appropriate tone, speed and gestures to convey messages effectively. In addition, listening well
and empathizing with the interlocutor are also important factors in verbal communication. Details
of verbal communication skills are:
o Language: Verbal communication uses words and grammar to convey meaning. Accuracy in word usage and grammar
helps convey messages clearly and effectively. Additionally, using language appropriate to your audience, including
technical language, style, and terminology, is also important in understanding and being understood.
o Tone and intonation: Expression through tone and intonation can change the meaning of a sentence. Adjusting the tone,
tempo, rate of speech and tone in speech can create emphasis, convey emotion and appeal to the listener. Flexibility in
tone and intonation also helps create closeness and positive interaction during communication.
o Gestures and expressions: Besides spoken language, gestures and facial expressions also help add information and
meaning to speech. Gestures and facial expressions, such as moving hands, winking, smiling or frowning, can express
emotion, respect and explore other nonverbal elements.
o Listening: An important part of verbal communication is the ability to listen. Good listening skills require concentration
and understanding of the meaning being conveyed. Listening sincerely and without interruption helps create a positive

2.3. Demonstrate the use of different problem-solving techniques in the design and delivery of an event. (P3)
2.3.1. The definition of problem-solving skills
• Problem-solving skills help you solve issues quickly and effectively. It's one of the key skills that employers seek in job
applicants, as employees with these skills tend to be self-reliant. Problem-solving skills require quickly identifying the
underlying issue and implementing a solution.
• Problem-solving is considered a soft skill (a personal strength) rather than a hard skill that's learned through education or
training. You can improve your problem-solving skills by familiarizing yourself with common issues in your industry and
learning from more experienced employees. (problem-solving-skills, 2020)

2.4. Demonstrate that critical reasoning has been applied to the design and delivery of the event. (P4)
2.4.1. Definition and the importance of critical reasoning.
• Critical thinking refers to the ability to conceptualize, apply, analyze, synthesize, and evaluate information accurately until a
valuable answer or solution is reached.
• It is the intellectual ability and skillful way of thinking that allows a person to reason further or deeper - than the average
person - with clarity and relevance, precision and accuracy through depth and breadth with valid evidence, just and fair
reasons. It is often based on evidence and logical reasoning.
• Critical thinking is more than simply gathering and retaining information; it processes and searches information more
carefully and ambitiously. Additionally, it is not simply about the acquisition of skills but also focuses on the continuous or
consistent use of the skills acquired. (critical-thinking)
• The Significance of Critical Thinking:
• Uncover the Truth:
o Critical thinking facilitates the exploration and deeper comprehension of truth. By posing questions,
considering diverse perspectives, and scrutinizing evidence, it guides us towards a more accurate
understanding of reality.
• Evaluate Information:
o In an era inundated with information, critical thinking empowers us to assess the accuracy and reliability of
the information we encounter. It acts as a safeguard against the dissemination of false or unsubstantiated data.
• Nurture Logical Thinking:
o Critical thinking nurtures logical reasoning and encourages the examination of multiple viewpoints. It requires
us to deduce, analyze, and construct arguments based on evidence and sound reasoning.
• Enhance Problem-Solving Proficiency:
o Critical thinking equips us with the ability to devise innovative solutions to intricate problems. By adopting a
multidimensional perspective and challenging established beliefs, we can unearth novel approaches to
problem-solving.
• Formulate Personal Beliefs:
o Critical thinking empowers us to construct our own opinions freely, grounded in information and well-
founded arguments. It promotes self-reflection and fosters independent thinking.
• Elevate Communication:
o Proficiency in critical thinking serves as a pivotal element in effective communication. It enables us to
articulate our viewpoints more clearly, logically, and persuasively in our everyday lives, professional
endeavors, and interpersonal relationships.
• Besides, we will also have some advantages and disadvantages of critical theory

various viewpoints to reach a consensus
Insufficient data sharing among team members Ensure comprehensive and detailed data sharing, and create
specific reports to enhance information exchange
• Elaboration on Problem Solutions:
o Lack of Effective Communication: Maintain regular meetings to provide updates on work progress and share
information. Leverage modern communication tools like email, text messaging, and video calls to facilitate
ongoing communication and create an open atmosphere among team members.
o Loss of Orientation: Effectively manage work by establishing clear objectives, equitably distributing tasks,
utilizing tools such as Gantt charts or scheduling charts to monitor progress, and unambiguously defining
team members' roles and responsibilities.
o Conflict and Tension: Harness the power of constructive criticism to assess varying perspectives and find
collaborative solutions. Foster an environment of mutual respect and attentive listening to each team
member's viewpoints. If necessary, conduct individual meetings to resolve conflicts and reach amicable
resolutions.
o Lack of Consensus:Encourage open discussions and active participation among team members, employing
techniques like voting or persuasion to achieve consensus. If consensus remains elusive, explore alternative
solutions.
o Incomplete Information Sharing: Cultivate a productive team environment by ensuring all members have
access to essential information. Promote open information sharing and employ online document-sharing tools
for accessibility. Encourage flexibility, collaboration, and critical thinking to assess problems and identify
solutions within the team dynamic.
III. Conclusion
Through the aforementioned project, we've gained insights into fundamental concepts of various communication types, their respective
advantages and limitations, and their significance in daily life. Additionally, this project underscores the multifaceted skill set required to address
complex challenges effectively.
For instance, in the project focusing on orchestrating a training event aimed at enhancing programmers' competencies, it's evident that this
endeavor demands a broad spectrum of skills. Beyond technical knowledge, it encompasses a range of soft skills. These include meticulous
event planning, time management, contingency planning for unforeseen issues, and financial budgeting.
To successfully execute such an event, team collaboration skills are indispensable. Our group was tasked with dividing responsibilities among
members, fostering open debates, constructive criticism, and ultimately arriving at well-informed decisions. Regular group meetings were
convened to forge a consensus on the most effective approach for a seamless and successful event.

each other better, leading to more effective and productive collaboration. Nearly every team member has sharpened their soft skills,
including communication, problem-solving, and handling criticism.
While it's natural to encounter disagreements and differing viewpoints during idea sessions and debates, our team handled these
situations with maturity. We actively listened to each other, understood different perspectives, and were open to expressing our thoughts
and considering opposing viewpoints. By fostering a culture of open-mindedness and respect, we were able to resolve conflicts and reach
a consensus on the best course of action.
This collaborative approach not only strengthened our team's cohesion but also enriched the quality of our final report. It reflects a well-
rounded perspective that takes into account diverse viewpoints and is a testament to our collective success.
