This Contractor Safety Program for BRUVS BUILDERS AND DEVELOPERS CORP. It

applies to the project Proposed 2-Storey Production Studio (G-Studio).

Engr. Enrique Esguerra will be responsible for overall direction of the Contractor Safety Program.

This will be implemented and monitored on site by Mr. Jun Dimaculangan.

I. INTRODUCTION

All firms contracted by our company, because they are employers, are required by the

Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Act of 1970 to provide safe and healthy employment to

their employees.

It is also our policy as an employer to be responsible for providing a safe and healthty work

environment for employees. Contract work, especially in occupied buildings, may present

situations or conditions that may adversely impact the safety and health of employees.

POLICY

BRUVS BUILDERS AND DEVELOPERS CORP. values the importance of protecting the

environment and improving safety of the project location. With this in mind, BRUVS is

committed to:

- Promote the preservation and protection of the environment, health and safety of all its

employees, suppliers, clients and community

- Comply with all legal and statutory requirements

- Implement and improve all programs related to resource conservation, environmental protection,

accident prevention and provision of safe workplace/environment.

III. RESPONSIBILITIES

All personnel responsible for managing contracts will ensure that:

1. Each contractor is provided with warnings of hazards and information about our programs for

abating these hazards.

2. Each contractor is informed of our safety, health, and environmental requirements.

3. The work is conducted in a safe and responsible manner in compliance with applicable

regulations.

VI. Construction Safety Officer Duties and Responsibilities

A construction safety officer can be responsible for the following duties:

- Inspects the site to ensure it is a hazard-free environment.

- Conducts toolbox meetings

- Is part of the project safety council and leads all efforts to enhance safety

- The safety officer reviews and approves all subcontractors safety plans

- Verifies that injury logs and reports are completed and submitted to related government agencies

- Verifies that all tools and equipment are adequate and safe for use.

- Promotes safe practices at the job site.

- Enforces safety guidelines.

- Trains and carries out drills and exercises on how to manage emergency situations.

- Conducts investigations of all accidents and near-misses.

- Reports to concerned authorities as requested or mandated by regulations.

- Conducts job hazard analyses.

- Establishes safety standards and policies as needed.

- Performs emergency response drills.

- Watches out for the safety of all workers and works to protect them from entering hazardous

situations.

- Responds to employees’ safety concerns.

- Coordinates registration and removal of hazardous waste.

- Serves as the link between state and local agencies and contractors.

- Receives reports from and responds to orders issued by Department of Labor Inspectors.

- Arranges for OSHA mandated testing and/or evaluations of the workplace by external

agencies/consultants.

VII. Pre-construction Meeting

Representatives of the BRUVS shall meet with the SAV Design/ Plaza+Partners / Clients prior to

the start of construction project for the purpose of reviewing safety requirements and discussing

implementation of all health and safety provisions pertinent to the work under contract.

VIII. Housekeeping

Good housekeeping, with provision for prompt removal and disposal of accumulations of

combustible scrap and debris, shall be maintained in all areas of the jobsite. Self-closing metal

containers shall be used for disposal of waste saturated with flammable liquids.

IX. Smoking

Smoking or other sources of ignition shall not be permitted within the project premises.

X. On-site safety and health promotion and continuing information dissemination

Appropriate signs, signals and barricades will be posted and/or erected to provide adequate

warning of hazards to workmen and the public. All signs signals and barricades shall meet the

standards set forth in Subpart G.29 CFR 1926.200 (OSHA Regulations).

XI. Accident and Incident Investigation and Reporting

Within 24 hours from the time of the accident, the Safety Officer will report the incident to the

nearest DOLE branch. Such Accident will be investigated and recorded in the Accident

Prevention and Control Report.

