Ants never quit

Put your finger in an ant’s path and it will try and go around it or over it.
It will keep looking for a way out
It wont just stand there and stare
It wont give up and go back
You should all learn to be like that
There will always be obstacles in our life
The challenge is to keep trying, keep looking for alternative routes to get to our goals.
Ants think winter all summer
Ants know that summer the good times won’t last forever.
Winter will come
That’s a good lesson to remember.
When the going is good, don’t be so arrogant as to believe that a crisis or a setback can not happen to you
Look ahead and remember
Good times may not last but good people do.
Ants think summer all winter
Ants keep reminding themselves that it won’t last forever either,
And that summer will soon be here
Good times will again be here
When we go through what looks like a never-ending crisis, it’s good
to remind ourselves that this too shall pass.
Good times will come.
As the old saying goes,
Tough times don’t last. Tough people do.
Ants do all they possibly can
If you look around you,
You ‘ll find that successful people are those
who just do all they possibly can
Do all you can!
One ant doesn’t worry about how much food another ant is collecting
Ants just do their bit.
So be like an ant!
Don’t quit!
Look ahead
Stay positive
And do all that you can

A. TỪ CÓ HAI ÂM TIẾT
1. Động từ và tính từ:
*** Nếu âm tiết thứ hai là một âm tiết mạnh (có chứa một nguyên âm dài, nguyên âm đôi, hoặc một
nguyên âm và một hay nhiều phụ âm) thì trọng âm thường nằm ở âm tiết thứ hai:
Verbs: believe /bɪˈliːv/, arrive /əˈraɪv/, attract /əˈtrækt/
Adjectives: unique /juˈniːk/, divine /dɪˈvaɪn/, intact /ɪnˈtækt/
*** Nếu âm tiết thứ hai là một âm tiết yếu (có chứa những âm như /ə/, /ɪ/, ……) thì trọng âm thường
nằm ở âm tiết thứ nhất:
Verbs: enter /ˈentə(r)/, envy /ˈenvi/
Adjectives: handsome /ˈhænsəm/, lazy /ˈleɪzi/
2. Danh từ:
- Nếu âm tiết thứ hai có chứa một nguyên âm ngắn (/ə/, /ɪ/, /ʊ/, /ɒ/, /æ/, /ʌ/ và /e/) thì trọng âm thường
nằm ở âm tiết thứ nhất:
Ví dụ: money /ˈmʌni/, product /ˈprɒdʌkt/,
- Nếu âm tiết thứ hai là một nguyên âm dài hay một nguyên âm đôi (như /aɪ/, /ɔː/, /eɪ/, …) thì trọng âm
thường nằm ở âm tiết thứ hai: (Nguyên âm dài là nguyên âm có hai dấu chấm “:” ở cạnh, còn nguyên
âm đôi là nguyên âm kết hợp từ 2 nguyên âm đơn)
Ví dụ: machine /məˈʃiːn/, balloon /bəˈluːn/

B. TỪ CÓ BA ÂM TIẾT
+ Từ ba âm tiết thường có trọng âm ở âm tiết thứ nhất
Ví dụ: cinema /ˈsɪnəmə/, calendar /ˈkælɪndə(r)/ ….
+ Tiền tố thường không làm ảnh hưởng tới trọng âm của từ (Lưu ý: tiền tố là thành phần đứng trước của
1 từ gốc, ví dụ: từ gốc happy (vui vẻ), thêm tiền tố ‘un’ thành unhappy (không vui).
Ví dụ: abnormal /æbˈnɔːml/, empower /ɪmˈpaʊə(r)/, disconnect /ˌdɪsəˈpruːv/ ……..

C. TỪ CÓ BỐN HOẶC TRÊN BỐN ÂM TIẾT

+ Từ có bốn hoặc trên bốn âm tiết thường có trọng âm ở âm tiết thứ nhất (nếu không có những hậu tố
đặc biệt được nêu ở các quy tắc sẽ được đề cập phía sau
Ví du: necessary /ˈnesəsəri/, difficulty /ˈdɪfɪkəlti/, ……
+ Tiền tố hay hậu tố cũng thường không ảnh làm ảnh hưởng tới trọng âm của từ có 4 hoặc tren 4 âm tiết.
Ví dụ: questionable /ˈkwestʃənəbl/, unhappiness /ʌnˈhæpinəs/, ……
Một số lưu ý về trọng âm của những từ có hậu tố đặc biệt
Những từ có các hậu tố sau đây thường có trọng âm ở âm tiết thứ ba từ dưới lên
- ous: adventurous /ədˈventʃərəs/, unanimous /juˈnænɪməs/, ……..
Ngoại lệ: enormous /ɪˈnɔːməs/, tremendous /trəˈmendəs/, ……
- tude: latitude /ˈlætɪtjuːd/, attitude /ˈætɪtjuːd/, ……..
- ate: exaggerate /ɪɡˈzædʒəreɪt/, allocate /ˈæləkeɪt/, …….
- ize/ise: modernise /ˈmɒdənaɪz/, revolutionise /ˌrevəˈluːʃənaɪz/, ……….
- fy: disqualify /dɪsˈkwɒlɪfaɪ/, satisfy /ˈsætɪsfaɪ/, ……..

- ia: Asia /ˈeɪʒə/; - ial: commercial /kəˈmɜːʃl/; - ian: electrician /ɪˌlekˈtrɪʃn/; - iance: luxuriance
/lʌɡˈʒʊəriəns/; - iar: familiar /fəˈmɪliə(r)/; - ical: electrical /ɪˈlektrɪkl/; icant: significant /sɪɡˈnɪfɪkənt/;
- ience (cy): impatience /ɪmˈpeɪʃns/; -ient: obedient /əˈbiːdiənt/; - ion: criterion /kraɪˈtɪəriən/; - ior:

Những từ được tạo thành bởi hai gốc từ, trọng âm thường rơi vào gốc đầu:
Ví dụ: homework /ˈhəʊmwɜːk/, schoolboy /ˈskuːlbɔɪ/, raincoat /ˈreɪnkəʊt/, …….
Tính từ ghép thường có trọng âm chính nhấn vào từ thứ 1, nhưng nếu tính từ ghép mà từ đầu tiên
là tính từ hay trạng từ (Adjective or adverb) hoặc kết thúc bằng đuôi - ED thì trọng âm chính lại
nhấn ở từ thứ 2 .
home – sick /ˈhəʊmsɪk/, praiseworthy /ˈpreɪzwɜːði/, water- proof /ˈwɔːtəpruːf/
Nhưng:
• bad- temper /ˌbæd ˈtempəd/
• well- done /ˌwel ˈdʌn/
