Festival dances- are cultural dances performed to the strong beats of percussion instruments by a
community of people sharing the same culture usually done in honor of a Patron Saint or in thanksgiving
of a bountiful harvest.

Two types of festivals


1. Religious
2. Secular
Cheer dance is a coined words came from “cheer “and “dance” To cheer is to shout out word or phrases
that my help motivated and boost the morale of a playing team and perform better during games.
Popular couple dances without set patterns are classified as social and ballroom dances.

Social dances are usually done to introduce people with one another during a formal social
gathering or to welcome guests to a social gathering. Many of the social dances like polka and
mazurka started as folk dances while some were deliberately designed for its social purpose,
such as the waltz, regoudon and polonaise (Nimor, 2006). Social dancing is believed to had
existed since the beginning of human society in some forms.
Physical Fitness Event is an affair to address certain health issues and concern to
achieve a better health condition and physical well-being. Dancing, either for having it
as leisure or for serious health reasons can be of great help in achieving good physical
features as well as in maintaining health disposition.

3 stages in organizing fitness event.


1. The Planning Stage
2. the Implementing Stage

Planning organized fitness event must adhere to the principles of Specify, Individuality
and Progression. A Physical Fitness Plan is a subjective plan to address issues about
specific health condition. During this Planning Stage, there are Underlying Factors
that you should investigate such as Barriers, changing lifestyle, values and attitudes,
social benefits, finances, medical conditions, incentives and readiness for change.
Health issues and concern such as Intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, personal
interests, personal and family health history, settings, resources, culture and risk level

Here are some sample steps in planning your fitness event


1. Set goals for your event. What is it that you want to achieve? What do you want
the people concerned to feel after your fitness dance event?
2. Establish a theme that benefit your dance goals.
3. Find an appropriate date, time and venue for your dance event. Work out the
number of people who will be involved in this dance event?
4. Determine what you want to have during the dance event. Are you going to
have a mini dance games? Do you want to give prizes? Do you want to give
award to best dancers? Is there going to be a photo booth section? Are you
going to invite local dance celebrities? Is there going to be an entrance fee? Are
you going to place a medical/emergency team? Are you going to rent
equipment?
5. Identifying the number of participant that will join the dance event will affect
your budget. Set your financial allocation according to your initial plan. Adjust
it accordingly based on the activities so everything will be alright.
6. When you have finalized the budget and the dance activities, you can start
finalizing the dance program, too.
7. Set a plan on marketing/advertising to draw attention to your dance event.
A day or two before your dance event, have a checklist of what you had
accomplished and need to be followed-up. Have a contingency plan in case of
untoward events or incase of shift in projected plan. Prioritized your work according to
essentiality, time boundedness, and availably or resources.
Lastly, Feedback Is the last step in hosting a physical fitness event. It is
one of the best assessment methods to identify things to improved.