XII. Personal Protective Equipment

The use of personal protective equipment will be strictly enforced. Hard hats will be worn at all

times by all workers on the job. Proper hearing, eye and face protection as well as adequate

respiratory protection will be worn when required. Eye protection will be worn during grinding,

sawing, chipping, pouring concrete or at any other time eye protection is necessary. Safety

harnesses and lanyards will be worn any time work being done at height of six (6) feet or more.

Handling of hazardous substances

All painting and waterproofing materials will be handled in accordance with the product’s

material safety and data sheet (MSDS). All solvent base products will be properly covered and

stored away from any potential source of fire hazard. Used containers of such products are

likewise properly covered, stored and disposed in accordance with the MSDS.

XIII. General materials handling and storage procedures

Storage of all material in tiers will be stacked, racked, blocked, interlocked or otherwise secured

to prevent sliding, falling or collapse. The use of ropes, slings and chains for material handling

shall conform to the safe usage recommendations of the manufacturer. All such equipment will be

safely checked periodically by either the superintendent or a competent operator.

XIV. Temporary Fire Protection Facilities and Equipment

There must be sufficient number of hand operated fire extinguisher located throughout the project

site for protection of buildings, storage areas and equipment. No open burning will be allowed on

the job site, therefore reducing fire hazards. Additional, other fire hazards will be reduced

through protection measure such as good housekeeping, spacing of temporary buildings of non-

fire resistive type and proper storage, handling and use of flammable and combustible liquids.

All electrical equipment, toll and extension cords must be grounded properly either by double

insulation on a third wire ground and three prong plug. All other electrical work, installation and

wire capacity must be in accordance with the provisions of the National Electrical code (NFPA

70). Any extension cord defective is to be removed from the job site and dispose of. All

electrical power for 120 volt AC 15-20 AMP service will be protected by a ground faulty circuit

interrupter.

XV. First Aid and Health Care Medicines, Equipment and Facilities

First aid kits will be made available on the job site. Sufficient number of kits shall be on hand to

ensure immediate use. First aid supplies will include disposable gloves, gauze, cotton,

disinfectant, over the counter medicines and bandages.

Temporary Facility will be provided for the workers where they can rest during break time.

Drinking Water will be obtained from potable source and dispense to the job site in a sanitary

metal or plastic “cooler type” container. These containers will be clearly marked as to contents. A

common drinking cup is prohibited. Disposable cups will be provided and a container for their

disposal will be available. Toilet Facility will be provided for the workers. It will be serviced

regularly and maintained in a clean, sanitary and serviceable condition.

XVII. Proposed Hours of Works and Rest Breaks

Work schedule will be Monday to Saturday starting at 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Following break

schedule will be implemented to ensure the welfare of workers: 15 minutes break in the morning

(10:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.), One hour lunch break (12:00 n.n. to 1:00 p.m.) and another 15 minutes

break in the afternoon (3:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.)

XVIII. Construction Waste Disposal

All scrap lumber, waste material and rubbish must be removed from construction area

immediately as the work progresses.

XIX. Non-compliance with Safety and Health Requirements

During the course of the contract situations of non-compliance with the contractor's safety and

health plan or our company's safety and health requirements, will be brought to the attention of

the Project Officer and the Contracting Officer verbally and will immediately be followed-up in

writing. Failure to correct the violation or continued violations shall be grounds for termination of

the contract.

If after notifying the Project Officer and Contracting Officer in writing of deficiencies of any

health and safety violations which could pose an imminent danger, an immediate order to stop

work will be issued. Should this occur, the Safety Manager would bring the matter to the

XX. Safety Training

The contractor must ensure that its employees have completed appropriate health and safety

training when required by statute/regulation and provide documentation of such training when

required by the contract.

XXI. Medical Clearance

The contractor must ensure that its employees have appropriate medical clearance when required

either by governmental regulations or by our company's requirements. Copies of medical

clearance for contractor personnel are required to be presented as specified by the contract.

The Project Officer and the Safety Manager shall determine if additional medical requirements

(i.e., Blood serum samples, immunizations) are required for contractor personnel prior to the
