1. Explain the curriculum road mapping- vision –mission-goals – objectives. (15 pts)

Vision, Mission, Goals and Objectives plays the most significant role in building the
curriculum of all schools and universities as this outlines the school’s objectives and gives
teachers, administration, and students a feeling of connectedness and shared identity.
Thus, this also stimulates them to invest time and effort to excel. Concisely, it serves as
the main guide or blueprint of the university to ensure that everyone is striving towards a
united purpose, and it gives clarity and direction to every plan of the university’s journey,
without it, we won’t achieve success and excellence.

However, if we look at their respective definitions, a Vision in a curriculum road map

simply implies that it reflects what the school or university aspires to be. They see this as
part of a larger picture of their accomplishments and aspirations. The term "vision" means
the willingness to succeed. That is why, to achieve success and build a legacy, school
curriculum must align with their vision.

On the other hand, Mission provides an explanation or a route to vision. While vision
is a path to success, mission provides direction to ensure that people don't get lost along
the way. It is accompanied by the question, "What can you serve to make the school,
students, and community succeed?" Therefore, mission simply refers to a plan of action
that will lead you towards your destination or goal.

As it is a matter of what must be done, the Goal also is an important aspect of

curriculum. Without a goal, schools and universities would stagnate rather than progress.
Students and teachers will be unable to maintain a competitive mindset and attain
excellence in their respective disciplines. Hence, a university's goal is a milestone in
designing an integrated strategic plan.

Furthermore, there are the Objectives. This could be compared to a goal because
both must be completed at some point. They do, however, differ in terms of timeframe.
While goals encompass a wide range of milestones, objectives are more defined
milestones that must be met within a specific time frame. Simply stated, it is more likely
to be attainable, quantifiable, appropriate, and time-bound than goal.
