4 Thu, 30th Nov 2023 8:30-11:30 Unimib U3-03

• Attendance is not mandatory (but highly suggested): at least 3 out of 4 lessons (75%) to carry out
the project in groups
• Students who cannot attend or want to take the final exam without attending lessons should
contact francesco.zanatta@unipv.it to carry out the project individually by the 30th Nov 2023

GUIDED PRACTICAL WORK

• The project will be carried out in groups composed of max. 3-4 students.
• During the practical part of the module, you will work collaboratively with teammates on
your group project while receiving feedback from the teacher
• The ultimate result is a presentation (.ppt or .pdf). While the project is a collaborative effort,
each student’s evaluation will be based on their individual performance and contribution.
• Therefore, it is crucial to clarify and justify one's personal contributions to the group project

FINAL PROJECT
• Aim: To propose an example of a real-world Human-System Interaction (HSI) case,
including an evaluation of at least one of the human factors presented during the theoretical
lectures
Therefore, starting from a real-world human-system interaction (HSI) case, you will have to
identify case-related issues by describing the human factors implied, and propose an
evaluation of them (please use the .ppt file Template uploaded on Kiro platform).
Specifically, you will have to:
1. Imagine a HSI real-world case (describe the scenario and identify the users, needs, and goals)
2. Identify and describe the human factors implied in the HSI case proposed
3. Propose an evaluation of the human factors implied through selected measures/tools

2023/2024 4
PROJECT PRESENTATION - EXAM
• The project will be presented individually at the oral exam (max. 12 points) - mandatory
• Additional points (from 1 to 3): for those who will present a written report of the project (max 3
pages) – optional
• Additional points (from 1 to 5): for those who will present a written report (with integration)
and who did not attend the theoretical lectures or the final exercise on affective computing at
last class (max 5 pages) - optional

2023/2024 5
PROJECT TEMPLATE
1) Real-world HSI case 3) Evaluation
• Identity and describe the tool(s)
• Describe the scenario
adopted to evaluate the Human Factors
• Identify the User(s), Need(s), and • Provide a detailed description of a
Goal(s) possible setup and task(s) to collect
data
2) Human Factors 4) Output
• Identify and describe the Human • Expected findings
• Practical implications
Factors implied

5) Discussion
Integration • Identify and discuss the limitations of the case presented
(for those who did not attend) • Make comparisons of the expected findings with prior
literature (systematic review, case-studies)
