideas are difficult to find or when time is very limited. This explanation
illustrates that initial experience with ChatGPT still requires further
understanding, but respondents remain open to the possibility of using it when
needed in certain situations.

G. In your opinion, is learning using the GPT chat method effective or not?
a. INEFFECTIVE

Based on the results of interviews that have been conducted, there are various
views regarding the effectiveness of learning methods using GPT chat.
Respondents 1 and 5 expressed concerns about the accuracy and dependability
that may arise from using GPT chat. According to respondent 1, he thinks that
GPT chat is sometimes inaccurate and has clumsy grammar. A similar opinion
was expressed by the 5th respondent, who was of the opinion that GPT chat tends
to make users lazy because of the tendency to copy-paste without deep
understanding. Both respondents agreed that GPT chat is omniscient, which can
cause dependency and hinder the initiative to formulate one's own thoughts.
Therefore, they argue that this method is less effective and even tends to be
addictive. The results of these interviews provide important insights regarding the
expanded use of GPT chat in learning contexts, highlighting the need to consider
the balance between student dependability and creativity.

b. EFFECTIVE ENOUGH

According to the responses of respondents 2 and 3, using the GPT Chat


method is considered quite effective in the learning process, especially in
completing essays or other types of writing, depending on the goal. As stated by
the 2nd respondent, he stated, "Learning using the Chat GPT method can be
effective depending on the learning objectives and how the user uses it. In the
context of writing it is also effective if we give clear instructions." This
emphasizes the importance of formulating specific commands in utilizing GPT
Chat to achieve the desired results.

Meanwhile, the 3rd respondent expressed a similar opinion, stating that the use
of Chat GPT is quite effective because it is an artificial intelligence that provides
significant assistance in completing essays or writing. The emphasis on Chat
GPT's ability to provide support in a variety of contexts demonstrates its
flexibility in helping users achieve diverse writing or learning goals. Thus, the
results of the responses from the two respondents indicate that the use of the Chat
GPT method can be considered effective, especially if it is used with clear
instructions and in accordance with the desired learning or writing objectives.

c. EFFECTIVE

According to the 4th respondent, the use of learning methods using chatGPT is
considered effective in simplifying the analysis process and answering questions.
However, this assessment cannot be separated from the view that each learning
approach has advantages and disadvantages. In the context of using chatGPT, the
availability of accessibility to analyze and respond to questions is considered a
positive value.

However, it should be noted that there is a tendency to rely excessively on


chatGPT , which can result in a lack of independence in the learning process. In
other words , although chatGPT can be a very useful tool, it is important to be
careful that it does not become a substitute for independent learning skills.

H. How do you think you can improve the learning method using GPT chat to make it be
tter ?
a. NOT ACCURATE

In the 1st respondent's assessment of the use of GPT chat in learning, he stated
that the learning method using GPT chat may have reached a sufficient level of
goodness. However, he stressed the importance of not relying too exclusively on
answers generated by GPT chat, because they are not necessarily all correct or
accurate. This emphasis reflects the care required in integrating GPT chat
technology in learning contexts, where accuracy of information remains a key
factor. Thus, further evaluation of the reliability of the answers produced by GPT
chat and its wise application needs to be considered in designing better learning
methods.

b. IMPROVE QUALITY

In order to improve learning methods using GPT chat, the response from the
2nd respondent highlights two important aspects that can be optimized. First, it is
necessary to improve the quality of the artificial intelligence (AI) models used.
This aims to ensure that the suggestions and ideas presented by GPT chat are
more relevant and accurate, so that they can make a substantial contribution to the
learning process. Furthermore, the addition of interactive features such as quizzes
and writing exercises is considered a significant step to strengthen learning. This
feature not only increases user engagement, but also provides opportunities for
practical application and testing understanding of the material, thereby deepening
understanding of concepts. By combining improvements in the quality of AI
models and the addition of interactive features, it is hoped that learning methods
using GPT chat can be more effective, efficient and have a positive impact on the
user's learning experience.

c. MORE CONSISTENT

the 3rd respondent , there is hope to increase the consistency and


understanding of the GPT Chat regarding the commands given. It is hoped that
GPT Chat can provide more consistent responses and have a deeper
understanding of the commands received. Apart from that, respondents also
wanted Chat GPT's ability to provide writing examples that were more relevant
and appropriate to the context. The addition of this feature is expected to provide
more concrete guidance and help in understanding the practical application of the
information provided by Chat GPT. Thus, this update can increase the
effectiveness of Chat GPT as a learning aid .

d. ENOUGH
In response to the question about how to improve the learning method using
GPT chat to make it better, respondent 4 expressed several views. First, he
considers that using the learning method with GPT chat is quite good, however,
as artificial intelligence, there are challenges in the consistency of answers.
According to him, these limitations may hinder the integration of GPT chat in
daily learning at school. Furthermore, respondents highlighted the positive
contribution of GPT chat in providing ideas and themes, with its ability to provide
responses after being given commands. He conveyed this in line with the views of
other respondents who also emphasized GPT chat's ability to provide ideas.
Finally, respondents noted that the use of GPT chat also brought changes with the
new vocabulary they discovered. Thus, while acknowledging the advantages of
GPT chat in providing ideas, respondents also recognized several challenges that
need to be overcome to optimize its use in learning contexts.

e. PROVIDING A CLEAR TOPIC

The 5th respondent expressed a desire to understand whether Chat GPT could
be used sustainably in learning, for example in a lecture context, to develop
written creativity or check grammar. Although it acknowledged limitations, such
as a bit of clumsiness, respondents saw the potential of GPT Chat in providing
creative ideas. However, there is a need for further understanding of how GPT
Chat works, especially for those who are new to this technology. Respondents
also looked at the development aspect and saw the need to provide guidance or
topics to Chat GPT to get ideas, with the recognition that understanding of the use
of Chat GPT was still limited and required further exploration.

C. Conclusion
From the results of this research, it can be concluded that using ChatGPT in a
writing context has a positive impact on respondents. Most respondents found
ChatGPT helpful in improving their writing and getting new inspiration. Even though
there are differences in perception regarding the final writing results produced by
ChatGPT, the majority of respondents see that this technology can make a positive
contribution in improving the quality of writing and stimulating creativity and
ideation.
When discussing the integration of ChatGPT technology in learning to write,
respondents stated several significant benefits. Using ChatGPT is considered to help
in understanding grammar and choosing the right words. This technology is also
recognized as providing clear guidance, supporting vocabulary development, and
stimulating creative thinking skills. Despite these positive views, it is worth noting
that some respondents also highlighted the potential risks associated with over-
reliance on these technologies, which could hinder the development of individual
creativity.

Perceptions of differences in writing results since using ChatGPT varied between


respondents, indicating that evaluations of the quality of ChatGPT output can be
influenced by individual writing style preferences and expectations. Additionally,
most respondents expressed a desire to continue using ChatGPT after the experiment,
although with the understanding that this technology should be used as an additional
tool and not as a replacement for other sources of information. Some respondents also
identified challenges during use, such as inaccurate answers and inconsistencies, that
could be addressed by providing ChatGPT with more specific guidance. In
conclusion, while ChatGPT can be considered effective in supporting writing
learning, care needs to be taken to ensure that its use remains balanced and does not
hinder the development of individual writing skills and creativity.
