English Grade 1

I. Objectives:
At the end of 30 minutes the child should be able to:
• Identify and recognize nouns.
• Understand the concept of nouns as naming words.
• Practice identifying nouns using actual objects.

II. Subject Matter:


• Topic: Introduction to Nouns
• Key Concepts:

Identifying nouns using actual objects

III. Materials:
Various actual objects (e.g., ball, chair, book, etc.)
Blank sheets
Pencil

IV. Procedure:

1. Introduction (10 minutes):


Begin with a brief discussion on words that name people, places, and things.
Introduce the term "nouns" and explain that nouns are naming words.

2. Interactive Noun Identification with Objects (20 minutes):


Display a selection of actual objects.
Ask the child to identify and name each object, emphasizing that these are nouns.
Use paper to jot down the identified nouns or draw simple representations.
3. Discussion Format (15 minutes):
Engage in a casual discussion about the identified nouns.
Prompt the student with questions like "Can you tell me more about this object?"
or "How do you use this object?"
Encourage the child to use the identified nouns in their responses.

4. Noun Recognition Practice (10 minutes):


Ask the child to write sentences on paper, incorporating nouns from the objects
in the surroundings.
The child can underline or circle the nouns in their sentences using a pencil.
Discuss the sentences and clarify any questions.

5. Individual Noun Drawing (10 minutes):


Ask the child to choose three objects from the surroundings.
Have the child draw a simple illustration for each object on paper using a pencil.

6. Closure (5 minutes):
Review the concept of nouns and the identified nouns from the activities.
Discuss the drawings and emphasize the connection between the objects
and the corresponding pictures.

V. Assignment:
Ask the child to find and list five nouns around their home (e.g., table, chair, bed, etc.)
and create a short paragraph or draw simple pictures to represent each noun.
Encourage them to share their findings and stories in the next session.
