I. OBJECTIVES At the end of the class session, learners should be able to:
a. Identify the structure of informative writing.
b. Construct an informative writing.
c. Value the importance of informative writing.
A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of: East Asian literature
as an art form inspired and influenced by nature; relationship of
visual, sensory, and verbal signals in both literary and expository
texts; strategies in listening to long descriptive and narrative texts;
value of literary and figurative language; and appropriate
grammatical signals or expressions suitable to patterns of idea
development.
B. Performance Standards The learner skillfully delivers a speech for a special occasion
through utilizing effective verbal and non-verbal strategies and
ICT resources.

Informative essay
is written to inform the reader. It is sometimes called an
informative article the intention is to educate the reader – to
inform them on a particular subject or topic. It has no intention to
present an argument, or to convince the reader to change his/her
belief or opinion.

INFORMATIVE ESSAY OUTLINE


The informative essay outline is written in the standard essay
style. It consists of:

a. An introduction + thesis statement. It presents the main


argument in an exciting and interesting manner.
b. Body Paragraphs. Body paragraph is used to support the
thesis created in the introduction.
c. The Conclusion. It will wrap up the information and present its
significance in the real world.
